I go to this sushi place often if my favourite place is closed. But I really do love Nordel Sushi. The ambiance is great, they serve beer, and they play sports on their TVs which is appreciated if the nucks' are playing and you don't want to go to a pub to watch it. I love their Vegetable Udon - it's always piping hot and delicious! I ordered take-out tonight and it was superb! I love the deep-fried-california rolls and the yam tempura rolls too. Definitely recommend!
I've never been to a sushi place with such poor tasting food. I've been there 5-6 times and the rolls usually taste off (bad tasting seaweed) and the rice is not very good. I decided to try some of the meals, they are not bad. Portions are small and over priced, especially for the quality of the sushi.
Never going back.
My husband and I have see this place all the time but never guessed they would have good sushi. Stopped in there one night and the rolled sushi was awesome! Amazingly good prices too, 3 rolls and 1 cone for just under $20. Will definitely go back again. They also have all you can eat sushi but we didn't check that out.
Really not a good sushi place...I have been to this restaurant on several occaisions and have always found their rolls to contain WAY too much mayo. The prawn that is used for ebi nigiri is always flat, lifeless, and brown around the edges. Agedashi tofu at this restuarant, while the same price, was about half the amount I have received at all other restaurants.
It's an ok restaurant if you need something quick, but I definitely will not be returning.
My family and I are repeat customers. We love the "all you can eat" because with a preteen boy, we get our money's worth. The food is consistent, never had any problems with the quality. Our favourites are gyoza, gomae, ebi sunumono , beef and chicken teriyaki, tempura, dynamite and BC rolls. I highly recommend Nordel Sushi as a really good place for sushi.
I gotta say I love sushi and this is my favorite sushi place so far in greater Vancouver. The Rainbow rolls are one of the most expensive ones, but they are worth it, SO delicious. Their restaurant is very clean and nice and the servers are very friendly. I also liked it that everytime we call and order for pickup they don't give you just styrofoam and stick everything there. They organize it so that it looks nice and clean and they have very nice plastic kind of boxes. The only thing I dont like is their chicken teriyaki rolls, the chicken seems very dry. I used to love them there, but now they are not as good as they used to be.
We are some of the regulars at Nordel Sushi; we come once a week. Their food is consistently good, although not gourmet quality. They have fairly good value for money with their "all you can eat" menu ($20 per adult, $1 per age of the child) which, although not extremely varied, does have all the perennial favourites, such as edamamme, gomae, gyoza, tempura, salmon, tuna, ebi, assorted rolls, teriyaki and wings. Service is excellent if you get their seasoned staff who've been there a while. Otherwise, it is hit and miss with the newer servers and that can be quite frustrating. It is a family-run business (she works the lunch shift out front, he prepares the sushi) and they run their restaurant with integrity and a desire to please their clientele. A good all-round place to enjoy a family sushi dinner.
