I am not a big eater when it comes to buffets. I mostly enjoy the freedom to walk around and sample a little bit of everything. Unfortunately the buffets here are terrible, so whenever I see a restaurant with a buffet that has reasonably good reviews, I try them.
Ah Gulberg, do you even know what 'Fine" means? Or "Cuisine" for that matter?
The naan was cold, not room temperature, cold, the puri (fried bread) was good, but very greasy and sticking to one another. The mixed vegetable was scary looking and tasted old and flavorless. The chicken biryani: the rice was tasty but the chicken was old and hard. The butter chicken: the sauce was pretty okay but the chicken, according to my wife, tasted like it was recycled from leftover tandoori chicken. I had to agree. The most disappointing thing for me was the tandoori chicken: old, lumpy and sticking to each other, yes, that's right, for some reason they were STICKING to each other. I don't know if they even use a real tandoor oven or just bake them in a regular over. The nihari was pretty decent, but it had a gamey smell, which you get from goat meat but it is supposed to be beef, so I don't know. Plus traditional nihari is slowly simmered with bones (the main flavoring agent), this was just cubes of beef in sauce. Perhaps the bones were removed afterwards to westernized the dish? Oh my wife liked the pakora, I did not.
The value? $12.95 per person, which would have been more than fine if the food was decent, but for what we ate it was a terrible value. The constant screams and cries of the little girl in the other booth, with an oblivious mother, was free. The service was pretty decent: polite but slow.
I am sad to say that the only two things I enjoyed were the radioactive-orange sooji (cream of wheat) and the tea made with evaporated milk. It's important to mention that the sooji was the only dessert on the buffet. Half way through the meal I was considering giving this place another chance with dishes off the menu instead of the buffet, but by the time I was done I just didn't want anything to do with this place.
A big thank you to my wife who did not want to go here but still did because she is a good sport. Sorry dear, you get to pick the next new restaurant, which goes without saying.

I visited this place a few weeks ago and can't stop going back since! My favourite is the weekend evening buffets, which have good variety and delicious food. My favourite dishes are the chicken biryani and beef nihari. Service is also very good and love the ambiance. No doubt the nicest Pakistani restaurant I have been to in the lower mainland! People that love authentic Pakistani food should definitely check it out!
Went here at 8pm with the better half and found this place from the entertainment book. The accepted the coupon for the buffet dinner. There is a fair amount of varieties of Indian dishes. They kept putting in new and fresh dishes for the ones that were less than half full. The taste of the food was very good for an AYCE restaurant. Service was very good as well. They kept the water topped up and asked us several times how the food was. Impressed with the service and dining experience. If I was ever craving for Indian food and wanted an AYCE place, this restaurant would be one to consider.
This place has a sister restaurant on 72nd near Kwantlen. The food tastes the same as the other place being Pakastani style. The veggie dishes are outstanding here, they have a hint of sour taste which I like. The buffet dishes change daily and they now only offer biryani on the weekends. They have dinner and lunch buffets. I wish that they changed the spoon on the yogurt mint raita dish as it's a tiny 1/4 tsp spoon and it takes forever getting enough sauce. They should put this one in a bigger dish with a tablespoon. Also the spoon is so small that it can easily slip into the chutney dishes and it's unhygenic so I avoid the chutneys. Using a longer spoon would easily solve this. The tandoori dries out on the buffet, they should really go around serving the tandoori freshly cooked to people at their tables. The day I went it was busy with mainly a Muslim crowd, but there were also a range of ethnicities enjoying the food. While this buffet is spicier and more flavourful than other ones it does offer the familiar dishes of butter chicken and naan. Try this place if you are tired of Indian food that isn't spicy enough. Also I wish that they let you pick what you want for their take-out container from the buffet. Clearly someone eating in would eat far more than the container can hold, they do let you pick what you want but they pack it for you. It's strange. I want to fill the container myself. I don't really know why they are so paranoid. In Toronto it's cheaper to take-out from buffets and they let you fill the container yourselves. It's easy revenue for them the food is already there, why not. The only buffet that is generous with their take-out container is Bombay Se, they also include secondary seperate containers for salad and dessert. Recommended as it's a newer buffet the food is quite good for now, usually when they attract a good clientele the food slips as they do cost-cutting to maximise profit. Note that the chai tea is overpriced at $2.50. Their regular menu items are priced higher here than at the Kwantlen and 72nd Ave. location as well so if you jsut want take-out head to the other place.
We were on Fraser Highway and thought of trying this restaurant during lunch hour. [ Their sister restaurant near Kwantlen College has received some reviews. ]
Decor is good and the server was good. We ordered seekh kababs..nan.... aloo nan...etc. Seekh kabab was hard....rubbery. Not edible at all. Compalined to the waiter and his response was he had only been there for two days. Seems like their CHEF was the boss and managing the restaurant. He was not availabe because he was outside smoking.
Sorry !!!! Same location had another east indian restaurant which was as bad if not worse than the present one.
Go to 72nd one. Much better food.
