Pho, noodle soup, vermicelli and rice dishes
Went here with the family for a nice pho lunch. We both ordered the salad roll and I ordered the #2 pho with beef balls, tripe, tendons and all the other goodies while my better half ordered the I believe the #14 which is basically pho with rare beef flanks. The salad roll and the peanut sauce it came with tasted good, but the better half said that she tasted better. The pho came out hot and fresh with its sprouts, hot chilli peppers, lime and mint. We ordered the large which was only around $.50 more than the medium, There was ample amount of pho and ingredients. The broth tasted good and I was impressed with the overall experience that I had here. So when I am hungry for some good vietnamese food, I will certain venture to this restaurant again.
I have been here a few times for the Pho and Salad Rolls and I have yet to be disappointed. This place is quite small maybe 10 seats or so and the decor is nothing special. I do not come here for the atmosphere, I come here strictly for the good Pho. This is a small mom and pop shop that is locally owned and operated. I always order my Pho with spicy broth and the flavor keeps me coming back. The Salad Rolls are fresh with a good amount of pork and the peanut sauce on the side is quite good. The iced coffee is quite nice. brewed to your own strength and refreshing. The ceramic bowl and spoons are a nice touch it adds to the overall Pho experience. I do not recommend taking the Pho to go, the noodles get stuck together and the broth cools down, its never as good as eating it fresh form the kitchen.
We found this place on the way home one day. They are quick with greeting us and taking our order. When they serve our food, I noticed they use ceramic bowl and ceramic spoon; not those plastic one. Then we do our usual thing, adding bean sprouts, spicy sauce and the other sauce. As we are mixing things together, we noticed something else; noodle are not breaking apart. What that means is they did not over cook their noodle. Who likes to eat a bowl of noodle with noodle breaking into pieces. Soup base is good; it is not greasy and it is tasty. We will definitely go there again.
Been here numerous times (all take-out) as I really like the house special beef noodle soup. Throw in a couple of salad rolls and it's a very good deal - fast, relatively cheap and the pho is very tasty.
Worth a stop for lunch or for some take-out on the way home.
