we went to eat there and the service was bad the food is ok but not the best
it's pricy . you have to watch what did you order they add things on the price you didn't
order. and make sure you know what you eat. they add extra money on the bill and when you ask them
they said tips. tips we put it not them..
will not go again and not recommend it to any friends
I posted my negative experience with White Spot on both dinehere.ca and urbanspoon.com this morning and I sent another email to the corporate head office in order to let them know. Within a couple of hours I had received a phone call from Christy at head office and she explained to me that receiving 2 pieces of dark meat was an error. I advised her that this was not communicated to me in their first response despite my having explaining that, and after a pleasant conversation she convinced me to give them another try. I am glad to know it was simply an error, so for anybody wanting to try the Chicken Pick'ns please note that it is not their official policy to serve only dark meat. I will give White Spot another chance and I'm glad to know they appreciate customer feedback and respond in a prompt and professional manner.
Buffets are great when you're in a hurry and hungry. After all, the food is already made and you can fill your plate to your heart's desire. So why does Win Win fail so bad?
Aside from the poor food quality, my biggest problem with this restaurant is that it is not a true buffet in the sense of quantity and indulgence. A handful of items and a few half-cookies to call dessert do not make a buffet. Neither do the two soup selections - hot and sour soup (with only tofu and peas) and a consomme broth (with well... broth... how is broth even an item, really? Did they forget the wontons? No, sadly the sign clearly said "Consomme broth") The majority of the other dishes were deep fried meats (pork, chicken and calamari) with heavy batter and very little meat.
The price is very reasonable at $10 per person for all you can eat, so if you were to lower your food expectations considerably, and compare this in value to what you would pay normally when dining in a food court, then it may be the place for you. Unfortunately, even at such a low price, I can't stomach what they put out.
The sushi / sashimi is fresh, tasty and worth coming back for. Pricing is reasonable, but service, unfortunately, wreaks the experience each and every time. In our past visits (sometimes a full restaurant, sometimes just a few tables), it was difficult getting the attention of servers for tea refills, to order, or the cheque. We were seated quickly but then forgotten on multiple visits. There are multiple chefs behind the sushi counter, and they work hard. Although there is always food awaiting pick up and sitting for a long while at the counter while the servers are standing alone at the til with their heads down all the time.
If you aren't concerned about poor service, some items to try are: Rabbit roll (cucumber-wrapped sushi was refreshing and innovative); spicy tuna roll (simple, but the sauce they use for the tuna filling is delicious); anything with raw salmon (super fresh).
Will come back but may opt for take out only.
I've walked by this pho place many times, and finally went in for lunch. I understand that pho is subjective to different diners - some like it with more anise, while others like a sweeter taste. But to me, there are hallmarks to a good bowl of pho, which are: for lack of a better word, al dente (non soggy) noodles, rich beefy broth, yummy meats in both quality and quantity. Unfortunately, Pho Newton delivered a bowl of soft noodles with a boring broth and mediocre meat.
I mentioned that I didn't want beansprouts with my salad roll (which came with a watered down peanut sauce by the way) and the server skipped the plate of veggies for my pho entirely. I wanted to ask for the lime, basil and peppers, but was unable to flag down the server.
A disappointing experience. Will not be back.
The first time I visited Neptune Surrey, it was dismal. But I've been back several times since my last review (on their opening day) and am happy to report that things went much more smoothly.
Much improved, arrived hot and was tasty. I particularly liked: eggplant and green beans (tasty black bean sauce didn't overpower), mushroom and black truffle tarts (heavy and buttery, but good), Chui Chow dumplings (hard to find these days but these guys do it right). Didn't enjoy the dumpling in soup as much (too salty, lacking depth of flavor and used imitation crab meat).
Again, much improved and now on par with any fine dining Chinese restaurant. Tea was refilled multiple times, they were attentive and available.
