Dragon's is a well hidden gem, great local Chinese restaurant. It's located just off 160th A St and 85th Ave in Surrey.
Ordered takeout from here as the better half and friends were craving the westernized version of Chinese food. They ordered lemon chicken, sweet and sour pork, fried rice, vegetables dish chop suey (whatever the hell that is), and another dish which I do not know what it was, and boy was it disappointing. The price was not cheap either as it came around $20 per person. The lemon chicken was terrible and had a bland taste. The sweet and sour was good, but could not make up for the bland and greesy food that came delivered. Read so many positive reviews and thought I would be pleasantly surprised. I should have trusted my gut instinct and gone to a real chinese restaurant. Even on their worse days they will beat this place on their best day. I even looked them up on the net and ready their history, that they serve authentic chinese food and how great their history was...blah, blah blah. Or should I say bland, bland, bland. I should have known better when there was not any chinese characters on their menu and they have the "special combos"....
Like their fortune cookie should have said...."you live and learn from your mistakes"
A tiny hole in the wall in Surrey. You know the food is good just by the fact they're able to stay in business.
When I lived near here I would order at least once a month and the food was consistently good.
There is no ambience to speak of although it is sort of entertaining eating in there. It is sort of like packing a few dinner tables in your living room and calling it a restaurant.
I find chinese food to be hit or miss a lot of the time, and I always find this place to be consistant in their quality and service.
It's a hidden hole in the wall type of restaurant and I would love to give it more points in the service department, but as I always call for takeout - I can only give the star towards how they are when I come in for pick up :)
And you can't beat 10% off pick up orders :)
My sister and I got invited over to her ex boyfriend's house so he could treat us to dinner. He wanted Chinese from this place and he has done so many times and said it was good. I wanted pizza but we all just agreed to eat Chinese food.
Food: I ordered 3 different combos at about 9 bucks each and they both ordered 2 combos each at 9 bucks as well.
When the food arrived, I got 3 big take out containers and to my surprise there was tons of rice in each one and barely any sweet and sour pork. The same went for my sister's and her ex's food. Deep fried prawns and 3 egg rolls came with our food as well and it tasted boring and of grease. There was literally 3 lbs of rice in one of my containers. What was this? The Ultimate Rice Combo? Not impressed!
Value: 73 dollars for our rice filled feast. What the fudge is that all about? We got ripped off for sure.
Ambience: We got delivery so I don't know.
I aint ordering from this place no more and neither should you unless you want pounds of rice for an exorbitant amount of money. I suggest you go to Safeway for Chinese food. Not recommended.
This place is great for take-out. I don't mind eating in but it is a very small venue. I've recommended this restaurant to lots of people and I get mixed reviews. But what I can tell you is that I live very close to this place so I tried it out 3 years ago and I've been getting my Chinese food fix from there since.
