This restaurant looks soo good! Definitley not what you would expect for the area, this restaurant looks like it could be downtown Vancouver. Food is good and prices are great considering what a nice experience the restaurant is. The food came out quickly and was what you expect for Thai food. Also had nice presentation. Definitely eat here!
First thing I noticed about the food was how fresh the ingredients were. Something you don't often see at other Pho restaurants. There stuff is priced a bit more but it is worth it. There spring rolls are amazing, put all others we've tried before to shame. Decor is modern and a nice change from what you often get in the subarbs. Owners give great service also. Definitely a good spot to eat all round!
Food and service is good. However, the soup can be cold at times. Ask them to heat it a bit longer. I love their mangolion beef and fried rice. Cantonese noodles are also very delicious. Prices could be a bit lower for the amount of portions they provide. Overall Asian Spice is a good experience!
I visit this place quite a bit. Absolutely love the food! Prices are very reasonable and portions are large. The dinner plate can easily feed 2. Donairs are awesome and they stuff them with a lot of meat unlike other places. But my favourite has to definitely be the naan, you can't really find this kind of naan anywhere in Vancouver. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking to try Pakistani-Indian food.
The food is absolutely delicious, and the service is excellent. The black bean sauce noodle is not too oily or salty and the quantity is very large. It's a wonderful combination with the pickled radish. The sweet and chili chicken comes out crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, which is what it's supposed to be! YUM. I tried the rice cake with seafood soup, and if you love seafood, you'll love this. Once, the manager?I believe, gave us complimentary fried dumplings! Clearly, I have been here many times and also ordered take-outs. Never disappointed. The servers are always very friendly and attentive, it's like they really actually care about you eating their food! The prices are good too. You must go!! It's amazingly wonderful food with yummy Korean side dishes! :)
I used to go to Ashiana all the time when they had their location in Vancouver. Unfortunately, I had moved to Langley and could not go nearly as much. Then when I heard that they had opened a location in Surrey I was ecstatic.
I recently got a chance to try it out and I could not believe how great the food was. The restaurant looked modern and great and the food was the best Indian food I had tried in Surrey. I felt obligated to try the butter chicken and it was just as great as it was in Vancouver, easily their crown dish. I also tried some Fish Pakoras and Lamb Saag and they were absolutely delicious. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared. The service was also excellent as the staff made sure we always had everything we needed.
Overall I head a great experience I definitely will be coming back again and bringing my friends.
For a restaurant that had only been open a week, we were amazed at the quality of food, service and make-over. It used to be the Mug & Musket some years back, then it morphed into first one then another sports bars, neither a big draw.
We tried the Greek platter for two, just so we could sample a variety. Everything was excellent, with only a minor complaint; I found the roast lamb just a little too salty and fatty for my taste, but the rest was delicious and the Calamari was the best I have ever eaten.
Even the salads were first rate, the creamy Greek dressing was really good and the Caesar salad was made with a traditional dressing, that I haven’t tasted in a very long time (it’s the anchovy’s people).
We thought we were as full as possible, but Mike showed up with a complimentary Crème Brule for us to share, he browned it at the table and it was light, delicious and appreciated.
A few weeks later we ordered Take Out, and again we were not disappointed. It was just as good and we were able to drink our own wine.
Surrey needs more restaurants like Greek NightZ.
Great food, great ambience, great service.
I was at Starbucks in Evergreen mall and noticed a new pizza place so I checked it out. They are take and bake which I found out was that I take it home and bake it as they make it fresh before my eyes. They have great fresh ingredients and make their own dough, chop all the veggies and grade the chesse at the store. Great concept, I get all the control and they don't charge tax on the pizza. I ordered the hawaiian and the herb chicken mediterean. I baked the pizzas using their tray and it turned out terrific. My family loved the pizza and it was so easy, You can really tell the difference in taste when truly fresh ingredients are used. I love having the control when to bake it and how crispy I like it. This place is truly a step above the pizzas in the area. I reccomend this place to anyone who enjoys a great tasting pizza. they even have a stuffed pizza which my son really wants to try.......we'll get this one on the weekend. Enjoy everyone.
At the beginning, my husband and I knew it was a new owner since this location has been constantly changing ownership.
However, I really enjoyed this new owner because the foods are great! I've eaten different locations of vietnamese restaurants in Surrey. Pho Tam, All About Pho, Pho 99.
I like this the most because it's not a chain restaurant, rather it's family owned so they do take the time to make sure you get your food right.
I hope the rest of you will give this place a try.
I loved this trip into the past. The restaurant feels like a place I went to as a child. I was there with a friend, we both had the schnitzel after asking other patrons and the wait staff what they recommended. The Wiener Schnitzel was perfectly crisp, the accompanying vegetables, potatoes and purple cabbage were perfect sides. My friend had the Schnitzel topped with mushrooms in Burgundy wine sauce and also enjoyed her meal. We were served promptly, our meal arrived quickly. The banana cream pie for dessert was outstanding, fresh and perfectly balanced between crust and cream. I will plan to come back whenever I want a Classic Austrian meal.
Oh gosh.. How should I start..!
I remember I felt so mad waiting for more than 40 mintutes for my food to be served.
