Amazing Place For Food.

I drive by this place almost everyday. I've always wanted to try it, but always ended up at my usual places for pho 99 in richmond.
Tried it today for lunch and was happy I did. I ordered a regular house special pho, spring rolls, their special bahn mi ( vietnamese grill chicken sandwich) and their ham & pork banh mi. Delicious!
I was so impressed with the broth. You don't need to add any of the sauces. It was so flavourful.
I think this may be my new go-to place for pho. I will be back.

My initial visit here in the early days suggests to me that its off to a good start.
I come to pho 99 richmond to try out with my family and friends for a few times. Yes, I love it !
They got many selections, even i come here every week for about 2 months now , i still have not finished trying all the menu items yet.
I like the House Special fried chicken wings are yummy, I love their Delicious Pho, and BUN BO HUE-spicy noodle soup, BO KHO –beef stew is very good too. I tried many different pho restaurants, but its not as good as Pho 99.I liked that the broth was not too salty but was flavorful enough to drink as a soup. Friendly services.
They got a great price too, with a combo included MAIN COURSE, APPRETIZER and DRINK less than $10, big portion. They got a rice combo with soup and drink for about $9.
you can create your own combo, it is the best way attract me return everyweek.
There were also some Viet Subs (with BBQ chicken, BBQ minced pork, Vietnamese ham) available priced at $3.95 very cheap. My mom always buy 10 or more for her co-workers almost every Friday.
As everyone knows, Alexandra road is very hard to find a parking. Another reason i like to come here because they HAVE A FREE PARKING at the back. Save my $$$$ for daily parking if i go to another pho restaurants in richmond at lunch or dinner hours. i saw numerous awards posted on the walls, and my girl friend introduce me with a few famous movie stars in hongkong and taiwan , sorry i didn't pay attention to her since i am very hungry and want to finish my lunch, hang back to work. I would certainly come back to pho99.

When you come here, be sure to order this dish!

It is authentic to every taste like the capital city in North Vietnam. The veggies dish are rich and plentiful! The portion is huge so it is a very great sharing plate with someone.

Also you must order their Banh Mi Ga Nuong ! That's A Special Vietnamese Chicken Sandwich with very Crispy Skin combined with Lemon Grass Grill Chicken and a lot of Veggies, super super yummy!

Their Homemade Fresh Fruits Smoothies r also a PLUS such as Avocado MilkShake, Durian MilkShake, and StrawBerryShake...! That's So Delicious !

After writing this review, I will pay a visit again tomorrow and many more for sure !

we went on a weekday afternoon around 2 pm, the restaurant was not busy, i like the booths at this place and it is never too busy, and no wait for a table. Ordered a special pho and a pork chop sandwich, salad roll and an avocado shake, the sandwich was exceptional, great fresh bread and good meaty filling. The pho was ok, seems like the pho was sitting around for a bit because the noodles were in a sticky clump, which tells me they were sitting in the bowl for a while. salad roll was acceptable, i didn't try the avocado shake. Not my favourite pho in the area, but i would return without hesitation.

Disappointing, probably one of the worst pho places I've ever been to

I had never really had pho that I didn't like ... until I came to this place.

I went here with my boyfriend. The place was relatively clean, but my gripe is with the service. I understand that you generally should not look for spectacular service at a pho place, but this place was exceptionally bad. The waitresses were not only rude but seemed unable to comprehend my order despite repeating it a few times. We ordered the following: small pho with round eye steak, chicken balls, and beef tendon; spring rolls; beef brisket noodle soup; and chicken skewers.

When they brought the pho, my first thought was, "Where is the round eye steak?" Well, turns out it's all balled up at the bottom and had been served already over-cooked. The soup was sorely lacking in taste -- it was like salty water, with no other flavours to recommend it, a far cry from the typically flavourful pho soup. The chicken balls were the cheap kind. Tasteless, with a stringy kind of texture, and made of questionable material. The tendon came with a lot of fat and tasted greasy. The only thing worth eating was the pho noodles themselves, which were still stuck together.

The spring rolls would have tasted pretty good if not the fact that they had a distinctly soapy aftertaste. I don't know if they didn't wash their sauce bowls or pans properly, or if they had gotten soap into the food, but it was extremely unpleasant. My boyfriend's soup noodles were mediocre, with the beef being too dry, lean, and stringy. At this point the only thing that we thought tasted somewhat good was the chicken skewers -- but then I found a hair on them.

It is apparent that the staff at this restaurant care little about the customers and put no effort into their work. The apathy really shows. The terrible service combined with lackluster food really made me remember this place as a restaurant to which I will not return.

food: pho didn't have the taste or aroma that's expected from Vietnamese cuisine (missing some spices?! soup was oily. Salad roll ok but accompanying sauce was watery. Sub was good. 3 bean dessert drink was way too watery and sweet.

service: waited at door for long time before being showed to a table (place was not full). Did not receive a menu, even after asking, had to get our own. Food came out very slowly.

Value: Prices and portions are comparable to other Pho places.

