Great Chinese food!

Had take out here for lunch one day. I ordered combo #1 (sweet sour boneless pork, bbq pork fried rice and chicken chow mein) it was awesome. Perfectly portioned and not super greasy like most Chinese food places. I highly recommend this place for Chinese food in Newton as it's great value and tastes great!

ok, the won ton soup broth is like no other, very good, 8 of 10 times, and we hve ordered it 1 or 2 times a month for 3 years now. the other 2 times out of 10 it is average. jenny the owner/hostess is the best , really nice and funny always smiling. it makes ordering from lucky horse a no brainer once you get to know her. all the portions are big sized and taste good , price is very fair for what you get.

Best Chinese takeout in Surrey

Dine in or take out or deliver - all are excellent! I have been a patron for years and have never been disappointed! Generous helpings at great prices and the staff are awesome.

Would definitely return as well as recommend this restaurant to others and for many years even before they relocated.

I agree please have items on menu only if they are in the restaurant

My mother and I was just noticing the last review and I do have to agree with this person. I myself am not a big fan of Chinese food but my mother is so we agree to agree on the location. She gets her combo #1 all the time and I have to ask the lady what she does have available. She is very friendly and laughs as you speak to her but it is very unprofessional to tell your customers that you do not usually keep everything that is listed on your Canadian dishes at hand because they are not ordered that often. I know its probable cost that is of concern but if you are gonna list it make sure you do have it on hand for when the one person who does commonly order it can actually have what they wanted and not have to settle for what is available. Service is good I do also agree on slow days but I have been there for a year now as a customer due to my mother and when it is busy they could use a waitress that will help make sure service goes smooth.

Good Food But Dont Dine In On Busy Days
By jcrh02 of surrey british columbia (3 Reviews)

They do have great food but when it is very busy dont dine there. One person serving the entire restaurant is not enough when there are 4 or more tables of large families. Our order was mixed up with another family and when it was exchanged the food was good but not worth the frustration. The tea is $1 which is not like most restaurants. They say they have Canadian food too but my son ordered hamburger and she said sorry no burger then he ordered fish n chips and asked for gravy and she said sorry no gravy. Why have items on menu when you dont have the ingredients always on hand to make them. I understand its a family owned and operated restaurant but try getting a little help so when its busy the wait is not long.

Not just Lucky, it's Good.

We ate here during lunch, at that time there were some people but not very many. The interior was very casual, not the usual fancy Chinese decor but clean none the less. The store has many windows, but the view is only of the parking lot. The seats are very spacious and comfy, it even has arm-rests.

The menu here has a lot of variety, but very vague with descriptions. Lots to choose from either Chinese or Canadian food (burgers, sandwiches, etc). There were also a few hot pot selections. Prices vary from around $7-12 but the servings are very generous, you can order one dish to share between two people. The food itself is delicious, and prepared quickly. Some dishes will be served on a sizzling plate. The only thing is tea costs about $1 a pot, which is uncommon for Chinese restaurants.

Our server was very polite, checked in to see how we were doing every once in a while, and kind enough to pack our left-overs for us. The bill came with fortune cookies =)

If you're looking for a good Chinese restaurant in the area, this is it.
