Awesome late night cake place in Richmond

I've been craving cheesecakes for the past week or so and finally tonight my gf and I went to Yavis. It's the first time for me to come here but I've heard of it for months already from another gf of mine who is a regular customer. I was very full when I arrived tonight so the 2 of us only went for 2 cheesecakes instead of our usual tasting of 3 or 4 cheesecakes. We had the glacier sesame which was frozen hard but taste wise was pretty good, seems like they used cream cheese with a touch of sour (not lemon) in it. The other cheesecake we had was a regular smooth and baked mango cheesecake that was pretty tasty but I think it lacked some lemon juice. Or could b just me that's craving for sour taste tonight.
For value, it was very reasonable esp. when we have the combo of drink and cheesecake. In total for 2 drinks and 2 cheesecakes we paid $20 including 15% tips. So, it was very reasonable esp when the service was pretty good, the server was attentive though he doesn't really know the flavours of the cheesecakes.
Ambiance is also very good for a chinese dessert place in Richmond.
Since they close late every night except monday (they close every mondays) , I think I'll become a regular. I would also recommend anyone who loves to hv a little dessert in Rmd to visit it.

Great Dessert Place Hidden in Rich City

so, i live quite near this place.
i found it by accident with my boyfriend, as we were walking around looking for a place to eat dessert.

we were so glad to find it, as it is a convenient place in richmond, as oppose to going all the way to downtown v just to have cheesecake.

although it is quite pricey (you spend 20$ on 2 slices of cheesecake =O), it's still pretty cool that they have that cheesecake/drink combo (where your drink's cost is lowered). but then again, it always adds up.

the place itself is very modernly decorated. it has a lot of 'white space', and it's quite worth a visit. although it's not something super mindblowing, it's still quite a state of the art once you step in. and their super artistic looking clock is cool.

the cheesecake itself is pretty good. i always order the heavenly whatever (chocolate vanilla) one, since most of their cheesecakes are fruity (i like chocolatey flavours more). they have quite a selection that's definitely worth checking out. the portions are quite smaller than other places, that after a few nibbles, your cheesecake experience is over m'dear.

the service is meh, straightforward. they're probably better towards chinese people since it is located in a highly chinese-populated area.

overall, i say that you try this place at least once.

Great selections of cheesecake

I tried this place with my girlfriend and had the lavender baked cheesecake and I think the wild berry glacier cheesecake to eat, and blueberry and strawberry tropical smoothies to drink. All were quite good, and they do go a bit more for the homemade style. The glacier cheesecake was pretty unique - if you haven't had frozen cheesecake before, here is a decent place in Richmond to try! The cheesecake isn't gourmet quality or anything but still tastes great, and the place is excellent for a small group of people. Service was pretty solid; the two people serving us were pleasant.

Glacier cheesecake

Friends of my daughter showed her some pictures of this place. It got my daughter excited and she wanted to have a try.

The interior design of the place is simple but contemporary. It really has its own style and the thing I like about it is that each part of the design has its meaning behind it. It is not I usually encountered.

There are so many choices of cheesecake. More than 20, I guess. I tried a glacier cheesecake. Never had a frozen style cheesecake before. Taste very different from what I usually had. It is different but tasty. My daughter had the baked style cheesecake. It is not bad especially the presentation.
