This location is on St Edwards Drive in Richmond. Moxie's Grill serves Canadian style food including pizza, pasta, salads, burgers and more. The restaurant is family friendly and includes a kids menu.
I can't stop raving about this place. We went there on Vancouver Blogs recommendation that they had the best burger in the city. Grilled cheeses-as-buns did sound like a heart attack on a platter, but it is one of the best things I have ever eaten. The waitresses are blond, tall and so endowed. just.amazing. It can get expensive with your poison in a bottle, but hey.
I love the Belini's and Bite of Brownie!
I was very disappointed with the management when my steak was not cooked the way I requested. I advised the waitress that my steak was not to my liking, she brought the manager. He said it was impossible that the steak was done properly as the steaks are cooked to temperature. I felt as though I had to argue with this manager when all I wanted a good steak.
I have been to this location many times, I usually have a decent meal and the wait staff are usually always friendly.
I haven't been a visitor and diner at this chain long having lived in Vancouver but been kinda oblivious to it forever. I have visited this Moxie's 4 times recently because husband works close to it and it is a good option for dining after I pick him up from work.
Those that have been to Moxies probably know them but those who havent can expect a modern ambience, pretty good food and interesting and occasionally healthy options (probably much better than the competition) and nice friendly service. I usually pick a salad and customize with one of their many options and substitutes. Husband picks meat and we sometimes have a glass of wine. They can get busy usally as we leave but earlier around 5:30 they are pretty much just opening I would say.
The prices are a little on the high side but I have to say the fresh ingridients seem like quality and customziation does not cost extra and is well received. The waitresses are classy dressed and show some skin and not for one moment I dont know what the other reason is why husband likes to go there but then again those girls can flaunt it and they do I guess.
A very nice dining choice in Richmond, but a little too expensive for frequent dining.
My dad and I do out father-daughter "dates" every few years just to catch up, and we always go here since he's out in Richmond.
It's cozy, dim lit, and very well decorated. Chic and a good place to take someone whether you're talking business, dates, or a family dinner with kids in their early to late teens. The servers are well dressed and cordial when they greet you, and the tables are clean, free of crumbs, and the booths are comfortable. Its a nice little nook for you to connect with your other dinner guests.
The menu offers a vast variety for you, in the form of pastas, burgers, entree salads, and other choices. There's always something for everyone. I've tried tandoori salmon salad and a portabello sandwich on different visits, and I was surprised by how filling the salad was. It came with a steak of salmon, very well seasoned and cooked to perfection. Not dry, and not swimming in juices either. Tandoori is not something I would've thought to season and flavor a salmon, but it really worked here. It was on top of a bed of fresh, non-wilted spinach and other lettuces, all tossed with sunflower seeds and mango, and then a slightly savory dressing that was the right amount of flavor to be a staple for this salad. It was on a large dinner plate so I definitely wasn't hungry after devouring it. So good I forgot to let my dad try it :P
My dad got the x-treme burger, of course, decked out with two patties, bacon, and cheese. Typical men's burger ;) but hey, it's good they offer something for guys with a hearty appetite. The fries the burger came with were pretty good and my dads really picky about the crispiness of his fries and they did them just right for him. We were both really happy about our meals, no complaints, just full stomachs.
In conclusion: happy customers, happy waitresses, and great food for someone who likes a place that raises the bar without raising the prices above the foods value.
Been here a few times and have been impressed by the quality each time. At first, I didn't expect too much given the somewhat remote location, but was pleasantly surprised by the tasty food. The kitsilano sandwich is absolutely delicious, as well as a fabulous quesadilla. The only thing i'd say is the portions aren't very consistent, I felt the sandwich was a bit small, but the flavours more than made up for any lack in size. The quesadilla was a nice, hearty gooey cheesy experience w/o being greasy. Another thing I enjoy is they serve nice plump chicken breasts where I get a mouthful of protein when i sink my teeth into it. They also do a mean brunch as well. The breakfast items all look fantastic and inviting to dive in to. A great place to go satisfy your tummy.
Met up there with some buddies after work for some drinks. Some of us ordered food like myself.
I had the Grilled Chicken with Pineapple Salsa. Found it to be very tasty and the pineapple salsa made the dish. Chicken and rice were moist. The Veggies were just 1 big piece of roaster red pepper and a couple thick chunks of grilled bok choy. Not great but not bad either.
Had the blackberry apple crisp on puff pastry for desert. Very generous portion and a perfect dessert for two-people. Tasted excellent.
Overall pretty good experience. Beer was nice and cold and the server was excellent. Only complaint is that many of the entree's I saw on the menu were over priced. The LCD screens in HD around the bar showing sports were a nice touch
Went a couple times with a guy from work for lunch.
The food was awful. The mixed greens salad was actually just cheap lettuce with nothing in it and such a small amount of dressing you coudnt even taste it.
The meal was dry, cold, tasteless fish with no sauce.
I sent it back and got another bad meal in return. Stale bread, cold coffee. Awful!
Moxies Richmond is awful but I guess thats what you get when some snot nosed 20 year old kid is 'cooking' for you and some 19 year old bimbo in a mini skirt is serving you.
I recommend family owned from now on as these chain places are dropping the ball big time.