Ambiance: table was sticky, as was the booth. Lots of flies and mosquitos flying around. Garbage smell gets worse as you walk closer to back entrance.

Will not be returning.

Great Service/Good Pho/ Better than Pho Hua
By orbisnova of Langley (19 Reviews)

We were on our way to Pho Hua and saw a sign for Pho 99, We were contemplating trying it so we drove by, only one table was in there from what we could see, we decided to go to Pho Hua and then was like hey lets just try it.

Upon entering, no one came out, we didnt know whether we should seat ourselves, then a smiling guy came out and said for two? He seated us and gave us menus. Wow, what an extensive menu. He pointed out the best deal specials and we took a bit of time to go over them.

We both ended up getting combos and upping our drink to smoothies. My Pho came first, I wish it was hotter, but it was good. The chicken wings are tiny but tasty. My bf's lemongrass chicken and rolls didnt come til almost ten minutes later. The server was serving all the tables that came in, I think there were five other tables, while the girls were chatting on their phones.IDK maybe they were on a break, but if they could see he was busy, why wouldnt they help him?

Our smoothies came at almost the end of the meal, which I thought was weird, but they were sooo good. I wish they had pearls. lol

Our experience with food and service here was awesome. The ambiance was ruined by a girl with a very annoying voice sitting at the table ahead of us, talking so loud, we might as well have been sitting with them. She was very much a princess! I feel sorry for the guy who was with her who had to deal with her voice. Im sure he was embarrassed but didnt want to say so.

Would definately come back to eat here. Pho Hua will not be getting my business ever again.

Lunch time meal, big dissapointment, small portion

Pho 99 has extremely salty beef soup . We suspect they use msg beef bullion instead of the traditional beef bones, which is a must for good beef stock We ordered two large #1 & #2 Pho with rib beef and pho with rib beef and beef ball. We were both disappointed with the small portions. Come on, rice noodles are cheap and they serve very meager meat portions Don't expect service, They only will take your order and place your food on the table . My favourite Pho place is still the one in Vancouver located on Fraser and 18th Ave.
They have good soup stock and ample portions, unlike Pho 99.

They had a variety of food to select from including set meals where you can select the type of noodle soup plus a side dish (e.g. salad roll, skewers etc) and a drink for less than $9

You will know WHO IS WHO? WHAT IS WHAT? who provides you a best service? who will give us a good / high quality of PHO? and environment too. Who is clean and acceptable when you need to use the WASHROOM...good food and good soup,,,

Went there on a Sunday evening, and it wasn't very busy. There was one large group of 8, our party of 6, and 3 other small tables of 2. The waitresses were friendly enough, but the food took way too long to come. I waited about 20 mins for my bowl of pho, and 2 other people in our party didn't receive their rice dishes until almost 30 mins after we ordered. One person ordered 2 sandwiches...one was served and eaten before the other sandwich showed up. The food was also very greasy. The soup broth was swimming in oil, and so heavy I had a hard time finishing it, despite being hungry. They did not serve me bean sprouts, so I had to ask for it. We've eaten at many Vietnamese places and this is the worst. Skip this place, go to Pho Hoa up the street instead.

First of all...I think we need to be weary of the people giving this place 5 stars, and only have 1 or 2 posts. If you think this place deserves 5 stars for anything at all...I am at a loss for words. The table tops were greasy, it smelled weird, and the food was definately not good. We went with 12 other people, all agreed it was not a repeat...be forwarned...

right when i walked in i was expecting at least 1-2 tables of people already there but i found no one in the restaurant.
the whole time i was at pho 99 no other customer came in and we were the only table the whole time

so we ordered our food and it came pretty quickly which was good (but wouldn't' expect it to be slow since we were the only customers)
the food was all right, the beef wasn't piece by piece it was in clumps so i'm guessing the chef didn't take the time to pull the thinly sliced pieces of beef apart. i've had better Vietnamese noodles.

when i was done i had to call a few times for the lady to come give us our bill because she was too busy talking on the phone with her friend which didn't seem to be very good service
all in all i wouldn't go back.

Pho 99 Rock!
By wwl604 of Richmond , BC (1 Review)
Submitted Monday, August 2, 2010 - 11:00pm [Dine in]

My favorite Vietnamese restuarant right now, Pho 99 just rocks! Richmond, Vancouver, and Burnaby have alot of very good Vietnamese choices, but Pho 99 in Richmond is everything you want.

Food - Pho is very good, but what really impresses me is the pages of other Vietnamese eats. Combos, rice dishes, specialty drinks, Pho 99 will keep you amused for many visits. I really like the Lemon grass and spring roll rice dish.

Service - Friendly and attentive staff. I noticed the staff here are alot quicker than the "other" Vietnamese place down the road.

Value - Outstanding value, as with most Vietnamese eats. Couple can easily eat a variety for under $20.

Ambiance - Pho 99 is pretty different, neon palm trees, big screen LCDS, sometimes blaring music, pretty lively place. Not your typical drag Pho cafe. Visit, trust me you won't be disappointed.