Five of us had a very filling brunch for $45 before tax/tips. Pricing will depend on what you order, but I felt that we had a good mix of heavier items (bun, truffle tart) and lighter items (veggies and steamed dumplings) that made for a satisfying meal. Interesting side note: the auto tip feature for their credit card machine is set to only 10%.
Glad they got into the groove. Will be back if I'm craving dim sum close to home.
I really enjoyed everything about Chili House. The staff was super friendly, but best of all, the food was great. Everything I tasted was really good and was of great freshness and quality.
The atmosphere is nice and cozy - very comfortable. It's easy to see that the owner and staff really care about your experience there.
Check it out. You won't be disappointed!
Came with my friends on a beautiful sunny day & got to enjoy sitting out on the covered patio.
I ordered the Monterey sandwich with fries & it was amazing. They put a generous amount
of fresh sliced turkey on toasted pumpkin seed bread along with other ingredients.
The pricing was acceptable, service was good. I would definitely go back again & recommend it.
I ordered Pizza and wings, and I had to repeat the pizza I wanted 3 times. Got the wrong pizza, and we made sure not to order one with certain toppings. After biting into it and spitting it out I called them. I was accused of ordering this pizza, then offered a discount on some pasta. I've got the pizza and even said it doesn't have to be dealt with tonight. Honestly the wings were dry and not "hot". Waste of $40. As an employee in the service industry for 6+ years that this is not how you do business.
Went here with the family for some dimsum on the weekend. The prices are a little higher than other dimsum places in the Lower Mainland but for Surrey it was the norm. Average dimsum dish was $3.65. At least the dishes were big compare to other dimsum places in Surrey. Actually so far they have the better dimsum than local dimsum places (which are less than a handful) Had the usual dimsume fare like shrimp dumpling, pork dumpling, sticky rice, steamed shrimp rolls with sweet soy sauce, spring rolls etc. The food came out hot and fresh. The serivce was decent and attentive. The area on the other hand was less than desireable. I looked out the window and saw fire and ambulance helping a homeless person outside the building next door. Overall I would venture back when I crave a dimsum fix. I can not comment on the other dishes.
Went here after a workout with the better half. We ordered the the lunch specials. I ordered the ginger beef with rice and better half ordered the pad thai. The pad thai tasted too tangy for my liking but was still tasty. The ginger beef was very good. The presentation was decent and the quantity was the norm. The restaurant is small and the parking out front can be a challenge. I believe their is more parking in the back. One thing I have to note is to watch where you are walking as the tile floors can be very slippy. There is a carpet runner across the floor but if you steer off it , you more than likely fall. Be warned if you use the washroom as there is no carpet and the floor is very slippery. Pleasant experience and will try again in the near future.
Went here with the family the other day for a dinner. The restaurant was just over half full and the music was loud techno modern top 40. A bit too loud as it is hard to converse at times. Ordered the Tawainese deep fried pork chops, 3 sauce chicken, beef brisket with vegetables and the sitr fried lamb with garlic, onions and ginger. The food tasted good but the portion size could have been bigger and the cut of meat could have been better in the 3 sauce chicken. The pieces they used would be the part of chicken that I would usually discard. The beef brisket with vegetables only had 6 piesces of bite size beef. Tasted very good but need more meat. The sides dishes that comes with these meals was cut up cerlery in a dressing and corn nibbits with pieces of ham. The side dishes tasted ok but I would not specially order them if they did not come free witht the meal. All the dishes came with steam white rice. If I had not tried other type of Tawaines bubble tea restaurant I would come back, but there are other that warrant my business more.
We also had a Groupon, it's always good to use one your first time visiting somewhere.
We walked in to an empty restaurant on a Friday night around 6:30 and thought we may have made a mistake. We were pleasantly surprised, the restaurant was small but nice. We started with a grilled caesar salad, which we thought was odd but found it to be very good. We both had the New York Strip Loin with crusted potatoes, both were also very good. The New York cheesecake was beautiful. The entertainment was just one guy, his name is Jim Foster, he was good enough that my wife bought his C.D. We both ordered another drink just to sit and watch him some more. we both agreed it was a very nice evening and both recommend it. I gave a 4 star only because I rarely call anything incredible, which on this site is a 5 Star.
