Jade Valley is a Chinese restaurant that you can eat in or takeout.
I love Cantonese food and this place, although not being the best, offers Surrey people some choice at least.
Glad it is located where it is, convenient with easy parking. It has been renovated and is clean and cheery inside, so the ambience is positive. Service is courteous and fast, attentive but not intrusive.
Ordered vegetables, chicken corn soup, fried noodles and rice noodles. I'd say a 7 out of 10. The cooking is authentic and not westernized which is important. Quantity is a bit on the low side whilst the price although not unreasonable, is not a bargain either. Great if you are not very very hungry.
Recommendable and a much needed Chinese restaurant as Surrey has very few decent ones.
I have always heard of Jade Valley from my other friends and I finally decided to give it a try. I am glad I did.
The food is authentic and tastes great. Unlike other chinese restaurants, Jade Valley's ingredients are fresh and of high quality, beef was tender and the food isn't overly salted and oily. I loved the live spicy crab they had, I would highly recommend it. The hot and sour soup is one of the best.
I would highly recommend Jade Valley for anyone looking for quality chinese food
My first time back in several years. The interior has been newly renovated to reflect more stylish way to eat. We ordered 3 dishes. Chinese Gai Lan - not too bad. Sweet and Sour pork which was mediocre. Finally, lemon garlic Chicken but was served lemon garlic Pork. We had it exchanged of course. Portion was small compared to other Chinese restaurant in Surrey but the price is not any smaller. Service speed was normal - as expected.
The only part of this restaurant I like is the cleanliness and its newly renovated interior both in the restroom as well as the main eating area.
I had a wonton soup at this restaurant for lunch the other day. I also tried a sweet/sour soup also. My shared bill came out to be around $8 including tax and tip. The food was decent but nothing really exciting. I would recommend going into the Asian food court across the restaurant for some decent food instead of this restaurant. That way, you can save the tip!
I used to work in this strip mall and would go to this place on occasion. I haven't been there in two years. I was in the area one evening and decided to drop in for a quick bite. The recent renovations are very nice, it used to be very plain and old in there.
The food is always done right! By that I mean that some of the dishes are cooked the chinese way (not Westernized). Some other places "cheap out". Here they use good ingredients.
Very delious eveytime and now with the nice decor it is a good choice looking if you are looking for real chinese food.
If you are looking for abience, FORGET ABOUT IT.
If you are hoping for great service, you won't be impressed.
If you are looking for great chinese food, i can almost guarantee that you will not be disappointed. The veggies are so fresh and they are cooked to perfection. I've had prawns here a few different times but...... i was very impressed. Big fat juicey crispy prawns. The food here is done right!! The service is lame, almost non-existent and it's just a little hole in the wall of a restaurant but the food makes it so definitely worth it. The chef is just good at what he does. Reminds me of the Soup Natzi from Seinfeld. :)
We haven't been there for quite a while, and we were reminded why. We ordered take out fish dish and got peppers and onions with very few thin slices of fish (about 5% of the dish). We also ordered special foo yung and they should have called it bean sprouts foo yung instead. The containers are big, but when you open it, it's only half filled. Never again.
My family and i heard form some friends that this was a good place to get decent Chinese food.so tonight we went and had wanton soup, sweet and sour pork, steamed rice, chicken chop suey and deep fried wantons and egg rolls and almond chicken, from my point of view the best part of the meal was the soup. it was made from chicken not beef and the steamed rice was pretty good but very dry. everything els was full of oil, you could see through the egg rolls. the almond chicken had a good amount of chicken chunks but the coating around it was wet and there were no almonds on it. so if your looking for a good place for wanton soup its youer place.
