Fantastic!!

Me and my family went here for a lunch (which ultimately became dinner) and fed a total of 6 people for 80$ it was pretty awesome! They had tons of variation from fish 'n chips to a roast turkey dinner to grilled cheese (and they had lots to drink). I found that it was not the best looking place but it was pretty good and it was cheap. The food was mediocre (it could have had a little bit more flavor/spices) but it was decent. The bakery was awesome (some great pumpkin pie) but they could have laid off the cream a little bit but everything else was wonderful including the service. All in all I would DEFINITELY come back!!!!

SERVICE CHARGE for a party of SIX! What the HECK?
By G of Fleetwood Surrey (1 Review)

The food was certainly okay, not good not bad.
The place is small and crammed, but here is the thing that really put me off.
Friends and I were eating dinner there one night - a part of SIX. YES SIX only and they automatically included a 15% SERVICE CHARGE to our bill!
When did small sushi resturants started charging SERVICE FEE of 15% for a party of SIX!!!!!
Seriously, the service was just okay. (the waitress kept asking us if we wanted the bill when we were clearly not done our dinner and they automatically tag on a 15% service charge!)
My friends and I will be dinning else where from now on. Heck there is another japanese resturant just across the street from these guys

Cashier has a problem

We always go to this place when we are in the mall but not so lately since we notice the service crew is becoming unfriendly. We tried eating here again yesterday at around 12:30pm but decided to cancel our order because of the cashier who was really rude to us and obviously was having a very bad day. My daughter ordered for herself and she was snapped at with "What?' She was obviously surprised with her reaction but we let that one go. After I paid the bill, she was insisting that I said no to the Volcano Roll where in fact I said I will try it. I didn't order anything for myself so I am sure I was not mistaken. I asked her what seems to be the problem since we are just trying to make an order and her immediate response was "Me!" She could have simply accepted her mistake or better yet, not reported for work on that day if she can't handle her service job well. We walked out feeling disappointed and would surely tell our friends about our bad experience.

Couldn't agree more with the other reviewer.
Enjoyed a wonderful night at the Bistro last friday. So happy to have such a great room so close to my home to enjoy great food and amazing performers. Hat's off to restaurant for bringing in very high quality musicians to compliment this establishment. Friday was Neil Harnett with special guest, and very local boy, Steve Gidora on mandolin. They were amazing, especially playing Neil's original material. I get out and see a lot of live music and mostly have to travel downtown. To be able to enjoy such a high caliber of music so close to home (staggering distance) is one thing but to do so enjoying fine French Cuisine with lots of local micro beer on tap puts it over the top. Overall value isn't just the food, local beer and wine which is really great but to combine this with the entertainment takes it a step up for the Newton area and Surrey in general. We shared and enjoyed a seared Ahi tuna salad, Tourtiere pie Quebec style and tempura prawns.

Satisfying
By eating good food of Vancouver (128 Reviews)
Submitted Sunday, August 18, 2013 - 1:23pm [Dine in]

Came here with one of my friends yesterday evening for dinner after going bowling at The Dell Lanes.

I've gone to the Knight and Day in Vancouver several times, but it was my second time at this location. Upon arriving the restaurant was kind of empty, so we were seated immediately. My friend and I were trying to decide what to get. The waitress asked us if we wanted anything to drink (we both stuck with water)

After a few moments, we finally decided what we wanted. I ordered a double cheeseburger with fries (surprise surprise) and my friend ordered a Fettucini Alfredo. I had asked how much an extra patty would cost (It was $4....a little expensive, but got the double anyways) on the menu it said the patties were 7 oz. when our food came, it didn't look like it was that big. I had gotten a burger at Milestones before that they say was 7 oz and it seemed bigger (but then again i'm no mathemagician) but anyhow it was ok. the fries were steak cut fries (which were good) the burger was average.

My friend who is not a big eater actually gave me half their pasta. It wasn't really that great. I remember the fettucini alfredo at the Vancouver location being much better. I would have to say, that it was below par.

Anyhow, our bill came to $29. I have to say that I was pleased with that (2 meals for $29 at a restaurant these days isn't bad at all) we did after all enjoy our food, and we really like the ambiance.

All in all it was good and we enjoyed our visit. We will be back

CHINESE FOOD NAZI! Worst service I have ever experienced
By clayton of surrey (1 Review)

For everyone who has seen a episode of Seinfeld called "Soup Nazi" this is a perfect example of the treatment you will receive here. DO NOT EAT HERE, the attitude of the stone faced waitresses and service is absolutely atrocious, especially the older server who will argue with you if the tip is not enough. In our case she looked at my payment on the bill tray with contempt, moves the money around with a chop stick, determined if I left at least 10% tip and if not watch out! She will confront you and raise her voice for everyone to hear, it's like she's an alien from another parallel universe, never seen anything like it.
I heard from a friend who witnessed this server run after a customer who did not leave a tip, and saw an ugly argument ensue between the two.
Money is the bottom line here and nothing else. I don't understand how they continue to stay in business.
It's a shame as the food is quite decent for the price.

Great tasting local food with an awesome interior

This place is a hidden gem in Surrey. My husband and I checked it our for the first time last night with a Groupon. The food was excellent with many items made in house and most items locally sourced. Even their beer and wine list was exclusively local to BC, mainly the lower mainland. Items were great quality and the portion sizes were pretty good for the size. The interior looks really neat, not something you expect to find in Surrey at all. Our server seemed inexperienced and almost awkward/uncomfortable but it wasn't awful service. This place definitely could have been downtown. If you want a younger place to go with friends or even on a date check this place out! You won't be disappointed!

