Cafe Diplomatico is an Italian restaurant located on College Street in Little Italy.
I came here for lunch on a dark and stormy afternoon after the lunch rush. The place was about half full and I decided to sit on the patio even though it was a bit cloudy and ugly out. After being seated, I was greeted by a surly waitress who never smiled and curtly asked what I would like. I ordered a drink and a small pizza with bacon, mushrooms, green pepper and Italian sausage. The drink, a Vitamin water, came to my table 15 minutes later. I waited another 30 minutes, so 45 minutes total for my pizza to arrive. It honestly seemed like forever because I was hungry and dining by myself. They also had loud radio station music blaring on the patio which was annoying, especially when the long commercials segments came on. Finally I got my pizza and it somewhat made up for the cold service and poor ambiance. It was one of the better thin crust pizzas I have had. I think I tipped about a dollar which is probably the least I have tipped in a very long time. I won't be back.
