The Pantry features a menu of Canadian family classics prepared using the freshest, quality ingredients.
I ate breakfast here, and the place was practically empty. I liked how it was quiet and spacious, but it was a little cold.
There was only one waitress, who did her best but had to run around since she took orders, seated people and dealt with the bill.
The food was alright. The sausage and the eggs were fine. The green onion potato pancake was rather bland, like it was hardly fried or anything. The prices are on par with places like ABC Restaurants, Denny's, White Spot, or IHOP. I would rate the food quality close to IHOP or slightly less than ABC. None of these are that great.
Came here a couple of weeks ago with my friends. I had a double burger and fires, another friend had a single burger and the other one stuck with wine.
The food was terrific.....had really good flavour and enjoyed every bite, I think the value is actually between a 3-4, the service was ok, as one would expect. We all left happy. We will return
I have tried a few other Pantry Restaurants, and have had very similar experiences. Food is good, though not exceptional. They have a rather limited menu, but what they have there, they do well. I don't mind ordering the same items as long as they are reliably good. Service is also friendly and prompt. This particular Pantry is quite spacious, and I had a good time enjoying a nice and quiet dinner with my husband. Will visit again if we are in this part of town.
Went here on a Wednesday night for dinner .. its Family night (8 of us).
Got seated quickly, but given the regular menus. Had to ask the waitress for the family night menus.
She came back 15-20 minutes later with the menus and said that she does not usually work on Wednesday, so did not know about the special menus.
She gave us the menus, we waited another 20 minutes for her to come back to take our orders.
The place was staffed with 2 waitress, but was almost empty, I think I saw another 2 couples.
We were planning to get up and leave, having waited for so long ... arriving at 7 and ordering at 8pm.
We finally ordered, which was quick.
Food was overly salty, but the waitress was there to ask how things were.
Overall, not worth what we paid and also the automatic tip of 15% was surprising given that we waited and waited for our menus and then our food.
This will remind me never to come back to this location, as we have had bad service before also.
Three strikes now and we will not return again.
I was in Richmond with Mrs. C, and we were looking for a quick bite. Sure there are lots of great Chinese restaurants, but I needed a big piece of beef. We spotted the Pantry and in we went. We were seated right away, but our server disappeared for about half an hour after she gave us the menus, and again after we got our entrees. When we finally ordered, I had the Frisco burger, which was a big beef patty with cheese and onions on sourdough bread. I added a Caesar to get some veggie content. Mrs. C had chicken tenders and a salad. The burger was juicy and greasy, and about what I expected. The salads were fresh and tasty, but the chicken tenders were dry and way overcooked.
I found the ambience to be nice and the w/c to be clean, but the lack of decent service was irritating. The food was just okay, and so we likely will go to another location for our next Pantry experience.
Went for dinner with my pal Jay,we patiently waited a whole 10 mins for somebody to seat us. The place was almost empty, except for one table with 3 people. While standing there like an idiot with Jay, i notice a waitress was coming towards us,so i thought. She gave me a "wait a sec" gesture and proceeded to the bar area. After another 5 mins of waiting, she finally came over and sat us. I asked her if she was the only one working tonight, she said with a blank face and said "no". Finally, our designated waitress took our order, she was friendly and quick with our drinks.I ordered the turkey dinner,Jay ordered the chicken merlot. The food was just ok,the portion size was satisfactory.Since the place is so dead,no wonder there was only 2 waitress on shift.
