Just got back from dinner at this restaurant and the food is impressively good. This is definitely one of the few place in BC that i could honestly say that the food is worth every penny.
The risotto is very good. Rich and balance flavour. The fish is a bit overcooked but not to the extend of being dry. The presentation of the plates are very nice. Overall, i would definitely rate this place above most of the fancy restaurants around downtown Vancouver.
It has been some time since we were last here due to the lack lustre performance of this once South Surrey standard of Quality.
We went on a Monday Holiday brunch outing.
Seniors $18.00 , adults $22. children $15
The variety of foods presented was just average. however the quality was actually very good. Staff was very pleasant and were attentive to our needs. Various dishes were replenished as needed.MAIN COURSES were
middle of the road , Roast beef, a chicken dish , a fish dish , Veges , nothing special, Omelette station , waffle
Station. Deserts HO HUM , Chocolate fountain with variety of fruits.ALL in All Just a solid performance.
PLUSES. Roast beef was expertly done , Horse radish was fresh.
CONS:- Not enough variety to bring us back soon. Children at $15.00 - way too expensive.
This venue was only a third full. Management has to see that an opportunity is being missed. Increase the value of your offerings and word of mouth and advertising will increase your bottom line.
Will we go again soon? NO because there are so many more golf courses that have much better buffets.
I honestly think this is less healthy than McDonalds. Then again I don't eat at Fast Foods joints at all... full of grease and salt = Chinese food... I do not recommend this place but then again this is Surrey... people here don't know quality. That is quite apparent. Thanks for reheating my wontons and other foods in the back... this place I believe has been shut down a couple times in the past for hygienic reasons.
Went here to try out a new sushi restaurant in Fleetwood area. The restaurant took over a old coffee shop. The decor is decent but nothing out of the ordinary. The service was attentive and prompt when they refilled your tea and water. But the value of what you get is the kicker. The bento boxes were on the pricer side of other sushi restaurant. You get the same type of food ie californian roll, tereyaki chicken on rice, green salad, soup etc but we ordered the noodle soup for the kids as sushi is a bit too adventureous. What we received for over $8 (as I recall) was basically instant noodles with two spring rolls. I was shocked as the noodles had the exact same texture as instant noodles as well as the broth tasted like it came out of a package. I could not believe that they even have that on the menu. Was very disappointed and probably not returning as there are far better restaurant out there.
Drove by this restaurant several times when I am out and about and finally decide to give this place a try with the family. Never been to a Ramen restaurant and was pleasantly pleased. If you can overlook the different types of ingredients that this place has compare to other noodle restaurant, then you will be surprise how tasty the food is. Ingredients like stringy fungus and milky looking broth. Both these ingredients was in my beef brisket noodle soup and I was glad that it was. The broth was hot and full body with flavour. The meat was delightfully cooked. The vegetables and noodles was well prepared as I felt very satisfied eating my dinner there. The kids shared the beef udon noodle soup and the that tasted awesome too. Especially the broth. Wifie had the pork cutlet with noodles and she said that she enjoyed it as well. Overall we had a wonderful experience and I will definitely returning soon.
There are not too many AYCE Mongolian restaurant in the first place let alone in Surrey. So when I found out about this charming little restaurant i had to give it a try. The restaurant is clean and quite nice for a mom and pop place. The food is like the other Mongolian restaurant out there. I swear they all must all have a cookie cutter set-up. The types of meat (chicken, pork, beef and lamb) and vegetables are very similar to the other AYCE Mongolian restaurant. Even to the font that the different sauce that is available is the same like the other AYCE Mongolian restanrant. What makes this place nice is the service is very friendly and the waitress trys to accomadate you the best she can. They try to cater to you the best they can if you have any allergies. Was impressed with the whole experience. Will venture back when I am in the mood for some delicious hot Mongolian food.
this place is really good with the service, the people working there are amazing at their job, they know the product really well and they make very usseful sugestions, i really like that. the food its good too i think its fresh and well cooked, the place its a little busy sometimes and maybe way too decorated but its good inspite of that i really recomend to go here. its really good
i really like the food and the ambience of this place, its like going back in time and its really nice. i would definitely recomend this place and i am going back again soon. i think its worth the price and its a nice place to go with family or friends
BTW folks, same owner as Guilford Mall with the top Fraser health violations. For all of you who those to go to this location instead, just saying...wouldn't guess that the standards would be any different at this one, go at your own risk. Don't go I f you value your health.
The first thing you notice when you walk in the restaurant is the beautiful Japanese themed décor. The delicately pink cherry blossoms, glowing orb-like lamps and cozy seating create a soothing, romantic atmosphere, perfect for a date. The restaurant is never overcrowded, which makes it a nice setting for conversing. I am usually seated right away.
