The manager went out of her way to show us their new look..even gave me a free smoothie and other items to try off the new menu.
so friendly..amazing food..sandwich was great...great service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Will definitely visit again to try different items off the menu.. great atmosphere after the renovation
Definitely coming back again to Bakery Garden. I was attracted by the delicious cooking smell while window shopping at Bayview Village on the long weekend and was amazed by the ambiance and the crowd there that I just had to eat something. Their crepes, omelet and quiche was amazing. The smoothies was to die for. Everything was homemade and fresh. The service was very fast even though there were many people. The place is so clean and inviting. The staff were so pleasant and courteous.
Bakery Garden only has one location, at Bayview Village in Toronto. Their website advertises their omelettes and other items at a lower price than the restaurant actually charges. This is false advertising. Also, their website advertises a coffee loyalty card. I have been to the restaurant (which is really just an over-priced fast food place), many, many times and always bought coffee. I was never advised by staff of the coffee loyalty card. I only heard about it this week because I happened to check their website.
What good is a coffee loyalty card if the customers aren't told about it? I can't believe how many times I bought coffee and was never advised. Also, why are the prices on the website less for the same items in the actual restaurant? Lastly, Bakery Garden has not responded to my inquiries - obviously, they don't care. Fase advertising for both the fake coffee loyalty card and the website claiming their menu prices are less than they actuallya re.
My mother and I were at Bayview Village and decided to check out the Bakery Garden Cafe for breakfast. The ambience looked good and I placed my order based on the menu that hung over the counter. We were looking forward to hang out on a leisurely morning to catch up. I ordered an Egg and Cheese Melt, which was shown to be priced at $6.69. My mother ordered an omelette. While the server was preparing our food, he told me that our meal came with a bagel and he asked which we preferred. He offered a sesame bagel but not being too keen on that, I asked if they had a cheese bagel instead. He said yes and I asked again, "Does this come with the meal?" He replied yes. When we were making payment, I asked for water to go with my coffee and the cashier said she needed to charge 75 cents for it. I paid for it. After payment, I asked for my receipt as it was not readily offered. I saw that there was an extra charge of 60 cents for the cheese bagel. Also, I was overcharged for my main item by more than 20%.
All these would not have seemed so bad if not for the terrible attitude shown by the manager, Alem, who didn't seem to care or listen. She made no apology for the overcharge. Because of the "bagel included" and ill communication, I had to pay for something I didn't need. All she said was too bad, you didn't read the signs properly. She pointed out the sign and nowhere on the sign did it say there is an additional charge for that item. She said, you should have checked the prices on the bread baskets. Hello! I was ordering from the menu, I wasn't shopping for bread. She even asked me to go ahead, write this bad review. For sure I will not be stepping in there again.
