Togo Sushi offers sushi and other Japanese fare made using fresh, top quality ingredients.
The sushi here is basic, no-frills, solid and fresh. Almost always very good texture and temperature, and if you're just looking for a quick, simple sushi run, this place'll deliver. It's not hit-and-miss either. Seems like it's the same people working every day and the quality barely ever varies.
I have done take-out from here about a dozen times. Even though it is just a bunch of teens working there, the food has been consistently good. Nothing fancy, just fresh clean tasting sushi. It is however always crowded and the few seat they have are cramped.
We always go to this place when we are in the mall but not so lately since we notice the service crew is becoming unfriendly. We tried eating here again yesterday at around 12:30pm but decided to cancel our order because of the cashier who was really rude to us and obviously was having a very bad day. My daughter ordered for herself and she was snapped at with "What?' She was obviously surprised with her reaction but we let that one go. After I paid the bill, she was insisting that I said no to the Volcano Roll where in fact I said I will try it. I didn't order anything for myself so I am sure I was not mistaken. I asked her what seems to be the problem since we are just trying to make an order and her immediate response was "Me!" She could have simply accepted her mistake or better yet, not reported for work on that day if she can't handle her service job well. We walked out feeling disappointed and would surely tell our friends about our bad experience.
We ate lunch at the Togosushi restaurant at Guildford Surrey a couple of days ago. It was terrible. We had Chicken Terriyaki/rice/carro and broccoli. The meal was like eating a micro-waved lean cuisine. It looks to me that they only make fresh sushi, so stay away from anything that has to be cooked as I think everything comes to the restaurant pre done. It cost $7.50 and the sad part is had we been downtown we would have had Terriyaki Bento for less at the Sushi cafe, cooked by authentic Japanese cooks. BAD BAD BAD.
They have very good, solid sushi. They're not enormously humungous that you have absolutely no idea how to eat it; they're moderately sized. Also, since you can see the chefs making it right there, it is good for those picky customers who want this instead of that and lots of this and none of that. Also, I know that they charge for tea, but that's because it's in a disposable coffee-cup thing that you can take with you. And I go there often and it's not just a bunch of teens that work there, unlike what some people above have said; I know this because I'm Asian too, and some Canadians just don't know how to tell our age. Of all the times I've eaten there, I've only seen 2 teens. Also, I think that they deserve some respect because they're always busy and nobody tips them even though I've seen many people just leave their disposable plates and make a huge mess.
This place has a small corner in the mall near London Drugs. They have good solid sushi. It's fresh, especially the ginger ( on the side ), and it doesn't fall apart on you. You can even see the chef make it. It is a small place, so, if there's no place to eat, you can always take it to go. It's just all sushi though. There's no tempura or other unique sushi that you would see in other sushi joints. It's just basic stuff. You don't get the usual free tea like other places. You have to buy it. Overall, it's good basic Sushi.
togo sushi is okay if your craving sushi and you're in the mall but this isnt a place i would drive to. the sushi is average and the prices are reasonable. for some reason everytime i buy sushi here, the sushi rice is quite warm which is not good. it should be at least room temp. if you want sushi in the guildford area, i would suggest guildford sushi house. its located right across the mall behind tim hortons. the sushi is a lot better here and portions are a lot larger.
