A Québécois Delight in Mimico
By netwonk of Toronto (16 Reviews)
Submitted Monday, August 29, 2011 - 6:32pm [Dine in]

We've dined at Cafe du Lac several times. Each time has been a very good experience. I'm a big fan of Quebec cuisine to start with, but have come to terms with experiencing it every few years with a trip to Quebec. When we moved to Mimico a few years ago, we were delighted to find this little establishment.

Service is super. Kathryn always makes you feel at home when you arrive. Cafe du Lac has a great "local hang out" feel to it, but the service is also very professional.

The food, this is what we come for. Delicious. I personally recommend the steak frites, it's great every time. The "Canard dans une jarre" is a must try as well. They have very well put together tasting menus if you are undecided. Oh yes and don't forget the poutine! Wash it all down with a local Great Lakes brewery beer on tap, or a Blanche De Chambly.

It's a great evening, you'll leave satisfied and discussing your meal for days afterwards.
