Ninja Sushi is located on Fraser Highway in Surrey. Takeout available.
B.C. Roll and Crab Cone - It was my first time there, and I got B.C. Roll takeout. There was one friendly waitress. I waited about 10 minutes, and when I walked out, all the workers were like, "Thank you!" "Bye!" "Have a nice day!" etc. As soon as I got in the car, I unpacked it and.... OHMYGOODNESS it looked sooooo gooooddd!!!! There were eight pieces of the BC roll, with the fish egg stuff on top, and it was really pretty! AND! They gave me an extra Crab Cone for free!! I just learned that you get that when you order takeout. The sushi was extremely yummy, so fresh, it was like the perfect sushi. The price just got lowered, and it's very good. The BC roll was $3.50. At other places, it's usually around $4, with only 6 pieces. I HIGHLY recommend this place to everyone! There are private booths too! :)
Stopped in at Ninja for lunch on a Friday. The place was busy, but we were seated promptly.
Ordered miso soup, gyoza, Dragon roll (unagi, avocado and tobiko over a chop scallop roll), a skinny Ninja roll (no rice, nori, smoked salmon and cream cheese, battered and deep-fried), and tempura prawns on shrimp chips with a spicy mayo sauce. All good. We ate every last bite!
Only quibble was that the tea was a little cool. I think they were pouring from a large steel machine into a pottery teapot and then letting the teapot sit and get cooler...
We've been here half a dozen times, at least, and are always pleased with the quality. Premises are minimally decorated, but clean.
I have tried a lot of various Sushi places and Ninja ranks high on my list in the way of food taste. I know there are fancier places with more abiance. I know there are cheaper places. I know there are places where the service is friendlier. In the end it is the food and how it tastes for me which brings me back here time and time again.
My wife orders the DynoCali combo which is a real savings.
My kids love the Agadashi Tofu and Edumume.
Me I love the taste of their California roles and their Agadashi is best I have had.
My partner and I are weekly customers at Ninja and have introduced most of our friends to this restaurant which we consider to have the best sushi in Langley. Most impressive is the wide variety of items on Ninja's menu including Ahi poke and "special rolls"; a welcome change from the usual California rolls and Teriyaki dinner boxes at most local sushi restaurants. The restaurant is Korean owned and operated so there are some unique twists like chojang sauce drizzled over rolls or stirred into Hwe Dup Bap (sashimi and seasonal greens rice bowl), one of my favourites.
The staff are always friendly and greet us with big smiles. If you pick-up an order they will give you a California cone to satiate your belly until you get home with your food. The ambiance is nice, the place is always clean and there are some private tables. The prices are a bit higher than average but I think it is worth it for the quality of food. Service is attentive. In all the times I have been to Ninja I only once had an issue, an order of gomae was partially frozen, but they quickly replaced it with a properly chilled order. The food is always delicious and it's easy to get carried away gorging. Once you try Ninja Sushi don't be surprised if you start craving it on a regular basis like we do.
The moment we walked in, we were greeted and given a menu. Maybe ebcause were the only ones in the restaurant at that time.
I like their menu. It's a little extensive compared to other Japanese restaurants. The review below is right, they make excellent deep fried stuff.
Since we werent really hungry and just wanted to try the place because of the reviews from this website, we just ordered appetizers to share. Me and the boyfriend shared spicy tuna roll, deep fried scallops with tonkatzu sauce, shrimp balls with sweet and spicy sauce, and the gyoza. Everything was excellent except the gyoza. It seemed like it was frozen. We also ordered the chicken teriyaki. It was better compared to the other sushi place 4 doors down.
The ambiance was good too. There are booths available too. And the place is tidy.
I'm definitely coming back.
Been to Ninja dozens of times and never walk away unimpressed. The quality and size of the sashimi is unbeatable. The Sunshine roll is amazing...truly to die for!! This place is the best kept secret when it comes to sushi places in the Surrey/Langley area. We have tried many and none come close to Ninja in terms of freshness and taste. Staff are very friendly too...can't say enough about how good this place is!
The location of this sushi place (Langley - burbs) does not match the crazy quality it has to offer. Toshi in Vancouver still reigns supreme as my #1 pick in the Lower Mainland, but Ninja is my new #2.
The quality was superb and that was only my first pleasant surprise. The service was the topping point for me - we were looked after just the right amount and all the food was delivered very timely. My friend and I split a large sashimi and since they knew we were sharing, added an extra piece free so the split was even. As well, they decided to bring us a free ice cream for dessert. Those are just a few of the 'little things' they did to make our experience so great.
Priced a bit above average for the Lower Mainland, the quality and service make it an easy decision to go and spend the $$$.
My husband and I have been to sushi restaurants all over the Lower Mainland. This is the finest! Food is tasty, authentic and fresh. Served hot! Servers are prompt, available and very helpful.
No chewy nori. No strong fish odour. Clean and enjoyable!
After reading such great reviews, I dragged hubby over here for lunch today. I was a bit hesitant when we walked in with only one waitress serving the entire restaurant and the service was a bit uncomfortable. Normally we would get served miso soup right after after ordering but the waitress was busy at other tables. We did get tea served pretty quick. We ordered the seaweed salad which was good although outrageous at $5 for such a small portion. We ordered several rolls and the only yummy roll was the dragon roll which was a scallop roll with generous amounts of unagi on top with fish eggs at $11.95. We mentioned to the waitress when she first took our order that we specifically did not want anything with california roll inside and she served us a rainbow roll which was exactly that with some sashimi and blackened avocado on top, very unappetizing and I couldn't eat any of it, mostly it was left over. We noted that it was listed on the bill even though it should have been removed. The chef did prepare us a small tuna/salmon tataki appetizer which was good and on the house but by that time we had made up our minds not to return.
I am from Vancouver so I can appreciate good Japanese food from Vancouver, Richmond, and Burnaby. My verdict is that this place is not worth your money.
I came here expecting average Japanese food (you can't expect much Asian quality from a white suburban neighbourhood. The ambiance was alright, typical with most other Japanese restaurants. I was greated promptly by a nice lady and the service was good, so thumbs up for that. But when I took a look at the menu, I couldn't believe my eyes, everything was outrageously expensive! I ended up choosing the $6.99 for an alaska roll. I knew right away the value was going to be poor as there can no way be food that matches those prices. And I was right, the alaska roll was neither huge nor exquistely made, just... regular. I couldn't believe it, the whole time I was thinking how $7 was justified. I can get bigger and better alaska rolls half the price elsewhere. I am really disappointed.
For those of you who said the food was great, I have to ask you, "How many other Japanese restaurants have you been to?" If not many, I highly suggest you to try elsewhere, especially the ones in Vancouver, Richmond, or Burnaby.
There is no way the food is justified for the outrageous price.
There is better food elsewhere.
While the sushi is top notch, the prices are just not worth it. I am not someone who looks for a bargain, regularly spending money on things without cost as an issue. However, $6.99 for a dynamite roll.. R U KIDDING? While the service matches most sushi bars, my advice is to go next door to Hiro, where price meets quality harmoniously.
Its a fun and diverse menu, but if you're looking for GREAT sushi, you've come to the wrong place. The only real sushi/maki offering that stands out for me is the spicy tuna roll. I can't think of a better spicy tuna roll.
Ninja does have the BEST deep fried Japanese dishes I've ever had though!
If you like tempura, agedashi tofu, chicken karaage or similar dishes, you won't be disappointed here!
The service staff is friendlyand competent, but you won't be wow'd by the service.
