Great impersonation of Thai food

I went there for a 4 person meal with only 3 people. The food serving looks unappetizing for 3 people and totaled to 73$ (7 dishes in total), however the food is nothing authentic to real Thai food.

Here's my cons and why:
*pad-thai was like vietnamese pho noodles with spaghetti sauce (that's not what pad-Thai is supposed to look like).
*lacks a whole lot of staff to customer interaction.
*To be honest if you look at the menu most of the items are chinese food (for example Wonton) and not what you would expect out of a "Thai" Restaurant.

And the Pros:
-Great atmosphere
-Serving sizes were actually quite small with elegant appearance.

that is my take on Chinese imitated Thai food

Great Gem of a Thai Restaurant

Went here with the family for lunch. The specials were reasonably priced at $7.99/dish. Better half had the Pad Thai and I had the Spicy beef with vegetables on rice. Both dishes came with spring roles and tea. My spicy beef was very tasty and fresh. My better half's pad thai was ok. We had better. The service was second to none. The waitress was very attentive to our needs as the kids were restless. Overall the dining experience here was wonderful and would return whenever I am in the neighbourhood.

Chinese Food Conspiring to be Thai

A coworker and I have been working our way around the Surrey lunch scene (new to the area because of office relcation from downtown).

We've been searching on dinehere.ca for various restaurants with good ratings to try out for lunch and for catering for luncheon meetings. We've tried Sabhai Thai and Nahm Thai which we really enjoy.

Next on our list was Cravings Thai.

Upon arrival, the restaurant was clean, somewhat busy, and the service was friendly and efficient.

It was also clear to us upon arrival that perhaps this was a Chinese restaurant posing as a Thai food restaurant. After receiving our meals, we realized, we were correct.

We ordered cashew chicken and the yellow curry. First arrived the spring roll, with wong's plum sauce, just like the sauce in those little packets.

Second our meals arrived, I swore I had eaten this same cashew chicken at Hon's Restaurant before! The curry wasn't a typical thai curry, no sight of coconut milk, no basil, no kafir lime leaves, no hint of anything thai.

With two other yummy thai restaurants in the area, we probably won't be going back for thai food, but if we're feeling like chinese cashew chicken, we might.

I couldn't find a more suitable title that other people haven't used, so sorry about that.

When i arrived at the restaurant it was about 4:30. I was serviced promptly, even though they seem to have one waiter available. It's a clean little restaurant that used to sell Taiwanese food i believe. I never took a look at this place after the previous guys closed, until I saw the good reviews..

I went with the reviews and got the Craving Pad Thai and Tom Kah Soup ( w/ Chicken ). Was gonna go for the crispy beef since that's the first time i have ever heard of such thing. Instead he told me i'd be better off with a fried rice dish or a pad thai, since I came in alone.

The foods were in a generous portion and a great price, comparing to most of the Thai restaurant. ( by that I excluded stuff you find in Food Court ). Tom Kah soup is rich in taste, and you find quiet a bit of chicken in there, cooked just about right. The Craving Pad Thai doesn't have too heavy of a flavor, but enough that I liked it. The prawn is big and juicy too, seems like fresh stuff.

Overall it was a very satisfying experience, and I will definitely be back for more.

Wish I had found it sooner. New favorite spot

My husband and I are currently living in the Fraser Heights area. We were stumped for somewhere to eat close to home last night and with very limited options in that area we thought we would give this little diamond in the rough a try.
We were surely not disappointed. Firstly, we were extremely impressed with the service, you are truly treated like a member of the family within seconds of entering the restaurant.
We had the dinner for 2 because it had all of our favorite dishes in it. Fantastic value for only $33.00 you really cannot go wrong. The portion sizes are generous and you will leave stuffed and satisfied carrying a doggie bag.
Recommended dishes that were amazing:
Craving Pad Thai
Chicken Satay
Curry Chicken and
The fried banana with vanilla ice cream.

If you really want the best experience possible. Make sure you order "the royal' its a non-alcoholic bevie made with coconut, lychee and mango....OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!! it's like a tropical paradise in a glass, complete with an umbrella. The restaurant also impressed me, as it was constantly being cleaned throughout our dinner and the peaceful spa like music was the perfect end to a long work day.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We drove by and we noticed some huge window display for the lunch special for $7.99 which is such a great deal!

So we sat down to try the lunch specials. I had the Phat Thai which i remember from visiting other Thai Restaurant to be a popular dish. My friend ordered the Green Curry, which the menu specified to be 2x spicy. The friendly waitress assured us that all the items can be modified to our liking.

The lunch specials included one piece of spring roll, a bowl of rice and a bowl of sweet & sour soup; which was more than we usually expect from lunch specials.

All in all, good eats, decent price, friendly atmosphere.

Healthy tasty Asian food

I just went to try this new restaurant for lunch and the food was really really good. We had Tom kah soup with prawns, pad Thai, chili pepper fried rice and some veggie dish with(can't remember the name). I was going to order Tom yum soup but the waitress suggested Tom kah soup, And I'm glad I tried it, it was really good. The prawn was actual prawn not some little shrimp that some restaurant call prawn.:) And the padthai and fried rice was very tasty as well. I really like this restaurant since you can tell they are using fresh ingredients, no msg and it tastes great! And lunch specials are great value. Definitely going back!
