We have dined at Ming Shing many times.
Unfortunately the owners seem to have lost their passion.
Wontons had a soury old taste and the soup was greasy tasting and without flavour.
Sweet and sour pork was full of fat and chewy. One of the pieces tasted old to say the least.
The other dishes where alright.
I really like it there and hope they will get a fresh grip on how to run a successful restaurant.
We used to get take-out from Ming Shing for the simple reason there was no other Chinese restaurant in the area.
We found that food quality varied. Many times, what we wanted to order was "sold out".... TOFU, in a Chinese restaurant, was "sold out"????? Save On is just across the street!! Chicken wings and gai lan (chinese broccoli) were other "sold out" itemx other times. This was not late at night, or the last day of the week, but peak times...
Since Yummy Wonton opened up further up Scott Road, we haven't bothered with Ming Shing. We'd rather drive further to get better food.
We were regular diners at Ming Shing. We usually ate in. We decided to order take out for a change and were sorely dissapointed. We ordered salted fish and chicken fried rice, spicy prawns, and bok choy with garlic. The prawns were $15.00. Upon unpacking our food at home we were shocked to see 4 small shrimp and the remainder of out dish filled with broccolli.. When we eat there we usually get 8-9 shrimp. But 4 is a ripoff. They lost my business for good, over a 15.00 dish.
Is kinda hidden in a mall, atmosphere makes you feel like home, nothing fancy at all. Food are great especially the S&S pork, on top of that the service is excellent. Ordered delivery a few times and they come QUICK. Good overall