The butter chicken pizza here is awsome. Other items are good too. Aloo tiki needs some work.
The service is horrible. I've ordered takeout from here 3 times and all three time the order was not correct, i had to wait a long time, the staff does not communicate with each other and the customer. No customer service skills.
There's no customer service here, no accountability for screwing their customers over. NA-DA. I was given the wrong dish and was told the kitchen made a mistake, however I won't get a refund and or a replacement for it. I was then patronized by being offered a 10% discount on my next order. (Please note: they have 10% off on ALL their take out orders. So in reality I'm getting a slap on the face)
I've never been to a business with such blatant lack of ownership for their mistakes. In the past they've over cooked my food, reduced portion sizes, brought me the wrong order and the list can go on. Besides, by the looks of it, other customers have had similar experiences. They're consistently screwing up, way to go!!
My advise would be to try some restaurants down the street, it can only get better from here. And watch your receipts, this place seems hella shady to me.
Adios never coming here again!!!
I went their 2nd time to order more food. Except Cream Chicken, food was worse then airline food.
Goat curry was basically boiled goat meat toss in to tomato sauce. (I am not joking)
No spices etc. it was just goat meat + tomato sauce.
The restaurant needs to be shutdown, we end up cooking it again with new gravy at home.
Please do yourself a favor & never buy anything from them. We paid full restaurant price for these dishes. What a waste of my money, I felt cheated.
one of the Best take out options.....they have lunch n dinner buffet only for just $8.99 however I didn't tried it yet but it seems to be good at this price. But they don't have bar yet. that's why its best option for take out...their paneer butter mASALA , malai kofta , kadai chicken, cheese chilly, chilly chicken, Fish pakora are one of the best in town....
Ya its true u r not simply welcome here.....they stare at u as if they are saying that why we eating their food...No welcome ....no politeness ,no restaurant etiquette and manners. I have very few chances to get together with my family....that's why I went there to spend some good time together with my family while eating good food...but these guys ruined all my expectations...I heard a lot about this restaurant ..but I think The ownership has changed now....that's why so much mismanagement....It could have Better for me if I have read the reviews about this ...restaurant.....the server are strange....strange look ...strange gestures...if u ask for water or fresh naan......they give very cold reaction.......So I personally" Don't recommend this place....N I will never ever go there"......just a worst nightmare of my life....I have visited so many restaurents...in surrey which are awesome...like Mahek ,Mirch Masala...etc.. good food n best service....full value for money.....So MIne is Simply NO to Mehfil......
This place used to be great but has continually deteriorated over the last ten years. We live fairly close and used to go once a week. The design of the room is great and the patio is lovely but the furnishings are awful - uncomfortable chairs that are falling apart and dirty and the arm chairs in the corners are absolutely filthy. The carpet could also be cleaned or replaced. In addition, they seem to have trouble keeping all the washrooms in working order. The food is uninspiring to say the least. The Chicken Quesadilla used to be one of my favourites but I think they have started using bags of frozen diced chicken because it smells and tastes old. The last two times I went there I ordered the Quesadilla without chicken because it was so bad. My husband has had the salmon and it smelled and tasted very fishy. Virtually everything we have tried from the menu has been poorly executed and bland.
The service is unreliable as well. Some of the servers don't seem to care at all about providing decent service. There is one woman that is awesome but the rest just don't care.
We also used to take out of town guests there because it was a nice casual place with decent food. We would no longer take anyone there because it has been so poorly maintained and is so dirty. In fact, we don't go there any more for the same reason.
Only went a couple times because it was out of the way......and kind of pricy. Very nice décor inside so I guess they need money to cover the cost. Tried to find something on the menu that was snackable but not put me in the poorhouse. No luck there and what I did order was hum drum. Nay comin back.
