This is a typical cafe style restaurant with several tables in both the front part and back part of the restaurant. The kitchen is in the middle and can be seen from anywhere in the restaurant.

Husband and wife proprietors and I've also met the son. Husband does the cooking and wife waits on tables. Everyone is very nice and friendly. Good service, but not that I'd call outstanding or incredible, the other choices on this rating which is why I rated it a solid 3. Good service. No complaints.

Decor is cute tacky with stuffed fishes and fish nets and other nautical themed items hanging on the painted blue walls.

Food is good. I wouldn't call it outstanding or incredible, the other choices available on the rating. I like the salmon burger. Prices are decent.

They have all you can eat fish and chips on Wednesday and Thursday nights (I think) - days could have changed! - for $9.99.

Now the bad stuff. Several times I have seen the male proprietor (husband and chief cook) standing outside the restaurant on the sidewalk on 176th Street smoking a cigarette. First off he is breaking the city bylaw of not smoking with 7.5 metres of the door. Almost every business in Cloverdale has that smoking bylaw sign stuck in their windows. He is always within 3 metres of his restaurant door. Now if he wants a smoke break he should try to be less visible to customers (both past and future ones) and go out the back door into the alley. And maybe he does that too. I'm saying I've seen him breaking the bylaw in front of his restaurant at least 5 times. Its bad enough he's doing that but it leads to questions is he going right back in to prepare food smelling of cigarette smoke. Yuck! Total turn off when it comes to food preparation and that is the only reason I haven't been back after having eaten here previously at least once a month.