We have been going to Pelagos for years and always enjoy the food. Everything is tasty and the portions are great. Their spinach pie is one of the best I have had and their souvlaki is always good. Hummus and tzatziki are some of the best I have ever had as well. The service is inconsistent though - sometimes it takes forever to get the server's attention and getting the bill and paying it is almost always a bit of a wait. Can't understand why they only serve lunch on Friday, Saturday and Sunday though. During the summer I am sure they would be busy if they were open for lunch more often. In terms of location - it doesn't get much better! Awesome to have some great food right on the beach!

My loyalty to this franchise can be outlined by the fact that I drive out from Delta atleast twice a month. On the way, I pass numerous pizza stores but I cannot resist the pull of this store. They make and cut the fresh ingredients right infront of you. They make their own dough and grade the chesse at the store. Great concept, I get all the control and they don't charge tax on the pizza. My family loves the pizza and it was so easy, You can really tell the difference in taste when truly fresh ingredients are used. They bake the pizza they way the customer wants and it turns out great. Truly Amazing and I recommend it to to everyone, whether pizza is their thing or not as I guarantee you will not be let down.

Great new addition to Chinese food in Surrey
By Huge of Surrey (139 Reviews)
Submitted Thursday, August 8, 2013 - 6:44pm [Dine in]

Went here with the family for dinner. We ordered the Curry beef brisket with steam rice, Roasted pork and vegetables on steam rice, Fried beef with rice noodles and if you spend over $25 you can get deep fried garlic pork for $5. So I found out that the restaurant is less than a year old. The food was very good but there could be a bit more meat in the Curry Beef brisket with steam rice and the Fried beef with rice noodles. But overall the food was tasty, hot and fresh. The servers were very friendly and I noticed one of the ladies was cleaning the bar-b-q station area. It would appear that they take cleaniness seriously there. The washroom was actually a washroom and not a storage room. I was very impressed and will be returning to this establishment when I ever have the craving for Chinese food. Good first impression.

They offer amazing, delectable sweets that are low in sugar and taste incredible. The sweets are always fresh, divine and taste amazing. They also carry delicious bengali items which are hard to find in surrey. They have excellent customer service and the restaurant is always clean.

Indian food is made in less oil but still tastes amazing.

They're south indian food is to die for. My favourites are the noodles and paneer manchurian. I also love their wide variety of dosas.
Very authentic sweets and food, highly recommended it

Doing everything right

This place does everything right. Whether it is from service to the food, they know how it’s done.

As already mentioned, the interior design is amazing, there’s no question about it. But for a change, my wife and I decided to sit out on their patio. And let me say, their patio is equally as appealing as the inside. The feel is as if you are in a secret garden overlooking the ocean. Unlike the other restaurants here in Langley, you are not immersed in a parking lot, which is a definite plus.

The service has always been exceptional. She was friendly, had a great personality, and just ‘well put together’. It’s hard to explain but all the servers here are beautiful but in a classy way. Even by looking around, you can tell that the staff enjoys working here.

Our server suggested some new items that they featured off of their ‘feature menu’. It’s nice to see a Greek restaurant changing things up a bit. I decided to go for their two-way pork medallions. This was a good combination as each medallion was topped with a fig sauce (wow), and the other with a peppercorn sauce. My wife decided to have appetizers of the Mini-feta burgers and a spanakopita as her main meal. No complaints there, as the mini-burgers were homemade and the spanakopita was made of fresh ingredients.

Overall, we had a great evening at Galini. We ended up spending hours out on their patio, and as an added plus, the heat lamps were turned on, and blankets were given to us as the sun began to set. The portions are great – plenty for leftovers for lunch the next day, and a definite recommendation for all to come try this place out.

I checked menu and order wings for appetizer, they came after 10 minutes and felt sorry, I ordered shrimps as appetizer, and they came after 10 minutes saying we are sorry sir, we don’t have what you order. My wife finally decided to ordered meal, we almost had to order what they had.

Nobody will ask you for water, they will not come back to ask you for bread, and there is a very good reason for that, there are more managers and only one waiters.

First time there. First thing to say it is very clean for a typical Indian.

Didn't really try any of their sweets except for the Kulfi which was very good so maybe the sweet side of things is their forte.

The South Indian stuff - Dosa, Idli, Vada etc were not bad at all - perfectly passable though have had much better South Indian.

The North Indian food - pakoras, samosas, chole batura etc were perfectly fine and not particularly oily which was good - again passable but not outstanding in any way.

The Chinese stuff was really poor - The Gobi and Paneer Manchurian possibly the worst I've ever had in my life - so sour. The Tamarind rice wasn't much better. The noodles were so so. Maybe the Chinese food is supposed to be on the sour side but think they have got it wrong with their sauces as it seemed over vinegary.

Service and courtesy very good and the waitress was forever smiling which was nice. So overall I'd say ok but I'd avoid the Chinese side of the menu if returning.

Went here with the kids and some friends. We came on a Wednesday and they had this special, a donair with two helping of meats and a pop for $7.99. When I received it, I was pleasantly surprised from the size and even more so from the taste. I had chicken and lamb and the flavour and the fresh ingredients made this now my go to donair place. I had some meats from other donairs places and it tasted old and processed. But here it was fresh and flavourful. The price reflects the portion. I was very impressed with everything, from the service all the way to the tasty lunch. The owner was very nice, he offered the kids a juice bottle each for free. Very nice of him to do that, now he has a loyal customer for being. Will be returning when I am craving some delicious donairs.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. We ordered a chicken/pizza combo. The chicken was tolerable but the pizza was discusting from the crust to the scant toppings and gross flavor. To be honest- I wouldn't believe the high ratings this place gets. This was my second time here and both times it wasted my money and made my taste buds mad! Pizza is supposed to taste like pizza, otherwise call it something else.
