I am very unimpressed that my previous review was deleted, although I ensured that it meets this site's guidelines. My previous comments were not slanderous, off-base, rude or misleading. Furthermore, to label GJ Restaurant, as an "Asian Restaurant" is misleading, to put is politely. Although the owners are Asian, the "restaurant" is not, which begs the question were this information comes from.
This restaurant caters to the evening dancing crowd, their main day being Thursday evening, with a DJ. On Fridays and Saturdays there is hardly any attendance. The dance floor is small but decent. The crowd is mostly elderly Italian, as the music is geared to them. The Ambiance is more like an Italian social club.
This place relocated from Eglington Ave. West. (Eglington and Dufferin streets) to it's present location on Finch Ave.
There is NO Food served in this restaurant, other than the occasional Pizza made by an off-premise fast food pizza maker (Pizza Pizza), and I have no idea where DineHere gets the notion that any food is served in this place.
After you get seated you will IMMEDIATELY, and in no uncertain terms be told that you must order a drink, or else leave. (There is no cover charge). On my last visit, in the company of 6 friends from Vancouver, we ask for 2 minutes to decide what drinks to order. The answer from the owner was rather rude, so we left, only to be told at the door by this same Owner never to return, "as we wasted his time".
