The restaurant operates lunch including Mongolian and Beijing’s pastry, Sichuan and Shanghai Cold Food, Mongolian BBQ and Hot Pot Combo Convenient for working folk etc. We mainly operate Hot Pot during the suppertime. The alternative food is more than one hundred types.
we went here as a party of 6, i like the seating here as there are lots of booths and the dining is quite private. We sat down ordered from the menu as all you can eat. Food was very good, and came out quick. There was no service to speak of as there was no organization. All the service staff were doing the food running, with no one in charge of looking after the tables. Very dis organized, as we did not have a waiter, just all these food runners that are on the way back to the kitchen, that you would yell out and hope they would stop to service your table.
Anyways, it is what it is. I actually had a pretty good meal, besides the lack of service, there was a diner at the next table that was having a spirited conversation with his dinning companions. He was literally yelling at the top of his lungs speaking his native language(mandarin) having a great time. Pretty annoying for the rest of us around his table having to listen to it while eating. Not the restaurants fault, just takes away from the experience. when we were done, we had to ask at least 5 times for the bill from different servers on their way back to the kitchen, and leave the table full of dirty dishes and still boiling hot pot, because there was no one that wanted to service our table,
Anyways, i left the appropriate tip for the level of service experienced here, we'll have a better meal sometime else, somewhere else. pity, i felt the food was pretty good.
Went there my first time and would be my last visit there.
Food -
The food was nothing special to me, the only thing special is probably their 'soup' and BBQ. and you order the sauce separately.
Service -
The service was quite good in spite of what's said in other comments.
I think it's the waiter/waitress that makes the difference.
Our waitress attended us with courtesy and promptness.
Value -
It's way too pricey in my opinion; and you drink more than you eat.
Ambiance -
The place was quite empty around 7pm during weekend. The decoration was good. clean.
Next time I'd have my hotpot with friends at home than going there again.
If you like to go to a restaurant and be completely ignored, with dirty surroundings, no one refilling your water/tea, no one taking away empty dishes this is the place for you.
Seriously...we had a full table of empty dishes, and when our second orders came, the just put all our stuff on top of the old dishes. It took forever before anyone served us, and no one seemed happy to work there. Albeit the servers were never actually rude...just not that great at their jobs.
The food itself was ok. Some of it actually tasted kinda bad. The meats were good, and noodles were good (but over priced. $4 for 1 bundle of udon or Vermecelli).
I will not visit again...for the price, the service is absolutely dreadful!
As this place is a hot pot, the one main thing people should look for in is not really the skill in cooking the food, but the freshness. Everything is brought to the table raw and uncooked and you basically cook it yourself.
#1 - the broth was superb, over 60 different kinds of herbs and ingredients went into this magnificent broth.
#2 - we did order 1-2 side dishes, desserts pastry, and they were superb as well.
#3 - environment is very roomy, big, contemporary and clean
#4 - portions were generous and fair in comparison to the price. 84$ we ordered about 10 dishes of food.
I'd definitely come back to visit this place again since i didn't detect any use of MSG in the broth!!

We stumbled upon this place a few weeks ago because most of the hot pot places on Alexandra were packed. It turned out to be a good choice, as this is one of the better, if not the best, hot pot places that I've been to.
The food was very fresh, unlike some other places that give you frozen meat that's stuck to the plate, and veggies that are alomost off. The soup base gives the cooked ingredients so much flavor that dipping sauces aren't really needed. The decor is nice, tying into it's Mongolian theme. The service was good - somewhat better than what one would expect from a Chinese restaurant in Richmond, although I would certainly say that this place is really geared towards a Chinese clientele. The only thing stopping me from going more often is the price. Your wallet will be a lot thinner after dining at this place; however, the food more than makes up for this.
Went to this restaurant today with a friend during lunch time. The restaurant was sort of empty, definitely not full. They told us to sit at a table near the cashier. After we sat down, we waited and waited for the waitress to come and give us the menu. And of course, that did not happen. I tried to look at the sort of manager-dressed person but he just kept "looking" busy! Well, since they didnt even want to deliver the menu, why should we keep waiting? So, my friend and I just stood up and walked out. As we were walking out, the manager and the waitress just looked at us, of course, without apologizing or saying anything. Well, I really wouldnt recommend this restaurant to any of you. I think good service can make up for bad food, but good food can never make up for bad service!
It seems like they dont need our money, and I think I would never want to spend my money on them either!
My family went there on a Sunday after deciding that an adjacent restaurant was too crowded to eat comfortably at. This particular restaurant didn't seem as busy as the one we left, and so we went it. Initial service was OK, and by that I mean someone quickly met us at the front and directed to our seats. After that, everything went downhill.
We wait for around 15 minutes while surveying the menu, but no one came. We finally managed to wave over one of the waiters, but just as he was approaching us, he turned to another table that arrived AFTER we did and asked if they've been served - not a good sign but definitely forgivable. What really bugged us was the fact that after he was told by that other table that they have not been served yet, the waiter plainly IGNORED us and walked past us to fetch a menu for that other table. The restaurant was NOT that busy, but he couldn't spare the time to ask US if we've been served or WHY we had waved him over in the first place!
Now insulted, the family got up a left, and as we were walking out, my mother told a passing waiter that the service was disappointing, and guess what - he ignored her completely.
The restaurant definitely looks enticing, with good ambiance and furnishings - but their service has too improve before I'll go back again, if ever.
