Employees different every week doesn't make a good impression on customers.

I decided to take some out of town guests last Saturday. Hard location to find, parking isn't great due to construction. Typical Cactus Club, Milestones vibe. Needs more lighting! Hostess was cordial enough. Waitress took her time acknowledging the 4 of us, but was 'somewhat' pleasant. After place our order twice for drinks, another waitress finally brough to our booth.

We ordered potato hallibut, pub burger, bbq pizza, and dragon bowl after sharing 2 orders of calamari. That came on top of tomatoe sauce, with a lime? Who does that?! Anyways, waited for closer to a half hour while some younger kids fooled around in the kitchen which everyone could see. NO apology from waitress aside from finally offereing another drink.

Food came out warm. Fish was good, salad on place was wilted and had just a plain scoop of rice. Pizza was thin, tiny, and barely had any topings. Burger had to be sent back as it was almost rare. Dragon bowl, was ok in idea, but way too many things going on. After expecting a warm bowl of rice, chicken and veggies, they top it off with COLD red cabbage.

Asked our server why food was gone downhill as I've been to 2 other locations. She queitly admitted they cannot keep employees longer than a week or two. I didn't want to embarass her why so asked politely to talk to manager. Manager said it was a natural progression, but offered no discount or apology and looked like he was waiting to leave our booth.

So when we get back to the hotel, my cousin who is a server looked on several Vancouver job posting websites, and noticed that Brown Panorma in fact has posted every day for the past 60 days. Perhaps pay more than minimum wage or treat employees better? Not my call, but perhaps you'de get repeat customers that are pleased!

Tasty food - rip off portions

This location recently opened up close to home and we haven't eaten there so my wife and I thought we would try it out. This was a Sunday night around 6pm, I thought I would pick up a couple pizzas to go as it was their daily special (a few bucks off). Since I haven't tried the pizzas before I was shocked when I got home and opened up the boxes. Each pizza's barely covered a quarter of the box. They were thin crust and a single pizza wasn't nearly enough for a single person, it was barely enough as an appetizer! Regular price is $13.45 but on Sundays it's $9 bucks. What a joke. I'm not a big eater but, the fact that I wasn't full after eating a "whole" pizza was truly disappointing. Having said that, the pizzas are tasty, however there is absolutely no value and I found it to be a rip-off. To be fair, the location does have a nice ambiance and the sights are not bad, so if you're into a nice ambiance with the regular corporate chain waitresses (think Earls and Cactus Club) this is the place for you, just don't expect to get full off their food!

Bad, Bad Service

Waited more than 10 min. to be approached by server (restaurant not busy!!!). Hubby ordered cup of soup and fish and chips. Entrée came but no soup; .bowl of soup arrived after meal (but was comped). Drinks were not refilled, we were not asked if we wanted dessert (would have) but just presented with bill while I was still eating. This was at 5 pm on a Sunday. To add to the insulting service, although we told hostess we had a reservation they put us down as a no show. Open table honored our reservation but had to contact them and waste my time with it. This is the 2nd time we ate at this location, first time was not much better. My review was sent to Brown's but no response received. Food very good both times...we will most likely eat at Brown's again but not at this location. Beware!!

Won't last the year in this location

For anyone unsure, this place is a lounge plain and simple. It's decor is nice. Clean, warm, friendly and inviting. Given that they were promoting their Sunday brunch menu we decided to stop by and give it a try. Selection was not very good unless you're a big eggs benedict fan in which case you have a choice of 4 meals. I had their corned beef hash while my wife tried their breakfast sandwich. Her's came on a ridiculously hot plate with a very unappetizing frozen strawberry. My looked quite nice and glancing around at the other tables presentation seemed pretty good. Taste, however, was another matter. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't very good either. Mediocre at best. Given the poor location, this place cannot survive as merely a nice looking lounge. It simply has too much competition from places with better food and is too far out of the way to be convenient enough to stop in for a drink or to act as a meeting place. In my opinion this place won't last the year.

Good restaurant for Surrey

Browns is a good restaurant for Surrey where I make a point of not dining too often. The place has some of the best service and quality food that you can get in town. Socialhouse has the feel of being a more high end/fine dining experience without having similar prices.
My waitress was extremely attentive and attractive in a very classy manner, checking to see if we needed more drinks and if the food was to our liking without becoming a feature of the meal yet making us feel like we were a priority. I love these girls which knowing Surrey they must bus in from across the river.
We couldn't resist a steak and were so glad that we ordered them as they were cooked to perfection - rare and medium both could have melted!

Not Their Best But Still Great

If you are not familiar with their menu and are nervous about going to this restaurant don't be this is the place for you if you like good food, warm service and pretty women. There are no women with ugly pants running around pretending to provide service, which can be disappointing. On the menu end, the food was absolutely delicious. The service was great and the menu was easy to read and very descriptive. The only thing I would have changed was that one of the dishes came out a lot later then the others. On the service end, the waitress who served us was super cute, dressed very classy in a skirt and made time to chat with us. Frankly when we go out we don't just want food. We want food, service and enjoyment.
Overall our visit was amazing, but I know that in Vancouver they have hotter girls. I would go back for sure, but this time I will finish the meal no matter how full I am (inside joke)! Four thumbs up!

Great ambiance, service, and drinks!

I don't visit restaurants like Cactus, Joeys, and Earls very often because I can't justify spending over $50 on a glass of wine and dinner with my wife....Browns, however, I can justify. It's the only nice place I can go without having to pay an arm and a leg. I usually go to the Panorama location in Surrey. Friendly service, great food, and fantastic drink prices. DON'T RELY ON GOOGLE MAPS TO FIND THIS PLACE! It made me miss my turn!
