Villa Verdi offers fine traditional Italian dining.
My normal Italian restaurant closed so I had to find a substitute for my pasta fix, so I decided to try Villa Verdi. It looks simple from the street but inside its very nicely decorated. This is higher end Italian food and very very rich with lots of butter and cream.
I went during lunch and it seems like they have a regular loyal clientele which is always a good sign. I enjoyed my lunch although I found the butter flavour a bit overpowering in my fettucine alfredo (yes I'm not such a fan of butter go figure). Next time I'll try one of their other lunch specials.
Lunch is about $20. The service is old-school impeccable. Worth a try if you are in the mood for a leisurely glamorous black and white movie feel italian meal. Would be perfect for a date.
My fiance and I love Italian food. We have lived in Tuscany, and extensivley traveled Italy, we are always excited to try any new Italian restaurant we might happen to come across. The service at Villa Verdi was impeccable, fine dining style as mentioned in a previous review. My "Linguini al Pesto" was fantastic, rich and creamy, like it should be, my finace was a little less impressed with his "Spaghetti al Carbonara" feeling it lacked in flavor. We both agreed the Tiramisu was fantastic. Will say it was a little pricey considering portion sizes, with this said, pasta is never considered a main course in Italy, but more of a first course to be followed by a meat and vegetable course, I beleive this is what Villa Verdi is going for....would definatley reccomend checking it out for a multi course meal, and or a special occasion.
Three of us had dinner here the other night and were extremely impressed with every aspect of the whole dinig experience.
The food was great - scallop appetizer and tiramisu were exceptional.
Service - wow! Extremely impressive - very attentive and inviting.
It's a bit of an unassuming restaurant if you're driving by, but it's definately worth a stop.
It's great to have a place like this in Surrey. For me, the sign of a really good restaurant is if we would want to brave traffic and go out of our way just to dine there. I think this is one of those places and if it happened to be in Vancouver or Burnaby we would absolutely make the trip.
Service was good but the food fell short. The bread was good. Next time we're going to either Piazza Dario on Grandview where you get twice the ambiance and outstanding food for an additional 20% or DaMario on Hastings for incredible food and value. We wanted to try out something new in the Surrey area but this just wasn't a hit unfortunately. We're getting very picky about food lately so not everyone may agree with this review. Try at your own risk and you may like it, we weren't offended by it but we're not going back either.
When you go out to dine with good friends on the spur of the moment and feel like Italian, may I strongly suggest the Villa Verdi in Surrey?
For more than 14 years this little pink gem has been pleasing it's clientele with consistent good Italian fare.
The always courteous staff made you feels welcome without the stuffiness that most other restaurants of this calibre try to pull off.
It's honest to goodness genuine and nice to feel at ease.
The menu is basic but really has been well rehearsed by the chef.
Our friends have never eaten there before but have always wanted to.
The service was first class as was all our food.
How often do you get four people sharing their dinners just so each can experience the great flavours of their chosen dish?
It made us all feel happy and well fed.
The Villa Verdi sure is a gem that pleases in so many ways.
The Bresaola Air Dried Beef and Camboroni Prawns were a great starter.
The Lasagne is killer and Scalloppine Di Vitello cuts like butter.
The Cannelloni and Alfredo Di Mare could not be better.
Dress up or down it makes no difference.
The food and the staff will make you feel warm and fuzzy.
Check it out and see for yourself
You' will be another believer that there still are good old fashioned restaurants that just want to please.
Enjoyed a meal at this establishment this week. Was greeted warmly and offered a choice of seats. The tables had cloth tablecloths and candles. Definitely somewhere you go for a special date. I was sad to learn they no longer had the venison pate I had enjoyed there a number of years ago. The waiter listened to our queries about the wine and offered an excellent wine. The food was tasty, well presented and was of appropriate amounts. The waiter was attentive but not overbearing. We would definitely go back.
This little restaurant is one of my favorites for decor and service. The once funeral home sort of set me back a bit however once we were seated it was all forgoten.
The host made usvery comfortable as he could tell we were not use to dining is such a high end room.
Service was stellar. The food was fantastic, even thogh we havd little idea of what we ordered as the menu titles were compleatlt Italian.
Four thumbs up for Villa Verdi
We had dinner at this place the other night. The service was very good, the food left allot to be desired for the price. For the appetizer, (Caprese), the basil was wilted, and the ingredients were not fresh. For the main course, the wifes was pretty good, while mine had pasta which was under-cooked (I did not finish the meal). I would not complain, howvever for the price the cooking is beer league, and I feel they should find a real chef, not an amateur. We will not be back.
