Small sushi restaurant offering variety of sushi, sashimi, rolls, donburi, udon, combos, etc.
I used to always go to the Burnaby one, but since this is closer I come here now. I still think they are not as good here compared to the burnaby one, but then I haven't been to the Burnaby one in a while and I heard it sucks balls now. Anyways, this place has always had fresh sushi and sashimi everytime I come here at a reasonable price. I noticed lately though that some of their rolls (can't remember was it house or BC roll) are getting pretty friggin huge, (like chinese owned sushi restaurant huge). Thats kind of a bad thing, I don't want to be eating baseball sized sushi. But overall its good.
Last visit was about 4 months ago. If you care about your health and your loved ones, then don't come here!
The first thing you notice is that the wasabi is in a jar...what is that? It's the only place I've ever been to that you have to scoop out your own wasabi and it's not even spicy!
On this visit, we ordered the usual rolls - dynamite, chopped scallop & spicy tuna. It was pretty busy so we had to sit at the bar, that was the beginning of the end. During the long wait for food, I made a visit to the washroom - big mistake...when I walked out of the washroom, the first thing I saw was a big tray of egg rolls exposed, waiting to cool down. By this time I had already lost my appetite, feeling slightly obnoxious. The sad part was that the boy sitting right next to us ordered 5 tamago sushi, I almost wanted to warn him not to eat it.
Such a shame as it started off well, thought the sushi had good value. But after this incident, I can't bring myself to go back ever again.
Read some bad reviews.... but it seem its ur fault if u dont check ur orders b4 u leave the place. ppl make mistake were not perfect in this world.
as for service they are really busy. dont go there when its peak hours. its a small place so its goin to be packed all the time.
best sushi and its fresh.
Absolutely the WORST experience EVER! I have NEVER had such a TERRIBLE experience with food and customer service in MY LIFE. Soo much so, that I have made it my mission to spread the BAD word.
- Ordered for pick up and was told it would be 10 minutes.
- Arrived 15 minutes later and waited another 20 minutes (basically, they didn't start until we arrived)
- Before leaving, asked to confirm that everything was there.
- After arriving home, noticed that the main entree was missing.
- In addition, the sashimi was frozen.
- Called to ask them to send the missing food.
- They REFUSED!
- Went back to the restaurant and demanded a full refund.
- They REFUSED!
- The owner/manager said this "is not the way they do business!"
- Not "stuff" Sherlock! They do business like monkey rats.
(I thought I was doing them a favor by giving the opportunity to turn an unhappy customer to become a semi-happy customer that may have considered coming back if the situation were resolved reasonably)
- After causing a minor scene, they FINALLY agreed to give a refund of the missing food and frozen sashimi only.
I'm still shocked and amazed that this type of customer service can keep this hole in business? It's truly sad...
If you don't believe me, go ahead and try - but I don't suggest wasting your time, money or stomach on this place.
Good luck Sushi House..........
