We had a coupon from the Entertainment book so decided to give this place a try.
It took us a while to find the restaurant as it's hidden at the back of the hotel through a maze of hallways. Arrived & was promptly seated. The place had a funky smell, but we still chose to stay.
The appetizer menu was not very lengthy or appealing & mainly consisted of seafood. There was a selection of approx 8 entrees. I ordered the Baseball Sirlion w/wasabi mashed potatoes & veggies. The sirloin was not the best (cheap cut). My boyfriend ordered the Mediterranean Chicken Roulade & really enjoyed it. The presentation of the food was 5 star. It looked amazing & we even took a picture of it!
Service was just OK (the waiter seemed nervous) Alcohol was a little pricey...3 Corona's cost $20!!!! - - ouch!
The best part about both our meals were the wasabi mashed potatoes....YUM YUM! We might go back if we have another coupon.
I didn't feel we would have had our money's worth if we paid full price.
Looking in from the outside, I was not impressed. However, when I entered, the ambiance was welcoming. The waiting staff, especially our server ~ a sweet spoken woman with a gentle demeanor~ was very friendly and had impeccable manners.
The lunch menu was not extensive nor impressive. A little thought in their menu planning to develop their assortments might be helpful. Anyways, on the menu was Beef on Baguette ( But the beef, of course, was of AAA quality), Salmon sandwich (But the salmon, indeed, was Atlantic salmon ~flown in from the East possibly), sandwiches, burgers and pastas. The PRICES were surprisingly a GREAT deal considering its excellent quality and large portions. I ordered the Beef on the Baguette which included a huge portion of fries for 11.95. On the other hand. my Mom ordered the salmon sandwich which included a large organic salad for 9.95. Whoa! Unbelievable!
The food, aside from Price, was awesome. My beef sandwich was loaded with THICK layers of roast beef. The beef was NOT the sandwich beef one would buy at Safeway . Instead the beef was of AAA quality, and tasted like it came straight from the oven onto my sandwich. The beef had a drizzling of aioli (garlic) sauce which made the taste even more poignant. Heaven!
Mom's salmon sandwich was also not a disappointment.
When her plate arrived, we were surprised that the salmon sandwich had one HUGE / THICK salmon fillet. We both assumed that the salmon would be of "canned" quality that was spooned onto the sandwich. Instead, the salmon appeared as though it was prepared fresh from the kitchen with the chef, taking a huge slice from the salmon's side, and placing it right onto the bread.
We don't drink, so the price of alcoholic beverages was not an issue.
