Full menu, licensed restaurant serving Indian food. Lunch specials.
I ate dinner here last night and was quite impressed.
I ate a mixed platter that had tandoori chicken, butter chicken, lamb curry, spinach paneer, raita, daal, and rice pudding. All served with naan.
Portions were very large, and everything was great except the daal which had the taste of way too much raw garlic in it. I asked for medium heat, next time I will ask for hot.
The place is quite nice looking, and service was good.
I can't wait to go back.
Not sure what Hirohishiro is talking about. A Taste of Punjab doesn't even offer Dosa's, what a way to give a bad review on the wrong restaurant.
We have been going to this restaurant since they first opened, can honestly say I have never had a bad meal or take out order from here, food is very consistently delicious! Nice size portions and good price for what you get. Service is slow at times but then that doesn't bother me as I know I'm going to enjoy my food.
Went here for lunch on a Friday with a friend at about 11:30. Maybe 2 other tables of people. Waitress took forever to seat us, and just threw the menus on the table. Took awhile to get water, and then we finally ordered. It took 45 minutes to get both of our meals. Just naan, butter chicken and rice. People who came in way after us were served 10 minutes before us, with larger meals. Makes no sense. Maybe because they were Indian customers, and we were not??
The food was just okay. Typical naan, on the thick side, with dry rice. The butter chicken was not anything special, with very dry chicken. Ive had far better. How does this place even have good food reviews?
It took another 25 minutes for the waitress to finally come back and take our plates, and another 10 minutes to get our bill, after I asked her for it (even though all she was doing was setting tables)
Overall, mediocre food, with very poor service. Last time I will go here. Its Surrey, and there are a lot of Indian places to choose from, lots far better than this one.
It's my second time going to this restaurant. Had a positive experience the first time but this time, not so positive. The food was good, but the service was very poor. We informed the waitress that she gave us something that we didn't order and her reply was that she always double checks the orders. She even questioned how long the food has been sitting on the table before we said something. Well....we would have mentioned it earlier if she came to check up on us to see how we were doing during the dining experience. Her tone of voice was raised and not friendly. On top of the poor customer service, I got a parking ticket. Needless to say.....it was one of the most expensive Indian food I've ever had and would not go back there again.
This is officially my fav Indian erstaurant. The food tastes amazing and I have never tried a dish I don't like. The owner is quite pleasant and always comes around. I have to say the waiters are not that great, and I usually have to call them, but the great taste and value of the food makes up for it.
THe butter chicken is superb and I love their naan!
I've been here a few times. Quality is very inconsistent. The last time was lousy, the time before that was great, the time before that the service was lousy. Next time I 'll just go to a different place rather than taking a chance. Sure, the owner comes around to the table to ask about your food. But he doesn't really mean to hear real feedback. The last time we were there, we had a dish that was quite disappointing. It tasted bland and rubbery. So I told him...in a respectful way. You can just tell by looking at the dish that it wasn't prepared properly. Instead of acknowledging it, the owner made some lame excuses about the supplier. Give me a break! Another dish that we ordered was lamb curry. It was ok but not great. While the sauce was good, the chunks of lamb was a bit rubbery. The size of the naan bread had shrunk also. We won't be back!
I would say the service was good they always were there to get you stuff when you needed it.
the food was really good! butter chicken fresh and tomato tasting! The starter dish that has lots of stuff on it is sooooooo good for only 9 buxs. The prices are good seems like most places, get a filling meal for cheap. butter chicken and rice is ten dollars.
the place looks nice and fancy with a couple tvs and big backed benches.
This is our regular Indian restaurant as we are never let down. The food is always delicious with generous size meals for an affordable price. We try something new most times and are always impressed.
The service is really good and every time we eat here, the owner(?) comes out to make sure our meal is going well - something I find very important! Shows that they care about your opinion!
First time I ordered from A Taste of Punjab I was hot happy with the taste of the food. I love spicy food, but this was just overwhelming and made it hard to taste the flavors. However, when our favorite Indian restraunt was closed, we decided to give it another try. Boy was I surprised! Some of the best indian food I've had in a long time. It wasn't too spicy this time and the flavors were just awesome. Keema Nan dipped in Lamb Korma is my favorite meal. The Samosa in the Mixed Snack Platter was also to die for!
This was my second visit to Taste of Punjab. I did not review the first, but suffice to say that I returned. On that visit I would have downrated the service rating, but this visit made it all better and then some.
We ordered from the lunch menu this time, and were nearly overrwhelmed with what appeared to be a huge amount of food. However, we happily enjoyed our lunch and there were no leftovers except an extra dish I had ordered. Lunch was complete including dessert. Their naam is spectacular - hot, fresh, crisp, and tasty.
I would describe this as down home food - a respectful environment, very good food, and affordable. Exactly what I look for in a dining experience!
I found myself thinking of friends and family whom I look forward to treating to a meal at Taste of Punjab.
