Sportstown Tavern is a sports bar in Richmond with pool, darts and pull tabs. The pub is decorated with soccer jerseys from around the world (donated jerseys or memorabilia is gladly accepted for display).
I frequent Sportstown at least once a month for lunch. They have excellent food! I do need to be a little more open minded and try new things, but what I have tried (taco salad, chicken wings, & their homemade hamburger) have all been fantastic (especially the taco salad...better than any Mexican restaurant I've tried).
Service is good, food is even better!
Me and some friends went here to pre-drink before going clubbing later that night and it was our first time there. Upon entering the Sportstown Tavern, is it obviously apparent that they take the term 'Sports Bar' literally. There are soccer and hockey jerseys from differing eras plaster all over the wall and ceiling, even the bartender wore a soccer jersey that night. There is a pool table and a dart board present in the back of the tavern so for those interested, there ya go. The pizzas we ordered were very delicious, and there was a special that night, so the prices were decent and affordable. The only thing to really gripe about was the service but they only appeared to have one, maybe two, servers on staff that night plus the bartender himself.
All in all, an enjoyable experience. The crowd that frequents it are typically in the middle-aged to older range. But I guess after a rugby game or soccer game, this tavern gets some of the younger generation as well.