We are always happy to eat at Pho 99 in Richmond location as the food comes out fast and hot. The service is excellent. This place close by my office and they provide a big free parking at the back of this restaurant which will save us some $$$ for parking and time of course. The food and the prices are very good for the combo deal. Less than $ 10 you can get everything main course (noodle soup), appetizer and beverage.
Couple of my friends has been telling me about this place for a while, saying that their noodle soup and spring rolls, chicken wings, lemongrass chicken on rice are way better than other Vietnamese restaurants., I finally headed out to this place last Tuesday for the first time. During 1 week I visited pho 99 for more than 5 times. I want to try out their entire menu.
My friends were absolutely right. I ordered a noodle soup with thin sliced beef and beef meat balls, it was fantastic! The meat in it was very fresh while the soup base was delicious and hot, perfect for taste bud and this kind of cold nights. The service is excellent; decoration is very impress for a Vietnamese restaurant. We went there today for lunch again with a group of 5, the place were full. Lucky we found our seat after waiting for 2 mins. For sure, we will pick pho 99 from now on.

I go here often, usually after work.
Definitely good pho, for a good price.
You cant go wrong with pho 99.
I usually get the noodles with eye round steak and brisket, Large of course. Try it next time its delicious.
The only bad experience i recall of this place was when it was really busy one lunch time, and the service was terrible. It almost seemed like they were understaffed for the day. I didnt return for a couple weeks after, but I had to get pho fix in, so i gave in and went back to be pleasently surprised with the service. I guess I must have went before on just a bad day for the restaurant. This was about 6 months ago, and since then the food and service have been good.

This small family-owned a franchise Vietnamese restaurant is very popular to people whom live in Richmond and want great authentic Vietnamese food (run by Vietnamese family) with great portions and a pretty good price, of course high quality of services. The place is so clean. Decoration is very fancy with some coconut tree around the broth. We all feel that we already in Vietnam???

I took my girlfriend and a big team of us (16 people) after work last night. She was craving some noodle soup, while I was after some saucy rice dish, and we both and friends hurry to order a lot of food.. We got exactly what we wanted, everything tasted great, (Lemon grass chicken rice, spring roll , seafood noodle, Vietnamese sub, Bon Bo Hue with a little spicy soup , chicken wings, salad rolls, of course their house special combination of beef noodle soup was extreme good, it was hot when delivered to our tables. They were awesome) and the price is perfect. They got a very good deal of Set menu; we can make our own combination of Pho, appetizer and beverage for less than $ 9. The "cafe sua da" (iced Vietnamese coffee) is excellent too, and they also have great milk tea, soda lemonade, green tea ice cream, I looked at the menu, so many choices for me to choose from???? Oh my god I need to go there every week to try all of them ... The service is usually with a smile, and the food is often prompt... We'll be dining there again soon.

I was invited by a friend to PHO 99 Vietnamese restaurant last night. It was amazing when i walk into this restaurant, because the place is so CLEAN (most of vietnamese restaurant is very urly feel) and very fancy decoration. I found their price are not cheap....but suprised me when the waiter showed me the menu. For the small bowl of BEEF NOODLE SOUP, only $ 5xx, the large size only $ 1 more. everything is less than $8.

i was recommended to take the number 18 (special, all combination of beef noodle soup)...That's true, no wonder why they got 6 locations in north america.....The soup is very good.. Don't miss this opportunity to try PHO 99 if you haven't been there. My friend got the lemongrass chicken rice with a free soup at side. the smell is so good too. I will try this one next time.

Service: very professional in every aspect of thi dining experience.
Our waiter was knowlegeable and accomodating and made sure that our cup weren't empty throught the night.

For sure, we will be back this weekend

I can't count how many times my husband and I have gone to Pho 99. The food is always amazing. My favourite is the House Special Beef Noodle Soup and the Vietnamese Avocado Smoothy. So good! My husband usually gets the Lemon Grass Chicken and Rice combine with 2 Spring Rolls and never had any complaint even though he is a really picky customer. Lol. I know. The best part of this restaurant is not only the food but also the atmosphere and service really won my score!

Highly recommented for all food seekers!

Good Pho most of the time

Submitted Saturday, November 14, 2009 - 6:49pm [Dine in]

I have been a fan of Pho99 in North Vancouver for many years when I lived in Downtown. When I moved to Richmond I was pleasantly surprised Pho 99 just opened in Richmond too.

The Pho here is decent most of the time. There are the odd times when the beef was a little tough or the soup just wasn't flavorful, but this happens to ever Pho restaurant I've been to so it's alright.

When they first opened up, they had a problem with flies. There were tons of baby flies all over the wall.. It was pretty disgusting, but I noticed that problem is gone now. The place is pretty nice, there is always parking in the back.

Service is ok. But the small young guy that works there is excellent. Very friendly and professional. With his positive working attitude, he will advance well in life. He would always say "sil sum" (becareful) when he delivers things to the table. I call him Mr. Sil Sum.. LOL

I have gone to this restaurant many times and will continue to go. It's one of my frequent lunch/dinner places.