Customer service was prompt and polite, and the prices were right for the quality of the food. The menu covers everything from soups and salads, tempura, sushi, rolls, and meats. I highly recommend the Las Vegas Roll, Miso Soup and the Yam Tempura. They also offer all-you-can-eat, which is great if you want to try several sushi flavors. The bento boxes are also a great option, but they’re only available in the afternoons. My favorite is the Salmon Teriyaki Box, but all the ones I’ve tried are excellent.
I rate them 5/5.
Once entering the deli , you are welcomed by the unabashed sandwich slinger. He is a high speed slicing machine building multiple sandwiches by his liking. No menu needed just meat and good cheeses on fresh rolls. Basic but decent, the shop is a local staple. Where quantity for cost is the norm, the deli is always steady. Inside is a dusty, messy affair where takeout is the sole option. Cash rules at this shop , you will leave with enough sustenance to carry on with your day with amazingly adequate flavour!
We came on an evening in December and I think they had a lot of office Christmas parties. We had reservations but even with reservations we had one of the worst seats in the restaurant. We were seated at a table right beside the bar so wait staff and customers were walking by our table all evening. This is hardly conducive to a nice evening out. We asked if we could have one of the booths near the bar but were told that it was reserved. I would ask for a table in the main dining area next time.
All entrees come with soup of the day and a choice of Caesar or greek salad. I had the moussaka and it is probably one of the best moussakas that I’ve ever had. My husband had the rack of lamb and he also was very impressed with his dinner. The portions are very generous.
The pricing is fair for the quality and quantity of food. Service was very good.
We would return but only if we could have a different table.
I have been to a lot of Greek Restaurants, but by far Greek Islands is the Best..
they have 4 locations Chilliwack, 2 in Abbotsford and now in Surrey..
Lamb for me to Die for,,
My Wife, Greek Ribs...
you get soup, salad, Pita bread and main course for under 25 each... meal
Fully Licensed, For me the Service is Awesome, they are very busy so expect some delay but food is hot and fast...
Don't take my word for it GO... then tell me if I was right.
We went out for dinner On Saturday with another couple. We had been to the Derby ourselves and wanted to take our friends. We where not disappointed. Did I mention that the service was fantastic, the young lady who served us was simply the best she made great suggestions. knew her product and was timely with drink refills etc. I only wish my feeble memory could remember her name... The food was good, the seafood special was well presented and perfectly prepared. The ambiance was good a little busy in tat there are a lot of neon signs but the live entertainment was good without being overly loud. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
I love Chinese food so I have tried many different places all over North America with mixed results. The food I was served was without a doubt the worst quality and the worst value I have ever been subjected to. I had the war wonton, the base was thin and tasteless the seafood was still frozen in the center the noodles where under cooked overall it was terrible and a small bowl cost over nine bucks. I warn you don't even try it!
I probably should have had the pho like everyone else there seems to. We had the salad rolls and lemon chicken/spring roll vermicelli bowl. They were both not bad but I have had better in Surrey so I won't be back for those kind of dishes here, maybe come back and try the pho. But with the parking like it is there that might be problematic. The salad rolls might have had MSG in them as the taste of them stayed around for most of the day. Very good service though and pleasant as well.
Either they improve their food or people are going to go there once and probably not again. I will say that a reason to go back are the samosas and veggie pakoras. I've tried the other dishes hoping to hit a good one but usually strike out. Sincerely hope they pick up the slack though. They are nice enough customer service wise.
I stopped going here fore lunch as the menu is a bit pricey and static. I went there recently for someone's birthday. There were 5 of us and I was the only one who had to look at the menu. Everyone else said "I always get the..." My chicken Caesar seemed to be chopped rather than torn which was a bit strange and also bland. Please change the menu!!!!!!!!!!!
This has to be one of the worst places I've ever eaten. Not only did I get horrendous diarrhea, the food was bland, greasy, limp and flavourless. I had the fish and chips with a juice. The juice was basically cafeteria sugar water and costed $3 a cup. The fish was greasy and tasted oddly of carrots instead of fish. The chips were soggy, bland and a few tasted rancid. The tartar sauce turned brown as I was eating which just made the entire experience more terrifying. Way overpriced for the quality of food they are serving. Please love your bowels and avoid this place.
The owner is friendly, but unfortunately got my order wrong, due to a language barrier I can only presume. I have been coming here for years and she did not make things right. After a heated conversation, I was offered 50% off, but chose to stand for my principles and left.
