McKim Wonton Mein Saga is a definitive Cantonese-style won ton noodle soup. This Richmond location is part of the original chain from Honk Kong.
Basically a noodle, rice and congee place that a bit more upscale than your normal type of NCG places. A big menu of chinese snacks, noodles and rices as well as a dinner menu where you can chose a 4,5,6 items for a fixed cost which includes soup and rice.
Went for lunch and tried the stir fried rice noodles (just OK), fried rice (OK), congee (OK), crispy noodles (OK). So you get the point, just an OK place to satisfy that craving. Good quick service and nice clean restaurant.
Food: fairly extensive menu selection. reliable congee and noodle place at reasonable prices
Service: fairly efficient. dont expect personal service and u wont be disappointed.
Ambiance: pretty busy during lunch hour. pretty clean and basic interior.
Overall: consistent good comfort chinese food. never been disappointed by the food.
Wow I haven't went there for like a few months and this time I went is it totally different.
People are way nicer and service is quick
Food is a lot better than half a year ago as well. I went there twice recently and were not disappointed.
There's also a new location. It was quite busy though so I had to wait about 10 to 15 minutes but overall the food/service is great. Try going a little bit before or after dinner time when it's not so busy.
The food is average, with the wonton noodle tasting best. The food tasted very "westernized chinese food". Meals arrived very fast and hot. Waitresses were nice but looked at us funny when we didn't know how to reply back in cantonese (I'm Chinese). The restaurant was clean but a bit drafty. I would come back again if I needed a quick meal to eat.
We decided to drop by after driving passed it a few times. On Sat. eve, it was full; only a few tables available. It was noisy and hot in there. Like many Chinese restaurants, it's a cash only place. We were greeted and seated promptly and we ordered the wonton noodles and some veggies. The food came fairly quickly and was quite good. Reasonably priced; also you get a large mug of tea. We will be returning when we have another craving for noodles.
Came here a week or so ago for a little dinner. Ordered a few plates and it was yummy but a little too oily and salty. Had their dumplings, which was DELICIOUS! I haven't tried their wonton, but im guessing is pretty similar. Now i have two places for wontons/dumplings, here and Tsim Chai Noodles on Westminster Hwy! =)
There wasn't much service because the place was 95% full but the food came quickly. The ambiance is your typicial chinese noodle/cafe places.
Pretty good place for wonton and other dishes. Food comes fast. We've been here several times and we're the people who ask specifically for a certain dish. Both servers and chefs will recognize what we want and won't make a fuss about it, though it might be a bit more expensive. The waitresses are always pleasant and try to seat you immediately.
