Japanese eatery located in a food court near the T&T in Guildford serving fresh and inexpensive homemade food including sushi.
Unfortunately I can't recommend this place anymore.
They used to have a good cute interesting bento box, that always had tempura.
Now they never have tempura it's usually agadashi tofu or 2 pieces of takoyaki. In the main entree area of the bento box they include 6 pieces of boring california roll, this used to contain terriyaki chicken. Now the terriyaki chicken portion is cut in half, and is mainly rice. Quite disappointing especially as it's small slivers of chicken. Very little protein and chicken skin.
They sometimes include sunomono but the portion size is so small it comes in the container that usually contains tempura sauce.
Their nigiri has meagre thinly sliced toppings. Avoid.
The rolls are decent, ask for them to freshly prepare them for you, don't just take the pre-made ones. The party trays aren't bad either here. I like the croquette.
Avoid the pork ramen.
I was excited to see that they offer takoyaki including pumpkin flavour, but the texture is too fluffy I don't think it's cooked like it is at the night market, I'm just going to stick to the takoyaki at the Richmond Night Market.
The main problem is that their prices have crept up and I would much rather just eat in a full service Japanese restaurant than at a food court kiosk where I have to pay for a cup of tea in styrofoam. I think that the owners have just gotten too greedy.
