Fresh bento's and sushi made daily by Japanese chef's. Large selection of imported food from Japan. Japanese dollar store section as well. There are quite a few tables so you can sit down and have a quick meal before shopping!
Just tried out there new buffet - $9.99 for lunch or dinner with lots to choose from. Very good authentic Japanese food made in their kitchen at the back of their store. I will be going back for sure! The service to get in was a little slow, but they have only been open for a few days ;)
Here's a lil' secret - GOOD sushi is nearly always made by Japanese sushi-chefs. In a sea of AYCE (all you can eat) sushi restaurants in Richmond - the stand outs all employ Japanese talent (this one and Sakura Sushi #3 & Cook).
This one is similar to Fujiya (as another member pointed out) and offers similar value & freshness.
I'lll be back!!!
The food is delicious and doesn't make a hole in your wallet either. There's sushi, onigiri (riceballs), donburi's, soup, udon, gyoza, and a whole lot more. The price is reasonable and the food taste authentic. There's also such a variety, it takes me a while to pick what I want.
The staff are friendly and I really like the japanese atmosphere that this place gives. I love searching through aisles picking up different types of candy and instant cup miso soups.
If you like japanese food and on the go, this is your place to be.
Amongst all the restaurants in Richmond, I was having a hard time finding true Japanese food. Until I found Izumiya. Great, excellent tasting food. Most of the bento's (Japanese lunch boxes) are under $10). Donburi's for about $5 or $6. If you're out in Richmond, definitley stop by and give them a try. They also have catering for small or large parties. By far, the best tasting, Japanese take out food in Richmond.
Who knew there was this little gem in Richmond? It's a lot like Fujiya, in Vancouver, which I frequent a lot but I really appreciated their use of brown rice in their sushi rolls, which is a healthier option from white rice. I also liked some of their other items, especially their unagi don which was delicious.
It was fun just to poke around and look at all the japanese products that I don't usually encournter at other stores.
I am a regular here. They have a new asian salad with nice Japanese light dressing and bits of chicken. Very generous size (in a big plastic container) for around $5.50. Also try their healthy brown rice california rolls. They are yummy. There is another location in Rice World on Garden City but selection is not as good as the main store. There is a microwave to warm up your food.
