Great Service for Pho

You know how you get terrible service at most Asian places? This aint one of them!

Good service, good food.. the place looked good too. Pretty refreshing to be quite honest.

When I think Vietnames noodles, I think dirty, small, congested, and rude. This place is none of those things, and offers great food.

I ordered the spicy pork hock noodle in soup and it was great! Although it might have had too much MSG, who cares? You're going for PHO. Be prepared to be doused in MSG.

Want something heatlhy? Don't come to this place. Want something tasty and satisfying? This is the place.

Terrible Pho Sure and more msg

I used to go to this thaison location every single Saturday with my family. We thought this was the best Pho place ever, cheap and good. Then the quality of their food started slipping. Their broth used to be rich and tasty and then just MSG-tasting. We stopped going here after we broadened our horizons and tried some other places. We then decided never to return to thaison because when it comes down to it, it's just a Pho fast food restaurant. There are so many other choices to go to in richmond.

Best Vietnamese in Richmond

Preamble: busy weekend dinner for three

Food: I believe they use a variation of Chinese "lai fun" as their noodles in their Pho. They are extremely smooth and slightly chewy, a definite upgrade in my opinion to regular noodles. The marinated pork and lemongrass chicken were also standouts, although caution must be paid to take the skin off as the latter tends to be somewhat oily. Do not order the pancake-looking picture at the end of the menu, it is like the Korean seafood pancake except soggier and much worse.

Service: I believe I counted three people serving an extremely busy restaurant. I thought initially one waiter's manner was rather abrupt but later on, didn't really mind it too much. Tea, though was refilled after 15 minutes or so when the lid was clearly off. Just a matter of not having enough staff I suppose.

Value: under $7 for a bowl of large pho noodles. enough said.

Ambiance: they moved from No 3 Road over a year ago to this second floor location. Certainly the renovations have paid off as this place is not anywhere close to the slighty unhygienic look of most Pho places.
