Went here with the kids and some friends. We came on a Wednesday and they had this special, a donair with two helping of meats and a pop for $7.99. When I received it, I was pleasantly surprised from the size and even more so from the taste. I had chicken and lamb and the flavour and the fresh ingredients made this now my go to donair place. I had some meats from other donairs places and it tasted old and processed. But here it was fresh and flavourful. The price reflects the portion. I was very impressed with everything, from the service all the way to the tasty lunch. The owner was very nice, he offered the kids a juice bottle each for free. Very nice of him to do that, now he has a loyal customer for being. Will be returning when I am craving some delicious donairs.
ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. We ordered a chicken/pizza combo. The chicken was tolerable but the pizza was discusting from the crust to the scant toppings and gross flavor. To be honest- I wouldn't believe the high ratings this place gets. This was my second time here and both times it wasted my money and made my taste buds mad! Pizza is supposed to taste like pizza, otherwise call it something else.
This local restaurant has great take out and eat in food!! Their portions are large, but not too large. They don't skimp on cheese when it comes to pizza and pasta, and the staff is friendly and knowlegeable. The owners are great and are always working in the restaurant. I don't think I've ever been there when they weren't working there. Dine in, Take out, you're going to get great, hot fresh food everytime!
Afghan Chopan Kabab House located in Surrey, BC is one nasty place to dine, and I will never ever go there AGAIN. The restaurant is supposed to be an Afghan Authentic Restaurant....,but all they play on the stereo and TVs are Indian, Arab, and Islamic songs, but that is not all. The descriptions of some foods listed on their menu does not match what they serve. Their servers does not seem to care at all if you need anything and totally ignore you. When you order food for the kids, the servers suggest you straight out to order "French Fries" instead Afghani food, because all their foods are too spicy for the kids, or do not want to take an extra step to prepare meals for the kids that are not spicy, or have a kids menu. As far as customer service is concerned... there is NONE and do not even ask because, they will give you attitude straight out. If you are not careful, or do not keep a good track what you have ordered, they over charge you for items you have not ordered at all, or multiply some of your orders by two or three. So, if you do not want to burn your money, have a pleasant experience, and true Afghan Cuisine please DO NOT GO THERE !!!
An unexpected stop at Texx burger today. Greeted by a wonderful man perhaps the owner? Great sense of humour and very friendly!
I had the single cheese burger with mayo, pickles, ketchup and onions. WOW, so good, great flavor. And toppings are free.
rainbowcrab had the single cheese burger with bacon, and she loved the burger giving it an 8 out of 10!
Fries are hand made but a small one is good for 2 people it is so big!
We will be back!
We want to try the Nathan's hot dog next time we go.
Dine in or take out or deliver - all are excellent! I have been a patron for years and have never been disappointed! Generous helpings at great prices and the staff are awesome.
Would definitely return as well as recommend this restaurant to others and for many years even before they relocated.
Judging by the reviews here, I have to suspect most have been left by management or friends as most are first time reviewers. I have been here 3 times but likely won't be back as there are so many other Indian restaurants in the Surrey area that are better overall.
My main complaint is the chintzy servings of meat in the entrees. Most other Indian restaurants give twice as much or more. They would certainly get a much better rating if they increased that in their portions, as the flavor of the sauces is as good as any others I've tried.
Certainly the service was up to par...friendly and efficient and the ambiance is nice and clean.....but how about putting in more that the 5 or 6 small pieces that seem to come in each order
I ordered pizza from here tonight at 10pm, and I was told it would be here in 40 minutes. At 11pm I call to see where my food was and the lady that took my order apologizes for the delay due to the weather conditions. After another 20 minutes at 11;20 the driver calls me and asks me if he had the RIGHT ADDRESS? Another 15 minutes passes by and I get another call saying the food should be there right now. I wait for another 10 minutes and finally give up, called cammy's told the lady to cancel my order I was way too hungry to wait any longer right when I was about to hang up I could hear her call me a BITCH to someone else there. I called up another place and my food came in 30 minutes. At 12:20 I get a call from Cammy's Pizza's driver telling me he's outside my house and I need to come pay for the food?! What kind of employees or service is that? If I knew these people were so ridiculously late with every order I would have never ordered from them.
NEVER ORDER FROM THEM!
Went there yesterday with a groupon for the first time. Without groupon wouldn't even know there is a restaurant.......woowwww what a food amazing....been to many indian restaurant but this is by far the best. I tried Chicken korma, Curry Mussels and butter chiken all were so good. The staff is nice too. Would definately recommend this place to go
Tried the Central City Brewing with coworkers, but unsure if we'll go again. The food was good. We ordered chicken fingers (crispy on the outside and tender inside), a salad with grilled salmon and shrimp, and meat pizza (my favorite item of the meal). Drinks were your run of the mill cocktails (no mixologists here) but for five dollars, definitely a good deal.
