Bought some halibut and chips for take out tonight. BAD MISTAKE!!! The absolute worst halibut I ever had. It was overcooked, the batter was hard as a rock and the fish was as flaky as dust. The fries were so-so. Will never habituate this restaurant ever again! I would not recommend this place to anyone. I was wondering why the prices were so good......should've known better.
We have been here a few times now, and are never dissapointed. We were there for a late lunch, had the lunch special, 2 pieces of cod with chips. The service is good, friendly and quick. They also have take-out, and had a few calls while we were there. The fish and chips are very tasty, not greasy. The tartar sauce is also very good. This place really knows how to make fish & chips, they also have other items on the menu, which is also very good, I had the fish & shrimp combo on a previous visit.
After coming back from a long trip in the UK, I was jonesing for some more decent fish & chips. I found this place and it reminded me of the small chippies they have across the pond. I was blown away by the quality of the food here, perfectly battered fish and the chips were fresh and just the right size. I've been to a few other places around Surrey sampling their fish & chips, but I always end up coming back here. It's run by a great and honest couple, the ambiance is alright, nothing special, but the food is what people come here for. Truest thing to an English fish & chip shop.
Who would have known that tucked away in the corner of Cedar Hills Plaza is a delicious place for fish & chips. There are also many other seafood items on the menu but the Fish & Chips is amazing. Definately the best in town. There are different specials everyday of the week. The place is run by a friendly couple who lived in England before, so they really know what good fish & chips is suppose to taste like. I am definately going back.
