Cozy restaurant in Crescent Beach

This is a very appropriately named restaurant in Crescent Beach. The outside looks like an old cabin that you would find in the forest somewhere. The inside was nice and cozy and it felt like we were enjoying dinner at someone’s home. I heard someone at another table mention that it used to be the Beecher Street Café.
We had an entertainment coupon providing us with a 25% discount but even without the coupon we found the prices to be very reasonable for the quality of the food. The most expensive entrée was the special of the day – a Cajun halibut for $29.00. Desserts were $8.00. I forget the price of the appetizers but they were also very reasonably priced. The service provided by our waitress Courtney was very good. The restaurant was packed but she still topped up our wine once and checked to be sure everything was okay. For an appetizer we shared an order of calamari with tzatziki sauce. The serving was very generous and the calamari was tender and nicely seasoned. For entrees my husband had the pork tenderloin. It was moist and very flavourful. I had the beef short ribs. They were so tender and the sauce that accompanied it was terrific. Both entrees came with garlic mashed potatoes, zucchini and carrots. The vegetables were very well cooked and complimented the meat very well. We shared a chocolate peanut butter pie for dessert and it was delicious. My husband just loved it. With the entertainment coupon providing a 25% discount on food our dinner with shared appetizer and dessert, 2 entrees, a bottle of wine and tip was $96.00. Without the entertainment coupon our dinner would have cost us $96.00 + tip. It was good value for the money and we enjoyed the evening tremendously.
I highly recommend The Cabin for a nice casual meal in a cozy environment with good food and service.