Too bad the food was over shadowed by a rude hostess with attitude. When I arrived, she was chatting with a coworker and completely ignored me. When she finally acknowledged me, I told her I had a reservation and she said "It will be a few minutes." This confused me since it was 5:30pm and the restaurant was not even half full. My dining companions were already seated, which I told her as well. I'm not really sure why she made me stand there and wait while she tapped on the computer. She then tells me that she was unable to find my reservation. I mention it was booked through Open Table and was getting my phone out to show the confirmation when another staff member came and saved the situation by bringing me to my table. Later, I get home to realize that she CANCELED my Open Table reservation instead of honouring it.
The mithai sweets at Basant sweets are just awesome. The food is okay to good. Service was good. Ambience is okay and since it is new it is reasonably clean.
will go again to this place to eat. Payal buisness center has bloomed into such a good place to go.
- Kachori - awesome
- Milk Cake -awesome
- ladoo- awesome.
Good food but the dine experience was really poor, the waiteress was borderline rude. Washroom was very dirty and there was no toilet paper. Cutlery was all scratched up. The place had an overall rundown feel and looks like a halwai shop in India. The prices were middle of the pack though so expected better from the place.
- Bhindi - awesome
- Naan and other bread - good
- Paneer - awesome
- kachori - so so
- gujiya - stale
- achar - stale
Might take-out but will not dine in here again.
I love their steamed buns! Hate the parking, Hate the service....But I will and have put up with that for years and I would still go back! If parking is an issue (Which it is in Surrey), there are locations in Richmond and Vancouver Chinatown. They do have a website too!
Had horrible tasting experiance with the take out food for sandwiches and meat pastries.....tastes raw, no good quality ingredients atall....have tried twice since i work in the surrey central mall nearby , dissapointed both times..will advise all my friends not to waste your money here...although service seems friendly, but what good does that do if the first thought in your mind is ..yuck, what a waste of time.
I love their baked goods and their won ton noodle is not bad. Haven't tried the other items. However, the service needs improvement. You can be standing there and waiting but they won't help you until they are finish talking to one another. They one lady that I see all the time always seems so grumpy and never smiles. I sometimes feel rushed when I'm deciding what I want. Parking is a nightmare.
Good food. The service can be poor at times, especially during lunch time. We ordered 2 platters to go but didn't realize that they forgot our pita bread until we got back to work. We called them to complain and because they were busy in store they sounded rude on the phone and quickly hung up after they told us to come back and get it. We drove all the way back and the guy just quickly gave us the pita bread and went about his business with the next customer. Nothing extra and importantly not even an apology. We still go here when we are craving donair but that one time did leave a scar. I have to mention that the ladies that work there are much friendlier.
We are a big fan of Akasaka and decided to try this place through a friend's recommendation. Overall it isn't bad and better than some others we've tried in Surrey but for the price we paid for our dinner we would prefer to go to Akasaka. We ordered the Ebi Mayo, Tiger Roll, Spicy Roll, Sockeye Salmon Sashimi, and one other roll with scallop. The Tiger Roll was HUGE and was my favorite out of all the other dishes. The Spicy Ramen tasted like instant noodles with an egg and chopped up veggies which I could've made at home for a fraction of the price.
Tried it for the first time because we happened to drive by and saw their Special Sign. Ordered 2 Dynamite Rolls and 2 Negitoro Rolls to go. Dynamite Rolls were average, nothing special that I couldn't get elsewhere but the Negitoro Rolls were nasty. The Tuna didn't taste fresh, had a fishy taste, ate one piece and had to throw away the rest. I probably won't go here again since there are better places around the area.
My family have always lived in Vancouver and love eating out. Sushi is one of my favorites so when we had to move to Surrey for business I was upset to be so far away from all my favorite restaurants. A friend recommended us to Akasaka and were pleasantly impressed. Everything is fresh and their sauces are unique. Some of our favorites are Ebi Mayo, Queen's Roll, Popcorn Scallop, Scallop Salad, Sockeye Salmon Sashimi. Pretty much any or their specialty rolls are good. Service is friendly however, they are not too good when it comes to large parties, had some mistakes on our orders but then again most restaurants will get that once and awhile.
The staff were awesome. Welcomed us with a smile. Asked what we would like. Waited patiently while we decided and offered suggestions to us. Reminded us we could get it toasted & asked which cheese we would like. Still smiling & encouraging she moved us to the fresh vegetable section. Working with us to complete our sandwiches she continued to smile & listen to us as we chose our selections even tho the line was growing behind us. She never made us feel we were taking too long & completed our experience by thanking us for coming in. Loved it!
