I have to agree with kyliem about how open and airy it is. There are a few tables by the window which are great for warm days and even better for people watching on Queen West. Went with a few friends last week and were automatically greeted by the woman working cash who gave us a few sampling cups to try out their new flavours! Tried out the peanut butter and new cotton candy one (oddly very good), before settling on the pomegranate one. yum :)
Will definitely be back again. Hopefully they have more flavours to try out!
Was so excited when this location opened, had been trekking uptown to the Avenue Rd. Yogurty's for a while. LOVE Yogurty's and how often they have new flavours and toppings. Missing the creme brule flavour, hope they bring it back soon! Also love the open and airy atmosphere at the Queen St. location is, so perfect for summer.
From the inability to make last minute reservations, to the managers and wait staff that don’t seem to care if your fish is overcooked or pasta and calamri that are bland, to the “policy of (fake) authenticity” where policy trumps even simple requests for butter (I'm allergic to Olives) and salt (no matter how bland the pasta dish was). Last time we checked they have butter and salt in Italy. No "I'm sorry" or "Let us make it up to you". Thanks for upsetting me so much that I got up from the table and went outside to calm down. Snobby attitudes have no place in today’s gastronomic operations. That’s why Terroni on Adelaide is my number one choice for WORST service in Toronto.
I just celebrated a Birthday at Alice's Place, we felt unwelcome upon arrival, Alice the owner greeted all of us with a moody attitude from the start, no smiles, and hurried service, no napkins, no garbage cans, food not so good, we had to pay for every single song we played, when it was time to cut the birthday cake, she acted unhappy and asked me if we could blow the candles and not cut it cause she was nerves about dirtying the floor. We were 40 guess in total and spent well. Too bad, we liked the place and were looking forward to have a good time but Alice put a negative tone to the party, we all regret having done the celebration at this place. Ken, F
Few days ago I went with my girlfriend to have dinner there, the washroom was very dirty and smelling like hell. The food was overcooked, burned and not fresh. My girlfriend gentle complained about an entry that was decomposed, and the owner treated her very bad, this lady is very rude and sarcastic with the customers. The prices were very high. I'll Never come back to this place.
U got to love this place Franks Pizza House great food with no strings. By far one of the best pizza place in Toronto. Great owner with no up selling just a good time at Franks, best Panzerotti in Toronto hands down. My friends ordered the minestrone soup, just like momma use to made, the calamari were fresh and steaming hot. And the pizzas to die for we had the #19 Anglique and #6 Toronto pizza. Looking foreword to our next visit.
This is the third time I've been here. Like the previous review mentioned, the service is not so good. The servers are nice, but very clueless. This is a super casual wing joint. I guess you shouldn't expect so much. The cups they serve drinks always have this weird toilet water aftertaste. The bottomless drinks are watered down a lot. The wings are amazing. I think that's the only reason I returned this time. However, I'm never going back. Why? Today, I ordered the daily special that clearly states vegetables are included with it. The vegetables (2 celery sticks and 2 carrot sticks, sadly) came after the meal, only when I mentioned it to the server. When it came out, the celery sticks and carrots were drenched in water. Taking a bite out of one, I nearly threw up spitting it out. It was rotten. The celery stick was soggy and gooey texture. The second celery stick looked like someone ate it and put it back on the plate. What kind of quality check is this? When I asked the server, she looked clueless and responded by saying how they're vegetables and vegetables can go bad any time... Note taken. This Wild Wing location DOES NOT care about quality. The manager was nowhere to be found to correct this incident and we did not receive any proper apology. I'm never going back to Wild Wing ever again, and won't recommend this place to anyone I know. How do your servers not know the menus and specials? How can you let customers eat rotten vegetables?
Tommy, Jim and I went to The Fill Station to watch the NHL Playoffs!
What a great place to watch a game. It was packed with hockey fans hooting and hollering. The TVs were great and the sound was on nice and loud. We ordered wings and they were so great we ended up ordering some to take home. The only problem I has is they did not have BUD on tap so had to get it in a bottle. My friends told me to shut up, only because theirs were on tap!