As I was waiting for the food to come out, none of the staff came to even refill my water.
What kind of restaurant is this?!
Anyways, I waited for a long long time.
I ordered chicken teriyaki and special rolls because one of my friends recommended me those.
And guess what? The rolls didn't even come out!
The server apparently forgot about this and bluntly apologizing.
I had to wait for just 40+minutes for freaking chicken!!!
And the chicken sauce was just awful.
Trust me, I went to many other sushi restaurants all over the Vancouver mainland but this was one of those worst nightmares that should be avoided at all cost.
Hubby and I decided to try this place again, to see if they have improved since the last time we went. The staff were courteous and polite, there were adults working, our take out order was on time and the food was fantastic. We are thrilled with the improvement, and will definitely return again. We highly recommend this place!!
The food at Curry Sensations just keeps getting better and better! We often order take out food but last week we ate in the restaurant and tried the chicken pakora, mixed veggie platter, chicken korma and butter chicken which were excellent. Thank you for your great friendly service and awesome food! c u agian
We chose Pelago's to host our daughter's 1st birthday party in April 2012. I am very late in writing this review, but better late than never....
We had approximately 55 guests, and chose the set menu with warm appetizers for our daytime party. The owner was very accomodating right from the first meeting we had, where we discussed menu options and other party details. The staff who served us were warm and friendly, and got the job done without a hitch.
Our guests were wowed by the quality and quanitity of food, and this is no small feat, considering our family is Eastern European, and food/drink is extremely important. The roast lamb was a standout!
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Pelago's for anyone needing to accomodate a larger party. It was easy, the ambiance was great, the food was great, and if you shop around a bit, you will be very hard pressed to find all of the above for the value you get.
Thank you for making the celebration of our little girl's first birthday so memorable for us Pelago's!
My biggest complaint is the service. It's slow. I went there, and they where completely empty. Even then, it took five-ten minutes to get my drink. My appetizer came out with my meal. The food is okay, but does not make up for the service. I may order takeout, but never dining in again.
I usually order Combo #1 and it lasts me dinner & lunch the next day. All the meals are quite large and very well priced. The beef pho is always really good too and they have really large and tasty salad rolls here. Everything I have had here has been delicious, never a bad meal.
The service is attentive, but not overly friendly. The restaurant is also not the most amazing looking, but we usually order take out so it's not a problem.
I was told to come here by a friend of mine, so I decided to give it a shot. I never used to go for Mexican food, but I wanted to more often. so I started coming here with my wife. We usually get the same thing. I get a beef or chicken Burrito with half green/half red salsa baked in the oven. My wife is Vegan, so she gets the Vegetarian Burrito the same way with half green/half red salsa. They come in a pretty large size. I enjoy the flavors and texture. I have no complaints about the food. Same with my wife. She says its the best Vegetarian Burrito she's had. Usually when we go, there's only like 1-2 people in there, so its nice a quiet. The staff are friendly, as it is a Family owned restaurant. I have been here a total of about 5 times and all the times I have been here, it has been the same experience. I will try other Mexican restaurants to compare, but as for now, this is my place...
Working nearby, a few coworkers and I have been long awaiting Neptune to open.
We gave it a try about the 3rd day they opened. They have an entrance directly from the mall, as well as from the parking lot outside. Also they have a Wonton Noodle restaurant built into the corner as well (which we will try on another day!)
The restaurant was busy but not totally full at 11am on a Tuesday. We were promptly greeted and seated.
The restaurant is brand new, and felt a bit more modern than most high end Chinese restaurants.
There were just 2 of us, and we ordered a handful of dim sum items. Each item ranges from around $3.50 - 8.50. Not surprisingly there weren't many at the $3.50 range.
We ordered a few staple items like Shrimp Dumplings, Sticky Rice, Steamed Rice Rolls, etc.
Overall everything was fresh and tasty. Portions were average, but not skimpy.
Service wise, we've never had such good service. Tea pots were perpetually refilled, and they even changed our plates at least 2-3 times (almost unheard of for dim sum).
The bill for the 2 of us, after 6 dishes, was quite reasonable.
The one hiccup was when we paid the bill. It took forever to get our change, and one of the servers was scolded by the floor manager right in front of us which was a bit of a turn off.
Overall we were quite impressed, and will certainly return again.
Amazing! Speak of express (and rushed) service - today's mother's day dinner will be one of the most memorable ones. We (party of four) were in the restaurant at 6:30 p.m. (beat the rush) and ordered wine (the server insisted on us placing the order for the food too immediately); and got the drinks and the food delivered at the same time.
Several (and repeated) visits by the server asking us "What else?" put us off a little bit. And before we could even finish our drinks and food, the junior server started clearing our cutlery (and the table); and the bill came too promptly. No desserts - "just get out so we can put some more people in your place". Reminded us of the assembly type of food restaurant. Eat, pay and run!
Well, the food is really very good - so next time, I shall never go to this place on a busy day. And if we go, it will ONLY be for the good food.
For service, I guess I shall have to go to some other place.
We waited over an hour for our food to be delivered, the order that was finally delivered was wrong, he left without giving us the complete order, when confronted we were told it was our fault and that the rest of the order would not be delivered to us even though we were charged for it already. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER especially coming from the owner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
