Firstly, being a large group you are moved from the ambiance of the dining room to the large banquet room in which the atmosphere is entirely different. Cold and certainly not as festive but.... doable once our group was moved to a larger table because I apparently made the reservation for the wrong amount of people.
The food select was very small in variety and was displayed as if it was the leftover part of the other side or maybe that was just because our reservation was at 11am and they opened at 10
Guess not enough staff to monitor the décor to ensure everything was filled.
One person to serve the egg station, waffle and carving table.....
Then there was the entrée(s) in which again the presentation was without labels so you had to open and close each one....which may or may not have contributed to the chicken being dried out and bland even though it was in a sauce.
Roast Beef tough and you were obligated to accept the slice offered even if you requested a different one.
Ham also dry and very disappointing .....all for the price of $30
Alternative choice was Newlands where everyone had been many times before and we thought for 3 generations gathering for the first time in years, let's go somewhere a little more elegant and maybe a different selection in food.....wrong!!! they have far more selection, presentation and atmosphere even in the banquet room...Sorry...should have gone with the gut!
Having Christmas brunch at Hazelmere has been a family tradition for years. They always have the same Santa and Mrs. Claus which is kind of cool because we get pictures with our kids every year. We just went last Sunday and once again they didn't disappoint. They offer pretty much everything type of breakfast and lunch item you can think of and the dessert selection is pretty good. The waitresses are nice and very attentive. I think our only complaint is that our kids always want to start with the chocolate fountain wich can be an all out battle. One thing to consider is their Christmas brunch is more expensive than their regular one but it seems worth it. We'll definitely be back
We have been going to Hazelmere Golf Club for years and had always enjoyed it until recently. My family took me there for my birthday recently - the service was very poor and my entree was so bad I couldn't eat it. The food is not fresh at all and I am sure some of it is pre-cooked, frozen and then microwaved. Also, we have noticed that the place has not been well maintained. The furniture and carpet in the lounge/pub is so filthy it is a real turn off. We will not be going back. Too bad because we used to go about once per week.
4 of us went there Sat afternoon at 3:00 pm for a sandwich and coffee. I had the chicken burger with fries. What a sorry excuse for a burger. The grilled breast of chicken barely covered half of the bun. Talk about dry some mayo or mustard would have been nice. Wait staff was terrific coffee was constantly topped off. Very nice dining room with a view of the putting green. Large TVs throughout. Hey chef start getting bigger chickens or smaller buns.
The family took dad out to this special fathers day buffet brunch. The food was spectacular with crab legs, clams, mussels, prime rib and ham carvery, made-to-order omelets, fantastic deserts, etc etc. Three teenaged boys were satisfied (and that's no small achievement!). The room was beautiful and the views were great. We look forward to returning to this restaurant again.
We celebrated my mom's birthday party at the Sunday Brunch Hazelemere offers, and had a lovely time. The food was plentiful, varied, delicious, and a very reasonable price ($20.95)! Matter of fact, my mom was so impressed that she asked the chef for the waffle recipe, and received it! The table was right by the window (as requested) and the view of the golf course was just lovely, plus the inside pond with the Koi Fish was very pretty to gaze upon. The staff were attentive and although our group stayed later, the staff were in no hurry to rush us out. We all had a wonderful time, and will definitley return. I highly recommend their Sunday Brunch, trust me, you won't be disappointed!
we've been to their weekend brunch several times, it is VERY GOOD, for ~19$ you get anything you can think of, great selection, & good quality....just a bit more greens could be there...otherwise 5 stars i give it anyway....phone for reservations, the room is soooo nice, even has gold fish in a brook like setting, & you get the view of the golf courses too, also you can have a round table, which is nice for get togethers with friends or family
I had heard a lot of good things about this place so I decided to reserve a table for Mother's Day brunch. We walked in and it really is a classy looking place. Beautiful with the gold fish swimming in the pond. Anyway, the service wasn't very good and the food was worse. My mom found green parts in her ham, they tested it and said there is nothing wrong with it. But wouldn't green meat just turn you off of the whole experience? There pasta salads were gross, there shrimp tasted fishy and there selection was lacking. If I'm going to pay $30 a person, then I want more selection and better quality food. I was so disappointed. I wont be going here again. In there defense they did knock a lot off the bill... But I wouldn't go back knowing how disappointing the food was.
