I am big fan of pizza hut, from China to Philippines to US, I always ate at Pizza Hut. On May 19, 2013 at 7pm, the Pizza Hut at 592 Ellesmere Rd, Scarborough, it's General Manager was rude to his customers. We came with my family of 2 kids, there was no attendant at the front desk so my kids who were hungry & first time to eat at pizza hut ran inside the restaurant because there were lot's of empty tables. When, we seated, the general manager approached us. At first, we thought he will give us a courtesy greetings, so I smilingly said "Hi!". In my surprise he bluntly told us in front of my family, "Do not just come in and seat. You needed to wait outside to be seated". I was stunned of how inapproriate the behaviour was without any pleasant or at least tell it in a polite manner or with concerned or smiling face. He did not even brought us the menu. He told those words and left. In front of my family, it was rude. My kids were asking why he was so rude. I will still eat at pizza hut but will never come back from this Pizza Hut at 592 Ellesmere Rd, Scarborough.

This review/complaint is an in-depth summary regarding the service I experienced at the Pizza Hut Canada location at 592 Ellesmere Road, April 27 between the approximate hours of about 6pm and 8pm. I ate in with three others.
Between the four people at our table, two order breadsticks and a medium pizza to share, and the other two ordered a pizza each, and one salad. The restaurant was very empty, with perhaps about 5 tables filled during out meal. After ordering we waited for quite some time to receive the breadsticks and salad which were the appetizers, then one of the three pizzas was served only moments after the appetizers were served, and there was barely any room on the table. A few minutes later the second pizza was served (still before we had the chance to eat our appetizers). When the second pizza occurred the waitress said, “Here is your other pizza” to which one of us replied, “You mean the second, we ordered three”… The waitress was clearly confused and left, she was not the same waitress who seated us and took our orders. Upon return about 10 minutes later she explained that the pizza had been given to the wrong table and that the kitchen was making a new one for my friend. Finally about 30 minutes after the other pizzas had been served, my friend got his pizza. The service was lacking in other areas, such as the water not being re-filled, we were not asked if we wanted drinks after originally having asked for water to start, etc.
After all four of us had finished our meals we were handed a joint bill, having never been asked how we would like to divide the bill. Myself and my boyfriend who was the victim of the late pizza were going to pay together, while the other two were together. We explained this to the waitress and she responded with an un-promising suggestion that we divide the money between ourselves. At this point my boyfriend asked if he was being charged for his pizza due to the delay, and the waitress told us that the bill didn’t have any accommodations but that she could ask about taking 10% off of the whole bill, but couldn’t do that if we split the bills. After trying to discuss with our waitress she finally told us to go to the cash where we could talk to the manager. At the cash we were not served by the manager, and poor guy who caught got in the middle of this mess who was serving us told us that the best he could do was remove $5 from the price of my boyfriend’s bill. After a long ordeal (about a half hour or more) of speaking with this employee and with the manager, and waiting for the bill to be split, etc. this minimal $5 accommodation was the only one we received. I will add that apologies were few and far between (apart from the man at the cash who seemed to want to help but was perhaps limited by his position). When the bills were finally split they were split in three as the system would apparently not allow for my pizza and salad to be on my boyfriend’s bill..
This entire experience was infuriating. We were made to feel as though WE were the inconvenience despite the utter lack of service from almost every member of the team that we dealt with. I will never return to this location of pizza hut again, and my stance as a loyal customer of Pizza Hut Canada is in jeopardy. I also plan on warning as many people as I can of the misfortune that may very well occur if they chose to eat at this Pizza Hut.
It seems rather wrong to be nearly punished for the mistakes of this establishment. If dividing the bill was such an inconvenience we would gladly have left without paying. There are many accommodations a restaurant can make in order to apologize to their customer for horrible service, if this restaurant needs examples I have a few: provide a free dessert, remove the item from the bill, offer a gift certificate for the next visit, give another pizza on the house, deduct 50% from the item, etc.
To finish off: the food was mediocre at best, the service was horrible, the management was despicable, the computer system is apparently archaic, and when the four of us left the restaurant we were not in the high celebratory spirits that we had when we entered. This Pizza Hut is doomed to fail if it does not make some immediate changes and if it does not value its customers. As a woman who has worked in customer service settings, these employees need to be retrained in rule #1 “The customer comes first”.
I visited Montana’s in Scarborough for the first time on a Friday, on March 8. I liked the décor; the place had a rustic feeling, like a chalet/cabin in the mountains. My group and me were greeted by the Restaurant Manager, who was welcoming and seated us to our table. The restaurant was not busy at all because it was around 5 PM, between lunch and dinner.
The first server did not seem very energetic, but at least he was polite and he wrote his name on the table. We ordered a few drinks and kept drawing on the paper that was on the table. Afterwards, our server changed and we ordered appetizers (chicken wings, pita with dip and sweet potato fries). Wait time for the appetizers was around 20 minutes, which is more than the standard.