Anyway, great bar and a great place to watch the game
Allow me to first start off by saying that this was my first experience with St Louis Wings - and my last.
When I arrived at the restaurant I tried to order 2 orders of wings. I had an entertainment book coupon for 2 for 1. The bartender/waitress told me "Im sorry but this is only good for dine-in". I replied that nowhere on the coupon did it state that, but she insisted that her manager would only allow it for dine-in, so I obliged.
I then asked her "Am I able to SUBSTITUTE the fries for anything else?" and she said "yup, salad, onion rings, etc." I chose onion rings and greek salad with the assumption that they were SUBSTITUTED for the fries.
When the bill arrived, I noticed the waitress charged me $1.99 ($3.98) for both SUBSTITUTIONS. I asked her why she didn't mention that before and she replied "its on our menu..."
This is one of the WORST experiences I have EVER had at a Toronto eatery. First of all, to not honor a coupon in its entirety is pathetic. Since when do vendors make up their own additional rules with coupons? But beyond that - to actually charge me $3.98 for SUBSTITUTIONS is perhaps one of the most petty cash-grabs I have ever fallen victim to.
To say the price is $15 or less, is wrong. This place is so overpriced, overhyped and provide such terrible service. Seems like the only way to get some service here is to phone order ahead. The fish is overcooked and dry, expensive, lack flavor. Slow servers behind the kitchen counter which is so obvious, where you see them congregate and take their time. To get a conch soup ( which incidentally is the only good things there) you have to wait almost 30 minutes , even though it done. They have to 'warm; it up. Terrible! This is one place you would never want to leave a tip. Awful.
I went to this restaurant with a couple girlfriends for the first time this week. I am a big lover of Thai food and have my favorites but decided to try a new place. Not a great decision. The server/hostess, probably the owner of the restaurant with her husband and son, was cold and unfriendly. Neither her or her son had the energy or professional capacity to bring our dishes to each of us so they would literally leave it on one end of the table and we would have to pass it to each other.
Not one time during the two hours we were there did they ask us how we were enjoying our meal? We ordered a variety of dishes and shared. The food was okay but definitely not up to par in comparison to other Thai Restaurants I have enjoyed.
My friend didn't even want to leave a tip and she is normally a very generous tipper. I should have listened to her but I felt uncomfortable leaving nothing so I left $2.50. After waking up this morning feeling horrible and sick, I wish I had left a penny with a note telling them to improve their poor service and poor food. They seem to not give a damn about the people walking in and now I am concerned about what I actually consumed there.
Today I found another site where a few others described the poor service and lackluster food they received here and have decided to get a restaurant app on my phone so that I check a place out before I spend my money there.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!!! There are far better restaurant options in that area with far better service.
The ambiance is decent and the drums and "restaurant culture" here earned it a high mark in that area.
However, the food is unlike most Japanese restaurants you've been to, so keep that in mind (it is kinda fusion style). Kinda overpriced and underwhelming, to be honest. Not for conservative/traditional eaters
I had a menage a trois sandwich ... 3 merguez (lamb sausages) with caramelized onions, aioli and harissa on demi-baguette. was very juicy and delicious...very cool joint, Dali is the man behind and did offer this amazing fresh mint lemonade.ooooh how cool.. next time will try the camel burger the way they serve it. how about the brik a l'oeuf coming soon and the tuna sandwich
Never again! Service was dreadful and staff were rude. Food was mediocre to OK (weve had almost everything and flavour on the menu). As far as value-its not inexpensive. The ambiance for us was directly impacted by the horrible treatment by staff, so would have to say "poor". My last experience (tonight) we had to wait while wait staff chatted amongst themselves (common occurance). Four of us had gone in - not during a busy time and spent over $30.00 for desserts and tea. . I ordered a 1/2 litre container (to go) along with a cupcake (to go) and my friends had coffee, tea, a cake and another dessert to eat there. I took a couple of bites from my takeout container as I waited for them to eat their desserts and coffee/tea...and a waiter came over and told me that I was not allowed to eat the gellato in the container, in the store. At first we did not understand what he was saying (I could not have a bite of the 10.00 worth of food I just bought because it was in a take out container?) - he was very rude and I just told him to go away, as I was not going to let him ruin my evening. We live around the block (as do the friends we were with) and will make every effort to ensure none of our neighbors have to experience such embarrassing and rude service. We are huge supporters of neighborhood bussiness, but will do everything to make sure folks know about this awful experience. So many other wonderful businesses on the Danforth, but lots of other great places to get ice cream... Tim Hortons... Baskin & Robbins ... and there are a couple of fabulous dessert spots on the Danforth. Not to mention the desserts at many of the wonderful restaurants on the Danforth - try there before going to this place and being treated so badly (ps - the gellato/ice cream is no better than the other options!). So dissapointed - with so many hard working businesses going down in the area, I hate to see such an undeserving and service-un-friendly store continue... but with this kind of service, who knows how long that will last? I doubt long... REALLY!
