We have shopped at The Market at Papi's for several years. The staff are very enthusiastic and cheerful.
The prepared food behind the glass counter, is fresh. The Orange Polenta small cakes and Lemon Squares are delicious and I think cost under $5 each, we take several home. Their other baked desserts are also tempting, but my fav is the Orange Polenta Cake.
They have shelves of speciality items, lots of bottles and jars. It's a small place, so I try to get in and out quickly.
I go straight to their stand-up cooler, where they store their home-made pasta sauces. The best I have ever purchased. There are 2 sizes of plastic tubs, small size is about $4.79 and large size cost a bit more. There are several sauces: Marinara tomato sauce; Bolognese meat sauce; cream-tomato sauce; other sauce with chilies or anchovy in it. They don't make all the sauces every single day, so when I see the sauces I like the most, I buy 6 tubs and freeze them at home. It works for me.
They sell several brands of Pasta, and my favourite has become a brand called, "rustichella d'abruzzo" ($6.39) comes in a brown paper pouch, 500g (1.1 pound). I use 2 small tubs of sauce for 2 people. (My fav is to mix one small tub of Marinara and one small tub of Bolognese, but you can do what you want to).
Our meals taste like we are eating in a good Italian restaurant, but with the convenience of eating at home.
For those evenings when you do want to eat out, please try Papi's restaurant. But if you like staying in, please try Papi's pasta and sauces and other speciality items.