Food was good, but nobody came to check up on us, to see if we need our water refilled, another drink or maybe we’d like to order a main course/desert. Service was NON-EXISTENT! I felt ignored, even though I chose to spend my money there. Even though the restaurant was almost empty, servers were cleaning other tables at which the guests already left. At the end, when we asked for the bill, I asked Tamar, our server: “How come nobody clears out the plates?” I told her that stacked empty, dirty dishes is not a nice view to have in front of your eyes long after you finished eating. Instead of apologizing, she asked me ironically: “Yeah, you like that in a restaurant, don’t you? You like clean plates?”. I was appalled. Nowhere have I been talked to so rudely. She asked me if I wanted the receipt and initially I said no. I changed my mind because I wanted to fill out the customer service survey. Tamar kept ironically repeating “Beautiful” and remained obnoxious until the end.
I have NEVER complained to a manager in a restaurant, but I did this time. We did not receive any service recovery at all, nothing except an apology. I would never go back again to Montana’s in Scarborough.
I went to this place January 11, 2013 around 8:00 pm. I was a paying customer and had used the PUBLIC washroom while I was there. As I was leaving the guy behind the counter who cuts the meat yelled at me for using the public washroom without asking him first. I don't think that as a paying customer I should have to ask to use it first. It was unlocked and every one else in there used it without asking and he said nothing to them. This had made my experience there unsettling. I would not be returning to this place and I would not recommend it to any one!
Amma, which is at the end of my street, has changed hands several times in the 10 years I've lived here. It's now back under one of the first managers, and the food quality is back up to where it should be.
First off, a warning: you have to like aggressively spicy Sri Lankan flavours to eat here. While there are a few more delicately flavoured dishes, pretty much all of the curries are laden with green chili. The standby is kothu roti, a filling dish of fried egg, onions, chili and curry, all mixed in with chopped flatbread (roti). A giant container of this is only $6, and feeds more than two people.
The biryanis are great and fresh, and the plain roti are exquisite. The place is busy every evening. While the decor is a little rough, and there's nowhere to sit, the food is amazing, and the owner very friendly. I'm so glad that this place is only three minutes' walk from my house.
The food is okay, but the service is absolutely terrible. He forgets parts of orders constantly, Portion sizes are never correct, I ordered 2 of the same noodle dishes once, and one was half the size of the other. On top of that everything is very expensive, the price of what you would pay for takeout at a nice restaurant. There are plenty of better, cheaper thai options in the area. STAY AWAY FROM HERE!
I have travelled to various parts of Thailand and I can verify this is authentic Thai food.
I have eaten at various "Thai" restaurants in the GTA, and I can say that this menu is 100% authentic. Not only that, but the chefs are Thai too.
I have been to many Thai restaurants, and the workers are Chinese. Other restaurants invent dishes that are a mix of Chinese, American and Thai and claim to be a "Thai" restaurant.
This place is not like that at all. From my travels, I can see just in the environment alone there are various elements of the Thai culture that only a Thai person would be familiar with, so they're not fakers like the others.
The menu is completely Thai from the appetizers, to the mains to the dessert. I ordered 6 different dishes and they were all great and included all the trademark Thai ingredients.
Kinnaree has a very large variety of dishes in noodles, rice, chicken, beef, seafood, tofu and veg.
I have never seen a Thai restaurant so authentic and with such a vast array of choices.
The service is great. The host is very warm and kind, and the restaurant is big, neat, clean and nicely decorated.
The restaurant is also 'halaal', so the meat is clean and slaughtered in a very humane way.
Go for it!
Always stop at the Shamrock in Brooklin on our way from Hamilton to Ottawa where our son goes to university. Suits everyone -- the family deal makes it easier to feed 3 hungry teenage boys a full meal without breaking the bank and the burgers and rings are amazing. I wish there was one closer to home! Love it!
They opened a new location at Albion mall. Food was not that bad. Not that good either. Not warm enough..vada & idli were so cold and not soft at all. Khichdi a bit dried out. and so on....
We been there at about 7:45 PM and almost done within one hour or so. In the mean time many other diners were waiting outside for their turn. Surprisingly, the owner himself comes to us and informed us in a rude way that if we are done we have to leave as others are waiting. Isnt it rude and shameful for this business ?
I would not go there again neither I recommend my Gujarati friends...
I decided to take my relatives out to eat dinner at this restaurant and it was horrible. The service was terrible. We had 20 people and we asked a staff to move our tables together and she said no and left. It was very very rude. Besides this, when we were done, they told us to PAY CASH or DEBT CARD!!!
This means that they want to cheat the government (no need to pay tax)!! We asked for Visa. They said they don't take Visa (CLEARLY LYING). They asked for american express, thinking that I don't have american express but I did. Any ways, I eventually paid VISA!!
I will never go to this restaurant EVER AGAIN. If you ever go, check your receipt and MAKE SURE IT IS CORRECT! !! They will try to rip you off and make you pay CASH ONLY in order for them to avoid paying taxes to the government.

