I have to tell you I love good food, especially when it is really good...I recently discovered FABARNAK it's a little Cafe in the heart of downtown TO in the gay village located inside the local 519 community centre. The food is fresh, adventurous, and really really delicious. Quirky fun hipster menu, communal or private tables available, great vibe...

Today I stopped by for breakfast, you know Friday morning...getting ready for the weekend after a long week and all that....and I ordered these yeast-leavened pancakes, maple pear and smoked pork belly compote, rosemary whipped cream and housemade peameal bacon...oh ya... crazy good...just plain crazy good.

I sure hope those stay on the menu for awhile (they change menus 3-4 times a year to highlight local seasonal fresh foods). Servers are super sweet - sometimes a little soft-spoken...but FABARNAK is a teaching business and is helping youth who face employment barriers get hands on job experience - you gotta love that - check it out...