U want true Italian pizza Franks Pizza you gotta try it, plust best Panzerotti in Toronto "get it fried to die for". We also got the Franks salad great home made dressing and the calamari were outstanding. Our pizza of choice was the Toronto #6 classic pizza and pizza Mike #7 sooo good. Franks check them out you will enjoy it.
Just checked out Classico Louie's Pizzeria new ordering system: http://www.openrest.com/classico. This is what ordering food should be, easy quick and fun! Great Idea!
The Pizza here is awesome, absolutely love the crust! I ordered specialty pizza #16 and the eggplant was cooked right and went so well with the goat cheese!
This is a restaurant that is halaal.
Its your typical Persian restaurant with your typica combos. See menu picture I posted.
Its small, nothing fancy.
They have a few appetizers offered that you don`t often see at Persian restaurants so that`s good - because you`re being offered something different.
I just had kebobs. It was a bit expensive - like $6 for 1 beef/lamb kebob, but the chicken kebob was $2.00
I would recommended for a quick drop in
I just wanted to say that my family always go there during the evening on Fridays and Saturdays. I must say the food is delightful.
The ambience is next to perfection with 40 plus televisions surrounding you. The staff always give us a little education on the smoke bbq. That`s always pleasant. ( I pretty much know a thing or two on smoke bbq now lololol).
Anyhow, just wanted to keep everyone in on the loop about what`s hot in the east end. Keep up the great work!!!!
We originally came here using the $50 coupon for 2 (incredible value) and we also brought our kids. There is something for everybody here, including children. The steaks are always perfectly cooked (and I'm the type who returns a medium steak when it's supposed to be medium-rare) and the appetizers are varied and delicious. The mussels alone can be a full meal, coupled with their incredible free warm garlic loaf (comes with a nice red pepper dip). They also make great french fries, whether regular or sweet, and don't charge you extra for ordering the sweet fries, like many restaurants do. So many steak places serve mediocre fries, it's a crime. Not here. We returned last night craving burgers (and one order of their delicious butter chicken, which could easily rival any Indian restaurant -- and I've tried them all) , and are so glad we did. I ordered the Mediterranean burger, which is huge and includes basil pesto, feta cheese, tzatziki, and all the regular burger toppings on a perfect and soft sesame seed bun. It included fries and terrific cole slaw, and this heaving plate cost all of $8.95. Two family members ordered the regular burger with aged cheddar cheese for a dollar more. One son had pea meal bacon on top (an additional $1.75) and the giant slab put on top of his burger reminded me of the Flintstones opening sequence when Fred orders the ribs! The waitress remembered us from before (and it had been a little while since we had come in) and was sweet, funny, and efficient. I really don't understand why there are some less than stellar reviews online for this restaurant. They are bending over backwards to please, recently adding a weekend brunch at very reasonable prices to their menu. We will definitely be going here for that, and soon. I am a picky restaurant goer who rarely returns unless everything is pretty much right, and everything is pretty much right here. Better, actually.
Ok, nice looking place but no atmosphere and terrible service.
My girlfriend thought her food was cold and not what she ordered but they were not interested in listening at all. Even after we explained our issue to the manager, there was nothing done to help us or deal with us at all. Even though it was uneatable, they would not discount our bill.
Will never return.
