Sushi Line is a Japanese restaurant on King George Highway.
This is a little hole in the wall restaurant with seating for 10-12 at most.
The people that run the place are awesome and very nice to deal with. This is in a small mini mall so their menu is limited by the amount of space they have. They do not have a grill on premise, so the most that is really cooked is a small bit of Chicken or Beef teriaki or Gyoza in their electric fry pan.
The food is great for the prices. Their sunomono salad is soooooo nice flavour wise. The do give you quite big portions for the prices they state. ie an order of Gyoza (5pcs) is $3.95. I believe a full california roll is about $5.95.
The decor and layout don't leave much to high restaurant fashion, but it is what it is a little hole in the wall with decent reasonably priced food.
You can go across the street and get tempura but that restaurant has left a foul taste in my mouth with constantly iced tamago, not cold but with unedible ice crystals in it, and uncleaned prawns for Ebi Nigiri. I would rather forgo Tempura and fancy rolls for this place. At least things are not unedible.
We did have the instance of once having our tamago nigiri taste a little fishy, but that was because they had just done a huge order for a party and there was a bit of a taste. I noticed it but my husband didn't.
The only thing I can really say about the place is it is decent cheap sushi if you like to fishy taste of cheap sushi. I don't think they use the freshest of product but its nothing that would get you sick. They have a sushi special that will definitely fill you up for under $10 (incl tax). They don't have any sort of interesting maki roll concoctions so it is just your run of the mill sushi that you would find anywhere.
Dispite sarahsparrow comments I would have to disagree with the mood of the place. Yes it is yellow, but the service is great. I have liked Sushi Line ever since it has opened. They serve decent sushi with good varity. Thier service is always with a smile. The price is good and I am never unhappy. I can understand the interior needs some help, but I will not complain.
Despite being bright yellow - this place is not a happy place to be. Three unhappy people working in a line, which is how I guess it got it's name. Nobody looks like they want to be there. The young man who worked there, I guess maybe the son, got yelled at a bunch while I was there. Depressing. The food is cheap, but it tastes it. Go across the street to Tokyo express, pay an extra fifty cents and get happy service with a nice atmosphere.
The place is more of a "to go" place because it is rather dingy and small...but the people who work there are nice and the food is pretty good for the price.
The ambiance is somewhat unappealing. The tables are small, the chairs are possibly from an old food court and the corners of the "seating area" is dirty. The plates and cups when eating there are dated. I insist taking the food to go.
The portions are relatively big as well. In a california roll there were about 8 pieces of decently proportioned pieces. For less than $6 you can get a pretty nice portion of Sashimi.
