Came here last Tuesday for a friends surprise birthday. I came here once with my family back in 1994, and have since wanted to come back, so was happy that my friends wife decided to throw the surprise party here.
Anyhow, portions were HUGE, and the price was really decent. I ordered a large ceasar salad for starters, and for dinner I had Fettucini Alfredo with chicken, and a Pepsi to drink. When my Ceasar salad came out, people thought that that was my meal....sure it costed almost $9, but it was MASSIVE, and good.
The Chicken Fettucini costed almost $16, but that was a very generous portion as well. Tasted very good. I have to admit, that I was not too impressed with the chicken though. Thought it would had been grilled like the souvlaki, but asides from that my pasta was really good, plus I couldn't finish it, which meant lunch for the next day. I also noticed that everyone who ordered pasta had good sizes and agreed that it tasted good.
This place is really good on food and portions. Not as big as Anton's I had to admit, but a super steal deal anyways.
Do yourselves a favour and try this place.
Went here for a friend's B-day and was pleasantly surprised with the up to date decor. They had some large flat screens and the bar was nicely finished. I ordered the Friday night special which was Prime rib, it was a 12oz rib that came with ceasar salad, steam vegies (ie. green bean, carrot etc) and a baked potatoe with the fixins (ie. green onions, bacon bits and sour cream). My better half ordered the seafood alfredo penne. First off the caesar salad was very good. Not too overwhelming with garlic, yet I would prefer a bit more myself. The portion size is quite large. The prime rib was very good for the most part. I enjoy my meat rare, at least half of the prime rib was rare and the over half was medium. The rare part was tender and juicy but the medium was a bit too tough for my taste. The steam vegies and baked potatoe was nothing special. The better half's seafood alfredo was ok. I found the sauce very bland. My problem is with the small print stipulations they have like if you are sharing a dish, there is a $2.00 additional charge. Originally there was suppose to be approximately 12 people but only 6 showed up, thus they automaticly imposed there 15% tip which should only be for 8 or more people. I guess that we reserved more than 8. Before we ordered our meals, we told the waitress that they can have those extra tables back. It was not like we were hoarding the tables and having people wait. The place was only 3/4 full and there was ample seatings left. We would have given a tip anyway, but I dislike it when the restaurant dictates the amount. (should there be a 15% tip even if the service is poor?)Also when the bill came, the 15% tip was disguise as a "service charge". So for unexpecting customers, they may think that they should also tip on top of the "service charge". Overall the experience was good, but I will be reading the fine print before I eat there again.
We keep coming back to this restaurant because of the friendly service and the good food and the relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant has a real family run atmosphere with everyone working hard to make the meal enjoyable . The Souvlaki is well prepared and the pasta dishes are huge . Good food at a good value with friendly service
I have eaten here with family on a two occasions and the food is good, although not outstanding. Some of the side dishes/accompaniments are obviously prepared well in advance and this shows. The menu is pricey for the location, service and food.
Some of the food like the rice, potatoes and tzatziki were quite bland, which I found disappointing. The waitress on both occasions was competent, but made it quite obvious she would rather be doing something else than serve us.
The decor and ambiance were quite nice, and I will return with my family because they like it, but I prefer something a little better, but for a pizza or nearby evening meal, it's never been bad.
I really love this restaurant and have been coming here for ages. They have good food, decent prices, Nice ambiance, friendly servers. And best of all it is not a chain! The variety on the menu is also really great, ranging from seafood dishes, steaks, and pizza. There really is something for everyone on the menu! And the $2 plate share... really not a big deal.
We have ate here quite a few times and have always enjoyed the food! The service has always been good, although it takes a bit to get your food! The waitresses have always been kind and done their job right! We have also ordered in their pizza and while it is quite expensive it is very good!! If the price of the pizza was 2 for one we'd order a lot from there!!
I seldom repeat my visits but when you find a place where you get a decent meal and good service...its a no brainer. I love the roast lamb...large portions and I have a tough time finishing my plate off. I never have room for desert...I hate that. I need more than 300 words so I will say this...again, good food , good service and a hot meal...outstanding...love the lamb
Food: Way below average. Tried the saganaki for the entree and could not eat more than a mouthful. Had the vegetarian greek platter for a main and it was really uneventful. The dolmades were bland; the salad was covered in way too much cheese; the spinach pie tasted like something you could buy in a supermarket freezer; the rice was good.
Service: It was decent service but not outstanding in any way.
Value: When you have to force yourself to eat the food, the value is obviously not there, regardless of the price.
Ambience: There's a bar area, tables and booths. It was ok but honestly, anything that may have been good about the atmosphere was completely overshadowed by the food.
Most terrible restaurant I ever visited!! Avoid at all cost! This was perhaps a fine place years ago when run by the original owners. Tonight we had what only could be called the most terrible food we ever had in any restaurant. Perhaps new owners or what have you. Bread was served after the meal was long finished - can you believe this? Portions very small - can food would have been better tasting. Save your $$ and go to McDonalds - a huge step up from here.....
My wife and I took our daughter here for a birthday dinner.
We each had different choices. Daughter had NY steak which they cooked exactly the way she ordered it!
Wife picked Chicken with a Greek salad. Just as perfect as our daughters choice.
Mine was the Veal Oscar, it was terrific and tasty.
Our server was upbeat and efficient. She made sure we had everything And that pleasant attitude of hers was infectious.
Certainly will return here again!
