I'm a picky bbt drinker. My friend took me here cuz he thinks that their bbt is good and it's kinda quiet at night. I was always curious about this place cuz I stumbled on their website awhile ago. It's a franchise so it gotta be good.
This place is kinda small and tucked in with other restaurants on Fraser. At night, the street looked kinda sketchy.
My friend really likes their strawberry slush. There is a special name for this but I forgot. You'll see it on their colorful poster. I ordered Earl Grey MT and it was perfect. Not every places can make good Earl Grey. Their regular size is quite small but I didn't mind. I didn't want to drink too much caffeine and sugar anyway. Their prices are reasonable. They serve lots of food and even dimsum!

I'm a Taiwanese and I live around Fraser because I go to Langara College but I find it very troublesome to have to drive down to Richmond for Taiwanese snacks and BBT. I came across Tapioca Express while walking along Fraser and if I can't find truly authentic Taiwanese flavor in Richmond, I highly doubted I would find it on Fraser. I tried their BBT first and it was quite pricey and wasn't the best I've tried in Lower Mainland. It was too sweet. Then I decided to try their fried fish cake (甜不辣) which I absolutely adored when I was in Taiwan. Compared to other restaurants, their fried fish cake is a lot thinner and tasted like fried rice cake but for some reason, I loved it beyond any others I have tried in Lower Mainland. It was around $5.00 including tax for a take-out packet. Surprisingly, they also serve fried pig's blood (豬血糕). The name sounds gross but it's delicious. For around $5.00 too, it comes in a bigger portion compared to places in Richmond. Being a Taiwanese in Vancouver, I often crave Taiwanese snacks and I'm so glad they serve some good snacks at this place.

Been to the sister location in richmond and food/drinks always consistent and fairly pricey.

Drink: I usually order a honey milk tea at many bbt places to gauge the vibe of the joint. The drink ordered was surprisingly delicious almost par to bubbleworld.

Value: For drinks it is fairly expensive as mentioned, only ordered a drink this time and it came to $3.75 for a small, if add 75 cents more you get a slightly bigger size. Two sizes are just kinda strange to me but I guess that's how they make more money on you. It wasn't all bad as they have good deals for food, ie. salty pepper chicken w/rice and milk tea is $8 which is an awesome deal.

Verdict: I would definately come back for on the food and drink deal. If you get a drink alone, you might as well go to bubbleworld and save some cash.
