Uneven experience...

Went here yesterday for their lunch special ($9.95) at around 2 PM... They serve until 3 PM. The quality/value of the food was quite good - butter chicken, aloo gobi, naan and curried lentils were all well prepared and flavourful... The quality was good... the quantity... not so much. I had to fish the last remaining nuggets of butter chicken out of a swimming pool of butter chicken gravy. A couple of the hot plates were empty because the kitchen staff didn't bother re-filling the food. As well, I asked for a mango lassi (pretty standard for a northern Indian restaurant) but they didn't have any. The service is hit and miss with only 1 waiter for the whole place. I don't know whether these guys are trying to be a restaurant or a sports bar... 5 or 6 TVs inside the cavernous interior, two or three TVs blaring different programs... It wasn't the most conducive environment to enjoy lunch while reading the paper.

If you go for the lunch special, go at 11:30 when it starts.

Good deal for a yummy lunch buffet!

I'd seen the signs but never ventured in til recently, and I'm so glad I did! This place is five minutes from my work and offers a very reasonably priced lunch buffet for $8.95 from 11am - 3pm. (I hope they don't raise the price as I don't eat that much, and would accordingly tip less!) I like this place so much that I've been to it three times in the past two months. I like spicy, warming foods in winter, and I adore naan.

There are comfy booths and tables and its decor is a cross between a restaurant and pub.

A barometer for me for Indian places is the butter chicken. The one here isn't bright red with artificial food colouring, and the boneless chunks of leg meat are cooked in a rosy tomato cream sauce.

The items on the buffet change daily, a constant is the butter chicken and curry chicken. The veggie dishes are pretty good, usually lentils, mixed veggies (peas, carrots, cauliflower, mushroom etc.). Sometimes the yogurt raita is included. Salad is included. They offer tandoori chicken only once a week on the buffet.

I always request fresh naan and they gladly do that. Something new they have is the fried bread, batura, it's greasy but delicious.

I'm usually too stuffed for dessert, but they have jalebi or rice pudding etc.

Overall the selection isn't that huge 2-3 meat dishes, 4-6 veggie dishes and fresh naan. The solid food quality makes up for this though.

There sadly aren't that many Indian buffets in Surrey any longer, so I hope this one thrives. It seems like it's slowly being found. Do note that they usually don't refill all items to the buffet past 1:30pm (besides main items like butter chicken and naan/rice etc.). So if you like something that is running low, take extras.

Overall, I liked the North Indian food and heartily recommend this place! The server who's a guy is really nice, the tall skinny girl server seemed new and wasn't that helpful.

Went here with a friend for lunch. When we entered there was no staff in sight. We waited for a few minutes and then we had to hunt down someone. The staff told us to sit anywhere we wanted. We helped ourself to the buffet lunch. Then we wondered where the staff to offer us some water. Again we had to hunt down the staff. Finally the staff offered us and another table some water. The naan was not fresh and we had to wait for the kitchen to bake some more. There was a little bit of rice that we ate but it was never refilled. I guess since there was not too many customers they opted not to refill the rice. The staff was apologetic for the lack of service as I belief that they were short staff. I noticed that there were several tables that was not cleared and only 3 tables occupied. I saw two staff working the floor. I guess they were having a off day. Overall I am not opposed to coming back, but I will try others before I do as I was not overly impressed with this dining experience.

After sitting on the patio at Red Robin for an hour with no service aside from getting our drinks and then being completely ignored and/or forgotten, our group complained and left. Where to now?

Village Tandoori was just across the way, and having not had indian for quite some time, we ventured over. We were not disappointed!

We were served heaps of food, the service was spot on, the place was clean and cool and the seating was very comfortable.

I did end up ordering more than we could eat because I didn't know how big the servings were, but then again I didn't ask. We're going back again tonight - and will continue to do so often. This restaurant is awesome! Probably got the biggest tip I've ever given to any place I've eaten.

My wife and I decided to try this place out, we have driven past it many times on King George Hwy. We ordered the butter chicken, which tasted great with the perfect amount of seasonings, i also loved how you could see the chefs right at work. With that we decided to try the garlic naan, best naan i have ever tasted as it came out hot, was made fresh and melted in your mouth! I could eat that naan by itself.

For an appy we tried the fish pakora, great flavour and all white meat fish. Overall the experience was great, we would definatly recommend it to others and we will be back ourselves!

We booked this restaurant for a bridal shower because of good location, capacity size and food. It was a memorable experience, they booked off half the restaurant for us and had a hot, tasty buffet.

I recommend people try it out, the sign said their buffet lunch special was only $8.95 and the atmosphere is clean and inviting!
