The Golden Sun has the warmth, friendliness and family feeling of an old greasy spoon without the grease. Even on your first visit the servers make you feel like you're one of the family. From breakfast to full entrees, the portions are huge and the food is delicious. Even the guys could barely clean their plate there was so much food. Incredible home-style variety from Bacon and Eggs to old fashioned favourite sammys and an out of the park club made with real turkey, to full entrees. On one of our visits we ordered a side of poutine, and it came on a platter that would have fed a family of six! On my last visit I had a greek salad as a side, that was big enough for two, and had to be the best greek salad I have ever had. Loaded with feta and kalmata olives and a dressing to die for. On nights when my girlfriend and I go out, we have our dinner and order take-out to bring back home for the guys....We have been for family breakfasts as well as dinner and have never been disappointed. Looking for good food and bang for your buck? You can't beat the Golden Sun for it's incredible value.
I am a regular customer at Charley's Exotic Cuisine. I always enjoy their delicious Caribbean Dishes and they also provide fast and friendly service. Their prices are very affordable and are always expanding their menu to give their clients more great options to choose from. The location is in the same plaza as their grocery store so it makes it easy for me to buy what i need and at the same time enjoy a great meal. I highly recommend this restaurant to those who are looking to try something new in Scarborough East end and have the taste for Caribbean food. Their restaurant also accommodates both dine in and takeout conveniences so you can either have your food to go or bring your family to sit down and enjoy.
I strongly recommend you try their food. It's not greasy, its tasty, and you'll also get a good bang for your buck. They also make very good doubles and pastries in house so you can enjoy that too!
Thanks Everyone!
Recently ,we had a chance to have lunch at this Anjjappar and we have ordered different varieties,Veg and Non Veg, items like Chettinad Chicken Roast, Nattu Kozhi Roast, Katharikkai Kozhambu, Karahi Vegetable are so good. Authentic south Indian food, the quality and service are good. Reasonably priced. We strongly recommend the Non Vegetarians to visit this place
In anjappar chettinad Pepper Chicken Dry I had ever had in life. It was so hot and so good to have more and more. Instead of my lunch(meals) I had full of chicken. This experience makes to visit again and i wish to go there for my favorite pepper chicken.
Anjappar is always my favorite place for having some awesome Chettinad food and this restaurant serves the food from the taste of real chettinad. Anjappar Chettinad has unique valuable and taste from one another. The atmosphere of the restaurant is pleasant good to hang out with family and friends. If you are looking for good Chettinad food in Toronto for the items like Chettinad chicken, Kadai Chicken, Kothu parotta, Mutton special, Biryani variety, Rice and Noodles etc, then Anjappar Chettinad is the one of the best chettinad restaurant in Toronto which offer with variety taste
Have been to this restaurant many times and always enjoyed every minute and the food. The place is very friendly and pleasant. The dinner buffet which we went had variety of dishes and as always it taste good too.
Dosa, Taali and curries are what we had a lot. As per the regular menu, the varieties are so many that you may have to visit more number of times to try them all atleast once. The appetizers are the best in anjappar, as it makes you mouth watering and the for main, you shouldn't miss dosa items as it is traditional food and it is in the best form @ anjappar. And for prices, they are pretty good and the quantity is a fair deal. Anyone interested in Indian/ South Indian foods, you should definitely visit this restaurant, although I should warn those who aren't used to spices, you should be careful :)
Stay away from this place! Especially if you have little ones! I have gone for breakfast and the service was pretty good and the food not terrible, its pretty hard to mess up breakfast! I decided to go for dinner and the service was horrible, as well as the food. Not to mention they complained that my 15month old through a bit of food on the floor and the owner, also the cook came out and told me that I need to start teaching my child how to behave now! And then he started to lecture my baby! I understand the little guy through food on the floor, he does it all day long at home and we clean it up and tell him its wrong! Of course he laughs since he really doesnt get it yet!!! However this is suppose to be a family place! Where families can feel comfortable! I was so upset I said forget the pumpkin pie and paid and was about to leave! I didnt tip because it was so horrible, then the waitress called me on it and said so what! Because he said that you, you dont tip me! I was crying now! and actually gave her 10 bucks because I was shaking and couldnt do the math!! It was horrible! They should be shut down! Please support other places that love and understand families!
This joint is not a restaurant in any recognized sense of the word unless you like peanuts, a bowl of which may be available on some days. Has 2 pool tables, mediocre beer (regular Canadian , Bud lite, Blue; premium Heineken and cans of Guiness.) Ashphault patio at back would be a great spot for a hot tub.
