Tasteless food. Lemon chicken, not even any lemon flavour. Garlic and black bean beef, extremely bland and rubbery. Dry garlic and spicy pork was dry and it was pork, but that was it. The wonton soup was okay. Truly a disappointing meal and total waste of money at over $40.
It took over 10 minutes to pay as the server became flustered when she couldn't get the machine to read the credit card, which was very new, and worked eventually.
Fongs used to be the only place for Chinese/Szechuan to order from in South Surrey/White Rock. Over the last 8-10 years I've probably ordered from here more than anywhere else in the lower mainland. Not anymore.The food is now inconsistent at best. The portions feel like they are half of what they used to be. You pay extra for no MSG and they charge for delivery but do not give you a discount for pick ups. When you pick up in the restaurant their kid will load the credit/debit machine anticipating a tip. Excuse me? Why should I tip for picking up? Dishes will average out over 12 dollars each and I think that's a bit much for 1/2 a portion of rice or chow mien. You'll be lucky to get any soy sauce and if you do it'll most likely be 2 packs. Forget about chopsticks or fortune cookies when you get delivery. Clean up your act FONG, you're losing alot of regulars.
