As an avid Pho-goer, I'm glad there's another pho joint in Surrey. I've visited All About Pho several times and have also ordered food to go a couple of times. The food is good, with the vermicelli and rice dishes being better than the pho or bahn mi dishes in terms of flavor. Maybe I've been going to my other Pho staples for too long and am used to their style of pho, but I just found the pho here to be a bit more bland (and with little meat) vs. some other restaurants in Surrey.
The ambiance is a bit roomier and a lot nicer than most of the older pho places in Surrey. The heart warming welcome message on the walls and ample parking are wins in my book. However, service isn't great - they seem disorganized and often, I had to wait to be seated, wait to order, wait to get the bill, wait for change... I was waiting a lot!
Will likely be back if I were out with friends that cared about ambiance more than food quality.
Went here with the family the other weekend. Sat in the booth at first, but soon realized that the little ones are better off in a high chair as one of them fell off the booth seat. Mentioned this to the young asian waitress and I could see she did not care and just rolled her eyes. So I went to a more competent waitress and she seated us at a table and provided us with some highchairs. We then ordered salad rolls, 2 noodles with soup and one fried noodles dishes. The salad roll , the 2 noodle dishes and the fried noodles came out promptly. Actually a little too fast as it seem they had it already for the lunch crowd. The soup broth was ok. Had much better elsewhere. The meal was just satisfactory. There was something about the meal that made me feel the food was very process/not home made. The ambiance was nice compare to what it was before (7-11). The parking can be crowded. But overall I would venture elsewhere as there are so many better vietnamese restaurant within the area than this one.
All About Pho opened early September new my office, and a few office folks decided to give it a try.
We walked in and were greeted promptly and given a booth. The restaurant is newly renovated. It's small, but cozy (used to be a 7-11).
3 of us ordered a few vermicelli beef soup bowls, and my wife ordered a dry vermicelli bowl with lemon grass pork.
The medium size soup bowl was standard size, but I found our usual Pho place nearby has more meat in it. The large size looked a bit better. Overall I found the soup base not up to the quality of other Pho places. It was a bit bland, and didn't taste like it was made from scratch.
My wife really liked her dry vermicelli bowl though, and said it was just as good as other Pho places.
Unlike some reviews on Urban Spoon, we were served in the usual fashion with glass tea cups and a glass tea pot.
Service wise, everyone was friendly and helpful, but it was a bit slower than other places nearby.
Price wise, it was pretty standard for the area.
Overall, we thought it was just OK, but nothing special. We'll likely be going back to our old Pho place in the future. I'm actually surprised they would open a Pho place in that location, given there's 2 others within walking distance.
After reading some bad reviews which blew my mind, I felt the need to let everyone know how good this place is. I can ONLY imagine that these bad reviews were written by rival pho joints, or by the first two customers to eat there, before they got everything ironed out as a business.
The broth here is amazing, the noodles are perfect, the salad rolls and peanut sauce are the best I have had at 2/3rds the price of most places, and the service isn't bad considering how busy it can get.
As far as my girfriend and I are concerned, it blows every other place in Surrey and Langley out of the water.