Fine, clean, honest, quaint (actually quite large) restaurant/bar leaning more towards "bar" most of the time because kitchen isn't always open. PERFECT hamburgers when it is. Reminds me of a real older bar like they used to be. This bar has had live music in the past and room for the dancing believe it or not. I like it. GOOD pool tables and fresh cold beer - bottle, can or on tap and full bar for mixed drinks. Patrons are of all ages. Large screen TV's and a good JBL sound system usually playing BLUES and not too loud. Would be a great place for small celebration parties or just a comfortable get together. Has a pool player club.
I recommend this restaurant to those who are looking for some Chinese food to eat for a low price. They serve the food pretty quick and it is always more than enough to fill you up. The decor in the restaurant is pretty mediocre, but it is good enough for the customers to enjoy eating indoors.
The pizza here is quite good and if you have a SPC card, they would give you a pretty good deal. Additionally, the store is well-maintained, and the service is good as well and I got my food pretty quick that day. It is a good thing the service was quick because I was really hungry that day. Overall, this store deserves solid ratings.
The Golden Sun has the warmth, friendliness and family feeling of an old greasy spoon without the grease. Even on your first visit the servers make you feel like you're one of the family. From breakfast to full entrees, the portions are huge and the food is delicious. Even the guys could barely clean their plate there was so much food. Incredible home-style variety from Bacon and Eggs to old fashioned favourite sammys and an out of the park club made with real turkey, to full entrees. On one of our visits we ordered a side of poutine, and it came on a platter that would have fed a family of six! On my last visit I had a greek salad as a side, that was big enough for two, and had to be the best greek salad I have ever had. Loaded with feta and kalmata olives and a dressing to die for. On nights when my girlfriend and I go out, we have our dinner and order take-out to bring back home for the guys....We have been for family breakfasts as well as dinner and have never been disappointed. Looking for good food and bang for your buck? You can't beat the Golden Sun for it's incredible value.
I am a regular customer at Charley's Exotic Cuisine. I always enjoy their delicious Caribbean Dishes and they also provide fast and friendly service. Their prices are very affordable and are always expanding their menu to give their clients more great options to choose from. The location is in the same plaza as their grocery store so it makes it easy for me to buy what i need and at the same time enjoy a great meal. I highly recommend this restaurant to those who are looking to try something new in Scarborough East end and have the taste for Caribbean food. Their restaurant also accommodates both dine in and takeout conveniences so you can either have your food to go or bring your family to sit down and enjoy.
I strongly recommend you try their food. It's not greasy, its tasty, and you'll also get a good bang for your buck. They also make very good doubles and pastries in house so you can enjoy that too!
Recently ,we had a chance to have lunch at this Anjjappar and we have ordered different varieties,Veg and Non Veg, items like Chettinad Chicken Roast, Nattu Kozhi Roast, Katharikkai Kozhambu, Karahi Vegetable are so good. Authentic south Indian food, the quality and service are good. Reasonably priced. We strongly recommend the Non Vegetarians to visit this place
In anjappar chettinad Pepper Chicken Dry I had ever had in life. It was so hot and so good to have more and more. Instead of my lunch(meals) I had full of chicken. This experience makes to visit again and i wish to go there for my favorite pepper chicken.
Anjappar is always my favorite place for having some awesome Chettinad food and this restaurant serves the food from the taste of real chettinad. Anjappar Chettinad has unique valuable and taste from one another. The atmosphere of the restaurant is pleasant good to hang out with family and friends. Have been to this restaurant many times and always enjoyed every minute and the food. The place is very friendly and pleasant. The dinner buffet which we went had variety of dishes and as always it taste good too.
Dosa, Taali and curries are what we had a lot. As per the regular menu, the varieties are so many that you may have to visit more number of times to try them all atleast once. The appetizers are the best in anjappar, as it makes you mouth watering and the for main, you shouldn't miss dosa items as it is traditional food and it is in the best form @ anjappar. And for prices, they are pretty good and the quantity is a fair deal. Anyone interested in Indian/ South Indian foods, you should definitely visit this restaurant, although I should warn those who aren't used to spices, you should be careful :)
Stay away from this place! Especially if you have little ones! I have gone for breakfast and the service was pretty good and the food not terrible, its pretty hard to mess up breakfast! I decided to go for dinner and the service was horrible, as well as the food. Not to mention they complained that my 15month old through a bit of food on the floor and the owner, also the cook came out and told me that I need to start teaching my child how to behave now! And then he started to lecture my baby! I understand the little guy through food on the floor, he does it all day long at home and we clean it up and tell him its wrong! Of course he laughs since he really doesnt get it yet!!! However this is suppose to be a family place! Where families can feel comfortable! I was so upset I said forget the pumpkin pie and paid and was about to leave! I didnt tip because it was so horrible, then the waitress called me on it and said so what! Because he said that you, you dont tip me! I was crying now! and actually gave her 10 bucks because I was shaking and couldnt do the math!! It was horrible! They should be shut down! Please support other places that love and understand families!