Went to dine this evening at this newly opened great Indian restaurant and experienced one of the best dining experience in an Indian restaurant I ever had. Very spacious and well decorated interior dining area. Ordered 2 starter (Sheek kobab & Onion bhajhi) and main courses (lamb curry, butter chicken & chicken biryani). The food was fabulous, freshly made and so tasty. I have never tasted a better butter chicken before. The price of everything was not much and we did not expect the great food at such reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
The place is popular among Asians in the area. A large number of Chinese like the place and it focuses on Vietnamese, as well as Korean delights. We plan to stop in once a week. Great food and great service, at an es especially great price. To my knowledge, there is no better Korean in the city. My Asian spouse and Caucasian self both give it 2 thumbs up!
Anjappar Chettinad Restaurant is Best Indian Restaurant In Canada. Dishes Tastes as it is prepared in the kitchens of South India. Anjappar Chicken Rasam was extra ordinary...Guys Try this for sure .... The best of Anjappar is Biriyani Just @ $4.99.
Happy to Taste South Indian Best dish in Scarborough... Happy Dining
We have been going to Govardhan Thal for last three years. Very good food for the price you pay. For less than $10 per person (including taxes), you get all you can eat THALI all day. Their menu usually includes more than one sweet, two to three farsans, four to five veggies, kadhi, dal, rice, pickles, papads, rotali, puri and a couple of different varities. Sitting is bit tight and very little room to move around but why complain when the price is right. Rotali is made in front of you- just ask for hot rotali and enjoy. They have been selling FAFDA (Ganthia) and they are the best to take home. We have tried FAFDA from a couple of other locations but theirs are handmade and thin (as opposed to machine made and thick). Their KHAMANS are also the best in town. Hands up for the lovely couple who run this restaurant.
Excellent location... Up and Coming area... Lovely little spot for a couple to sit and relax with coffee. Read the newspaper or brows a book. The cafe is very nicely laid out and has a lot to offer. However, my first visit was with my whole family which is 9 of us (4 adults and 5 teenagers) The restaurant had a hard time accomodating us in an area. Service took a while and the food was cold. Next time, just myself and a friend will revisit to see if same situation.
Ordered two meals from the combo menu.
Both meals were poorly made with old ingredients!
- Meats tasted like they were microwaved and reheated - dry to the bone
- Rice tasted funny, like it was made last week
FOUND A LONG HAIR in one the meals!!!!!
Spoke to the server, she was reluctant to do something about it. All she said was sorry and left.
Had to make a big deal about the meal to get it removed from the bill. Lost our appetite so we asked for the bill right way and paid for it.
We were about the leave when the Manager came out and started yelling at us in front of other customers in the restaurant, calling us cheap, and told us to never come back!
[sarcasm] A little unprofessional don't you think?
I have never dealt with such a rude restaurant before. I have been to other Pho 88s without any issues. I suggest you avoid this one at all costs!

I've been to other Wild Wing locations, and absolutely love their variety and selection of flavors when it comes to their wings, but this location has to have the absolute worse of everything.
FOOD: The food was mediocre at it's best. I ordered my favorite flavor of wings (Dill-licious Honey - honey garlic with dill) and was disappointed when the server came and gave me 'Honey BBQ' (honey garlic with bbq sauce) instead. So I informed them of the error that they made, which the server immediately took the order back and apologized. No harm done right? Wrong! She came back to apologize and informed me that the chef was fixing my order, and I should have it back shortly. She brought my 'new' order back within minutes, covered with dill sauce. It looked suspicious to me, as I had been to other locations before and I don't recall them using so much dill. Much to my surprise as I bit into one of the wings, I realized that they gave me back the same order, covered with dill sauce, hoping that I wouldn't taste the BBQ sauce that was already on there. I was so disappointed that I just ate most of the order and vowed never to step foot in there again.
SERVICE: Mediocre at it's best. Stood at the front counter for at least 3 minutes before anyone even acknowledged that I was there. When the server came to greet me from the BACK of the restaurant, she asked me how many (we were two) and told us we could sit anywhere. If that was the point in case, why not just have a sign up?
VALUE: Not bad for your money. The bill came up to $35 for an appetizer and two pounds of wings plus non-alcoholic drinks. That's obviously without a tip.
AMBIANCE: Not impressed. Since it is a chain of restaurants, they all look the same. This location was smaller than the other ones I had been to, the bar takes up most of the restaurant. Felt ignored for most of the meal until it was time to pay.
