We noticed a new Vera's in Surrey and decided to try it, since it's been a while since we've had Vera's burgers. My bf and I got two Vera's Burger combos with the works. Burgers were tasty but the problem was both patties in the burgers were pink in the middle! We were in a hurry, so we ate around the pink parts rather than complain, but it definitely didn't make for a good experience. Fries were over-oily and it seemed like they were dropped in the fryer before the oil was hot enough, allowing them to soak up excess but flavorless oil.
For a price tag of over $10 for each combo (includes pop), I can easily find many other burger joints out there.
Probably will not be back.
This is the place to go for a really different burger, and I've never seen it duplicated, try their fries too because none of them seem generic or cookie cutter like the big chains. Been makin em retro since 20 years I think. I Vote them best burger in Canada because of the taste and the size. If your from outside this area you better hope they expand and get there soon cause you are missing out.. A simple and still reasonably priced burger, in a yummy 'secret recepie' sauce. The decor is Ok and the girls they hire only average but still I look forward to putting my fangs into Vera all the time
We ate here twice. Only because i forgot how mediocre the burger was.
They're charging a lot for what you get. There is absolutely no ambiance, but that's hardly why i go out for a burger. Their facility is absolutely filthy behind the counter. If they're going to let ppl see what's going on back there they should at least try to keep it moderately clean. It was gross, and what made it worse was watching the ham handed 'chef' tossing around food, dropping food all over then walking in it,etc. The floor was absolutely discusting back there. I won't be going back. If the burgers were incredible, i would get over the fact they're piggies. They're not.
A good place for takeout - phone ahead and let them tell you when it will be ready. Otherwise you'll be sitting or standing around a long time.
Poor ambiance - too noisy and too smoky. Staff who clearly don't care if you have a good experience or not.
Expensive - it's best to go on a Friday when you can get a combo special for just under $10.00
However, they make the best burger in Surrey!
