Expensive for what you get

It's pretty expensive, so I usually steer clear but when I do go it's always very nice. I love the food (and yeah, it has absolutely been Canadianized but it's still good) and the service deserves the 5-star rating for every time I've been. The staff is so enthusiastic, and interestingly come from a wide variety of backgrounds rather than being all-Asian. This really helps project their Canadian fusion feel, and Wok Box is a cool blend of east-meets-west that is a good little takeout dinner you can grab rather than standard fast food.

But beware the price, because even for a small box you're going to be getting into the $8-9 range, and the small box is smaaaall.

Feel free to ask for suggestions too, they'll happily give you what turned out to be great advice for me. I loved their choices.

New moms and dads have a place they can go!

My husband and I took our 5 month old to Wok Box for the first time a few nights ago and it was great. Being new parents we don't want to go to expensive places that don't want or accomodate kids and we want to keep our budget in line. Wok Box gave us the feel of being in a moxie's or cactus without paying the price or disturbing other diners. Food was fast, tasty and really well priced. You order at the counter but they bring you the food and the owner came over and asked us how everything was. Not what we expected at all. Great food, Great service. My husband even bought tickets for a hockey bus for the canucks and that was only $45. They had tv's too. We'll be back.

Looks good...taste not so good..

1st time at a Wok Box. There was nothing else around besides Subway next door. Nice decor. Sat ourselves down and went up to the counter to order. Menu is a bit confusing with too many options. Chinese, Vietnamese, and Korean food all avaliable. Girl at the cash was not able to give suggestions. Ended up ordering 2 lunch box size stirfry (1 mongolian beef, 1 chicken teriyaki), and a Ginger beef with rice. Upgraded each meal with a spring roll and a drink for $2.50 more. came to $30.

Lunch box stirfry was way over-sauced. They poured on the teriyaki sauce. Only 3 strands of chicken in one dish and the other had 5 pieces of beef. We were not able to continue with the chicken dish due to the saltiness of the food. The rice for the beef was mushy and cold. The surprise was when we took a bite of the spring roll. It was not only unflavourful but FROZEN inside. We quickly brought them back and they had to redo the order. Ginger beef was good but not exceptional. Again too much sauce. Portion is a little small for $10. You can get better tasting food at any other food court for less than that price. Don't think we will be back there again.

The only reason I felt it necesarry to write a review for this restaraunt was the strange negative review below. I've been to this location of Wok Box a couple times with my husband and are aware that the accusations below are false.
We usually eat in instead of getting take out which seems to be more popular.
The stirfrys we ordered were served in PORCELINE bowls not on paper plates, and no they didn't charge us for this.
There are complimentary soy, sri racha and hoisin sauces and all tables in the restaraunt, which were once again free to use.
After ordering our food we stood and watched it be prepared and have never seen 'pre made food sitting on a heat lamp'.
Although it is technically fast food Wok Box has quality food and a pleasant atmosphere. Most of their food is made with fresh veggies, (I don't believe its possible for vegetables to contain MSG but I could be wrong,) so its a good alternative to SubWay for quick healthy food.
After reading the last review I seriously question if the reviewer has actually been to this restaraunt.

Not authentic asian food

I tried this place and did not feel it authentic enough. (Sure the ambience was great).
I had the lemon chicken with rice and 2 spring rolls and it came to $15 including tax. The lemon chicken was average and there was no vegetables included.
My friend had the Pad Thai and it came with 4 thin slices of beef with some bean sprout on rice and the whole thing was sweet. He stopped eating after 4 mouthfuls.
I have stayed in various asian countries and must say that the menu at wok box seems to have been modified for the "canadian taste" buds.
If you are looking for asian food, you are better off going to some Chinese or Vietnamese restaurant for half the price.
